La Combarbia Winery Montepulciano

The best wine tasting experience I have had in a long time. The owner’s passion shines through in every part of the tour and tasting. He has a vision and we were honored to be to contribute to his dream. The wines are spectacular! Our hostess did such an amazing job providing not just the tasting notes but so much education on Italian wines. We cannot wait until we can come back and see the amazing progress.

As many others have said, this is an amazing experience. It’s basically a private wine tour with opportunities to ask questions and learn about their history and process.
Michela greeted us in the parking lot and invited us in. Her enthusiasm and friendly smile made us feel so welcome.
The story of Gabriele and his family’s tradition of wine making is inspirational. We could truly feel that passion and pride that he puts into his wines.
The wines were wonderful and we left with several bottles and shipped some home too!

When we arrived, we were greeted in the parking area by a lovely young lady, Michela, who would be our tour guide and hostess for about an hour and a half. We did not visit the vineyards, but did visit the production area where we met the owner, Gabriele. Michela explained in great detail the barreling process and types, details about the region, the grapes, and the types of soils very specific to the great wines we were tasting. Super personal, very informative experience. We had a great time and fantastic wine. Shipped several bottles home!

Exceptional wines and absolutely the best tasting experience you could ask for! Met the owner, cool young guy so passionate about his wine and family….it shows in his wines, so expressive and all organic, some of the best we’ve tasted. Don’t miss this winery!!

We had an amazing experience at this family run winery. The best and most intimate tour we have ever had. Michela was so sweet and accommodating (we had a 10 month old with us) and was extremely knowledgeable about the wine making process. She was with us from beginning to end and we absolutely loved her! We also got to meet Gabriele, the very nice and hard working gentleman who started this winery, and you can tell he is passionate about it all. This winery is all about authenticity; keeping with old Italian tradition and favouring quality over quantity. We will 100 % recommend this winery to anyone going to Tuscany. We had the our best experience in Tuscany here today with Michaela and Gabriela! Michaela gave us an amazing history and explanation of the wine and winery and was extremely helpful and welcoming to our 2 young children we had with us. Gabriela came to chat with us as well and was so friendly. His passion and commitment to his winery is very admirable! We were even lucky enough to taste the reserve wine today and it was all delicious. Very grateful to have found this intimate winery to have a perfect Tuscany experience. Highly recommend!

La Combarbia was the most enjoyable and educational wineries I have visited in my 100 or so visited in the last 15 years! The owner and winemaker treated the four of us who came unannounced with a huge smile. Great wine is his passion! Michala gave us the best presentations of local wine! This place is exceptional,

I did the wine tour and tasting with my wife and had an incredible time. They were extremely welcoming and took so much time to explain the history and winemaking philosophy. We are excited to order wine and have it shipped back home. We even got to try some of their family biscotti!

We couldn't recommend visiting this winery more highly. It is a small winery with a lot of passion, we were met by Michela who gave us a private tour of the winery, she is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We met the wine maker as well who joined us for part of the tasting. The wines were superb. This was definitely a highlight for us, especially when compared to some of the larger wineries that we have visited this trip. Thank you again.

We visited Montepulciano in late May. Had the wonderful opportunity to visit this winery. Michela was amazing, she shared so much about the passion of the wine making. We ordered cases back to the US while we were there , and since have ordered more. They are clearly invested in creating the best product. We are so happy we visited .

Our first visit to a vineyard and what a great experience, friendly, informative and you can tell from speaking to the guide and the owner that they are passionate about their wine. The wine is superb and we bought a few bottle to take home with us. Would recommend this to everyone

Absolutely loved our wine tasting here - Michaela had such amazing energy and passion for the principled and natural ethos of the small-batch vinery, as well as a huge amount of knowledge about the process, and Gabriele had such warmth and time for us despite being very busy around the vineyard. The wines were delicious - totally recommend.

We visited and tasted at several wineries, but we chose to make our purchases at La Combarbia. Small production, hand harvested, real work goes into these wines. We are happy to support this growing winery. Gabriele is a good man and we will continue to purchase future vintages 😀
