Cozy and well air-conditioned place! The man working at the counter (maybe the owner?) was very kind and funny! It took maybe 20 minutes to get the food, which I don’t think is very long, and the owner mingled with the guests in the meantime. The food itself was also good! There’s a lot on the menu to choose from! I would definitely come here again!

Very nice cafe. Owner is very friendly and likes to make british jokes. Hes all by himself so the cooking is taking s bit longer but the wait it worth it. Very good breakfast-spot!

CIAO is a delightful small breakfast spot that stands out for its commitment to fresh, made-to-order food. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, as I did, but it’s entirely worth it. I waited about 20 minutes for a table, but with my audiobook in tow, the time flew by.

Once seated, I indulged in a cappuccino, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a croissant with fried eggplant and cheese. The dedication to freshness here is evident—the croissant was baked to order! Every bite was a testament to quality and care, with flavors that were simply divine.

The restaurant operates on a cash-only basis, so come prepared. The owner, an Australian, is not just friendly and fun, but also an exceptional cook. His welcoming demeanor adds a personal touch to the overall experience.

CIAO is a gem for breakfast lovers who appreciate fresh, delicious food in a cozy setting. Just remember to bring cash and your patience, and you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable meal.

First of all, it was a pleasure to meet Giovanni. Second of all, food is fresh and delicious. I spent hours here eating and chatting, and had an amazing time. He drew a happy face on my juice and sang happy birthday to me. Thank you Giovanni I hope to see you very soon in this life or the next. Ciao!

Ciao in Catania is a delightful café. The owner, who speaks excellent (Aussie-)English, entertained us with amazing card tricks while we enjoyed croissants with tasty toppings. Highly recommended!

A Sicilian gem! The self roasted coffee beans make a world of difference - no artificial ingredients here, just pure flavor. Everything is made fresh by the friendly owner. If you’re in a rush to get somewhere then don’t come. He prepares the food fresh and isn’t warming up pre-made food somewhere. If you’re relaxed and want to have a chilled out and warm breakfast - I can only highly recommend. We also ended up having pistachio and white chocolate ice cream for breakfast. It was delicious. even the bottle Italian drinks are good! The guy was very funny & kind.

A unique place with phenomenal service.
The owner bakes the croissants himself and roasts the coffee beans, which gives both of them a unique taste. Additionally, the guy is a storyteller and knows card tricks. We spent over an hour at Ciao talking to him and spending quality time.
Thank you!

Such a unique place with an incredibly friendly owner. I spent a good hour or so chatting away to him and hearing his stories - it was a real pleasure too and the experience added to a memorable visit to the city. The place itself is a hidden gem - do make sure you visit. I had an extremely good cappuccino

It’s a magical 🧙‍♀ place. The boss has such a lively spirit and it cheers your up in the sometimes heavy world. The breads are really backed freshly and during the baking time he would talk with you and entertain you with magic tricks.

We don’t need cold saints in short encounters in this world. We need more people with a positive vibe and cheerful spirit!

The place is also like polish embassy in Catania. Many polish guests in a short breakfast time 😀

Me and my boyfriend came here to eat first day on our trip to Catania and we went back almost every day of our vacation there. Everything was perfect, the service, the food and especially the fantastic atmosphere that the owner makes. We had great breakfast and so much fun visiting this place. It would be a pity if you go to Catania and don't visit Ciao - even just for a cup of coffee. ❤

We have found a friend in Catania...the best food, company and magic tricks. We have been several times in this charming cafe and tried different dishes, all of them were really delicious and homemade. Especially the pistachio ice cream and the jockes have won our heart. We will return!
Also you can pick music while waiting for your food:)

What can I say that hasn't been said - I haven't been to a cafe like Ciao before. The owner John is super chatty and amazing to talk to - he is a fantastic storyteller and magician, and he had us entertained for hours.

The food here is fantastic - he makes it all fresh just for you and you can tell how much better it tastes. All the cornettos and croissants are sweet and buttery and the apple pie is incredible. Come here for the great food and conversation.

After conducting a search, we found and decided to visit this recommended café. We walked from our hotel and easily located it. Once there, we placed our orders and proceeded to savor a delightful breakfast. The coffee was particularly exceptional, and the bread served was fresh and delicious. To add to our enjoyment, we also indulged in some delectable chocolate croissants.
