VILLA POGGIANO Boutique Hotel

This hotel is in a picturesque example of the Tuscan countryside that you typically would see in movies. Just outside of Montepulciano, it's in such a beautiful setting. The sunsets and sunrises will have you stunned. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Rosemary bushes line the walks with beautiful flowers in the flower beds. There's olive trees around the property and a beautiful swimming pool. The room we stayed in was in one of the villas just above the dinning area. It's large, with a sitting room, large bathroom, and plenty of space in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable, shower cool (or hot if needed). it's definitely an older property that's been given a new life as a beautiful hotel. We spent more time walking around, getting pictures, and just enjoying the scenery than we spent in the room. The staff was wonderful and took care of us when we needed it. Because we were on a tour, we had cars arranged for our travels, so we don't know how difficult it would be to get cars to Montepulcano or one of the many local wineries. However, I'm sure that the staff would be glad to help arrange what you need.

This is a quiet and peaceful traditional villa with stunning views.

We truly had a super relaxing stay here. The room was comfortable and there are plenty of spots around the villa to enjoy a drink as the sun sets. It didn’t feel crowded at all. We even had the entire pool area to ourselves on a few occasions.

The Villa Poggiano team were super helpful and lovely throughout our stay. They offer to arrange a wide range of activities. We went for a half day wine tasting tour of two wine yards with a private driver – I highly recommend this.

A five night stay in May 2023 was a true Tuscany experience for us at the Villa Poggiana with an interesting history set amoungst beautiful grounds and the stunning countryside. We stayed in an equally beautiful ground floor room in the main Villa.

Breafast in dining room was a pleasant start to the day.

Stefania was friendly and helpful, and gave us good advice for places to visit or dine which we took up and were pleased we did.

Having a hire car made this a great base to drive Tuscany each day and only a short taxi ride into Montipulciano for an evening dinner if one chooses. After a good lunch most days, we chose most evenings to snack on a few delightful offerings we picked up through the day (mini fridge in the room). Afterwards we would wander into the main lounge most evenings or simply relax outside overlooking the countryside.

The sounds we heard morning and evening were birds, occasionally farm animals or a tractor, or someone simply walking along a gravel path.

Villa Poggiano was a great experience for us.

I can't rave enough about this remarkable villa! Our stay here was absolutely phenomenal, and we were embraced with a level of warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The staff was exceptional, delivering top-notch service throughout our entire stay. The rooms were tastefully adorned with exquisite decor, creating an ambiance of sheer elegance. And let's not forget the awe-inspiring surroundings that left us breathless. We are already counting down the days until our next visit, as this place has stolen our hearts. The place is absolutely beautiful! Every corner there is something to enjoy - the beautiful garden, the statues and stone tables, and of course the view!

The breakfast is good, and served in a small courtyard with view. Although they don't serve meals, there was an option of light lunch in some days, which was perfect on a lazy day to enjoy the pool!

The room was beautiful, with the decoration matching the house and the entire villa. And the silence, all you can hear are animal sounds, just so relaxing, making it an ideal spot for rest and a relaxing memorable time in Tuscany!

Staff overall very (very) nice - the lady that was always at the breakfast was very helpful and always with a smile (apologies as I don't know the name). Stefania was also very nice, always there and so helpful, including helping us with some restaurant reservations.

Overall, we just wished we could go back tomorrow! Thank you!

This exquisite villa is better than advertised. Stefania and Gaia were beyond helpful, all staff were friendly and attentive. The grounds are so picturesque, photos don't do it justice. The location is peaceful while also central for touring around Tuscany. Recommend bringing a vehicle as local taxis are not reliable and often cancel.

If you're looking for peace and quiet in a lovingly and beautifully restored Tuscan villa then this is the place for you. Stefania and all her staff are extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly (Special mention for Ilaria, delightful "breakfast girl"). Rooms are spacious, comfortable and decorated in keeping with the style of the villa. Loved our stay here .

We spent a week at the villa the end of June 2022 and truly it was perfect from the spectacular grounds, warm welcoming staff ( the proprietor, Stephania, could not have been more accommodating) to the lovely comfortable rooms. Days were warm at the end of June but the AC worked very well. (Americans will find this important) But at night, up on the hill, the breezes made AC unnecessary. We just loved the Villa and being so close to Montepulciano, made the location perfect as well! We will absolutely come back, the whole week felt like a dream.
If there is any minor negative it would be that while the breakfast was wonderful, the kitchen is closed after that. Guests need to go into town for other meals.

Stunning hotel and location! We loved our stay at Villa Poggiano. The staff was incredibly kind and had a lot of suggestions of things to do, and even made some restaurant reservations for us. The views from the property are beautiful. You can see Montepulciano! It’s very picturesque. The rooms were extremely clean, the bed very comfortable and we loved the breakfast. We rented ebikes with the hotel, would recommend doing that and exploring Val d’Orcia!

Absolutely delightful! My daughter and I jut spent 4 days at this exquisite place, with such magnificent views! But the views were just part of the magic! The atmosphere is of of relaxation, hospitality in such a graceful way, and splendor. Truly a place I will hold dear for all of my days. Found this incredibly beautiful small country hotel using Google Maps. It is a few minutes west of the Medieval hill town of Montepulciano which is not far from the main highway and train line from Rome to Florence. But the Villa stands on a hill with a forest to the back, and the most splendid view of the Val D'Orche (southern Tuscan countryside) imaginable. Stephania, owner and overseer of the villa's remodel, helped us with reservations and all things Tuscan on our stay. Andrea greeted us at the imposing main gate, showed us our splendid room, and brought us a bottle of local wine. We walked country roads listening to birds and seeing hundreds of wildflowers. There is a delicious breakfast, wine, a swimming pool, easy ride into Montepulciano, and access to all that is wonderful in Tuscany. Our corner room had a living room and bedroom with spacious bath. Everything new inside a beautiful old country villa.

Absolutely stunning, great location, Stefania was also incredible and assisted us with getting a private driver who did an excellent job. Overall, great experience and would recommend staying at Villa Poggiano.

The place is simply gorgeous, the pool area is a dream, easy access, super close to Montepulciano and Pienza (2 of the most beautiful Tuscan villages), and the staff is fantastic. I did a provate yoga class with BeJoy (Ana Lisa) by the pool and it was the best yoga practice of my life. Thank you truly!

Amazing place (very well kept), stunning views, very relaxing atmosphere and a good working air-conditioning! Highly recommended and Stefania was also a delight and gave us a great tip to visit the Il Podere Casale farm for a great cheese tour and tasting.

An undiscovered gem. My family and I have been coming to the two properties owned by the Savini family (Montorio and Villa Poggiano) for a little over ten years, and the experience is now as it has always been, a delight. The iconic views of the Tuscan landscape from Villa Poggiano would keep any photographer in material for months, and the accommodation, facilities, and service of the Villa could easily rival the very best English country-house hotels. What many of those English hotels either can't or don't offer is the warmth of a family welcome. Villa Poggiano's owners are a Tuscan family who have an old-school attitude to impeccable service, but have designed their properties with modern fittings and comforts in mind (i.e. up-to-date bathrooms, free WiFi access and mini-bars). At the Villa there is also the added bonus of a unique marble swimming pool. You enter the estate up a private drive through olive groves, and yet you're only minutes from Montepulciano by car, and within a leisurely drive of Pienza, Montalcino and even Siena itself. I'm currently relaxing in one of the Villa's sizeable junior-suites, gazing out at the sunset before dinner. So why am I writing this review? Well it's about time I helped some other people discover this gem, and frankly, what else are smart-phones for?

A beautiful, peaceful villa with a large private park around it. The superior suite is super big and comfortable. Although the villa doesn't have a restaurant, it offers the right measure of services including breakfast, drinks, laundry etc.

This is a beautiful villa with spacious rooms and outstanding views. Stefania and her staff were awesome! They went out of their way every day to make sure we had a great stay. I would love to stay here again.
