Gorgeous restaurant, great location in the town of Barga. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, helped us with any queries we had and definitely made the experience complete.Food was amazing, tasted lovely and authentic, the chefs have a talent here. Only went in for a small bite to eat and a coffee but excited to come again and try the Torselli al ragú. The alioli and Brava source/salsa was the best we had ever tried- it had a lovely twang to it you don’t really see nowadays and it was completely home made.
10/10 would definitely recommend to everyone.

Happened upon this place around pranzo, and staff were very accommodating of our large family party. All the dishes exceeded expectations, including the burgers!... and we're professional burger hounds. Loved dining on their terrace facing the street, but also loved the understated art lounge interior. Could easily go back and hang out for several afternoons there.

Nestled in the charming town of Barga, Italy, this place offers a truly pleasant experience with its stunning view. Just a note, if you’re planning to enjoy the terrace, they seem to prefer seating for two. The location itself adds to the appeal, making it an ideal stop. We decided to drop by for some drinks, given our thirst, and were quite satisfied. The prices were reasonable, making it a recommendation from me. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to explore their food offerings, but if it’s anything like our drink experience, it’s likely worth a try.

Simple, hearty food at a reasonable price. It can be busy at times, but we have always found the service to be friendly and quick. There is a lovely terrace in the back - if a table is available there, you will get fantastic views of the valley and Apuan Alps. We have stopped in several times without a reservation for a meal or just a drink, admittedly not in the busy tourist season.

Incredible pasta with an amazing view. The staff were so much fun and they made our evening a blast. The Ravioli was great and the carbonara with black truffle was fantastic.

Place was recommended by our b&b. Who made a reservation on there outside terras with the better view. Pizza was great. Thin and crunchy with tasty ingredients. Aperitivo capretz is a no-brainer to start.

This restaurant is so delicious! If you’re looking for an alternative meal (that’s not Italian) this is the spot.

The ‘French fries’ are actually thin hand cut potatoes and are so good!

Delicious meal, each item was delicious and the portions were generous. The wine was particularly good and probably the highlight of the meal.

Such a lovely lunch! We reserved a big table on the patio. Wow! What a view! And the food was delicious. Loved the veggie burrito and the lamb skewers. Alessandro the chef was lovely to come say hello too. Can't wait to come back next summer for lunch! Grazie mille, ci vediamo presto!

Great little cafe/restaurant in the heart of Barga. Good wine and food - we tried the appetizer plate for two and it was delicious! We were served by the owner and he very friendly and speaks great English.

Great flavours in a superb mix of Italian and argentinian cuisines. Beautiful location and ambiance. A host that has lived the world and has taken its best dishes and combined them into a varied menu. A staff that simply knows how to cook spectacularly. The great views of the town and the mountains are also a plus and the honest prices help you explore the menu without having to take a 2nd mortgage on your home. 8 hour slow cooked in a Japanese professional grill "asado" Is a must have and "empanadas" starter can't miss at your table when you visit this wonderfully achieved restaurant. 5 stars out of 5, would totally recommend... Don't miss this great experience.

I love Capretz! My absolute favourite restaurant in Barga. The blend of Italian and Argentinian cuisine works so well - chef Alejandro's empanadas must be tried! Gianpaulo is a wonderful host and has curated a wonderful wine list. Bravo tutti.

I highly recommend this splendid place! The town of Barga is simply beautiful and Caffe’ Capretz reaches its standards! Their tuna salad is fresh and plentiful, the saltimbocchi alla romana are an explosion of flavour. I particularly recommend the calzone with prosciutto cotto. The waiters are cheerful and the service is pretty quick. Their bathroom is very pleasant and has disposable toothbrush and toothpaste sets for its guests, a classy touch. The only negative thing is that most of the food is slightly too salty (for my taste). Other than that its a great place to eat out! (Ve lo dice una italiana italianissima!)
