Best sandwiches I’ve had in Italy. We were in Matera for 3 days and ate there all 3 days. The owners are absolutely amazing. Felt like home. All the sandwiches are spectacular and affordable. You cannot miss this place if you’re staying in Matera

An awesome place to enjoy a sandwich in Matera. The lady who was working, was very friendly and helpful. She even showed us each ingredient that had for the sandwiches. I definitely recommend this place!

Authentic place just outside historic centre. Amazing sandwiches, fresh and delicious, please very reasonable. Would highly recommend the Puccia porchetta

The shop is really clean and tidy. Food was super great, panini bread was the perfect texture and salami was really high quality. The owner also kind and nice. We had a good rest there. Definitely recommended 👍🏻

I’m not lying if I say I ate here the best sandwich I had in my life. I ordered the Puccia con Prosciuttino di Suino Nero Lucano, stracciatella, rucola e noci sbriciolate and it was served on warm bread. I don’t have enough words to describe how good it was. Definitely I am saving this place to go again when visiting Matera next time. Grazie!

Delicious sandwiches! Every ingredient is high quality, lots of choices. Great for something quick on the go or there’s nice seating outside. Price to quality unbeatable and a great selection of local beer and wines.

Had delicious vegetarian sandwiches there. Made at my request, as fresh as possible. I'd say gourmet taste. EXTREMLY friendly, helpful and caring owners. Great selection of dry Italian pasta, wines, local cofee and Italian food that can be stored in jars to buy.

Tornagusto is the perfect place to have aperitivo or sandwiches to take away. Delicious local products, everything is cut and prepared upon request to ensure a delicious and fragrant service.
I wish I had pictures of our paninis, but we could not resist the smell and ate it straight away ! And trust me, every bite was a pure bliss 🥲
Sadly it's our last day here but I will definitely keep Tornagusto in my books and recommend this great place to any of my relatives that would come and visit Matera !
