Osteria Il Gatto e la Volpe

We came to l’Osteria il Gatto on about the fifth trip on which we avoid the craziness and stay in the lovely little town of Oleggio (close to Milan Malpensa airport). Terrific food, tasteful decor, quiet, with service just right (not too much, nor too little), fair prices. Great find! It has ample seating (a few interior photos added) even without the wonderful looking terrace (not seating there, presumably as the season has not yet gotten going). The server was perfect (good English but happy to help with one’s Italian. We each had an antipasto (pate and beef carpaccio both excellent), a primo (standout agnolotti; also a very good risotto con funghi porcini), and a meat salad as secondi (a bit less enthralling). Portion sizes are good - we are big eaters but could not try the desserts. Came to less than 90 euros.

Great place there is a nice terrace for summer time very simple menu almost 20 different items if you have one dish water and coffee you have to pay 10 € if two it will be 16€ plus 3-6 € for glass of vine

Lovely, nice food and great terrass with a fantastic view. Also got a tour of the wine cellar. Possibility to buy nice wines at the entrance. Friendly staff!

(Easy to reach from the hotels around, don't believe Maps!) Fantastic food for a honest price. Slightly expensive but for the quality, it's totally worth it.

Location particolare con vista, al entrare nel ristorante fai un salto nel passato e ti ritrovi a gustare dei piatti tipici a volte semplici ma di buona qualità. Abbiamo preso carpaccio e faraona ed entrambi ci hanno soddisfatto.

Siamo stati molto bene,ben accolti e coccolati, il servizio perfetto professionale e simpatico, i piatti dello chef incantevoli, sia per limpiattamento che per la scelta della materia prima, molto ben cucinata,io ho fatto un menu dall antipasto al dolce di 30 euro calice di vino a parte, ottima cantina prezzi molto onesti, piatti pieni, la qualità prezzo c'è tutta! Lo consiglio! Meglio prenotare!

Una vista spettacolare un servizio impeccabile ed una cucina di altissimo livello. Ottimi vini a prezzi contenuti. La civiltà.

Posto accogliente, prezzi giusti per la buona qualità dei pasti offerti.
In foto: polenta e asino e lasagna ai carciofi, il tutto accompagnato da un ottimo calice di Merlot.
Vasta scelta di vini ed a pranzo menù con prezzo fisso comprensivo di mezza di acqua e caffè.

Le carni piemontesi ben preparate ed accompagnate da buon vino rosso qui non mancano in una atmosfera semplice e rilassante alzandosi poi dal tavolo alleggeriti anche da un prezzo del conto equilibrato

Locale super, ottime pietanze e servizio molto curato. Personale qualificato e professionale. Prezzi più che giusti!
Ritornerò con amici appena possibile.

Storico locale in centro ad Oleggio con una bellissima e grande terrazza con vista sulla Valle del Ticino. Ottima cucina piemontese anche rivisitata. Agnolotti e Battuta di carne eccezionali. Ottima la
scelta dei vini. Conto contenuto. Da non perdere!
