I stopped by while vacationing in Osaka, Japan to get a women’s haircut as all my layers have grown out. Being from California, I was glad that other reviews mentioned they can speak English.

Appointment process: I called a day prior and was glad that they were able to fit me in the following morning. I was also given instructions on how to find the salon (Tip: Google Maps only takes you to the general vicinity of the building. The actual salon is located inside the brown building and you do have to take the elevator up).

Cut: I received my haircut from Keiko. She was so sweet and professional. I loved her kind energy. We had an initial consultation of what I wanted before my hair was washed. She gave her suggestions and also valued my opinions. Her cuts are so precise and she is a perfectionist, you can tell she is really passionate about her job. After my hair was blow dried, she went through a second time with scissors just to make sure all the strands were even before she styled it.

Experience: Of all my haircuts I’ve ever received living in Los Angeles, this will forever be my favorite cut. I love dressing into the robe they provide, them storing my belongings so I didn’t have to worry, the massage, etc. The experience was magical and my hair has never looked so perfect and even after air drying. If I ever find myself in Osaka again, I will definitely stop by but for now will always be dreaming about this experience.

Had an excellent haircut with Hiroshi! He and his wife run this small salon in unit 1508 and are absolutely amazing. Hiroshi has a vast amount of experience as a stylist around the world and speaks fluent English. He asked me what I wanted my hair cut to look like and it turned out exactly as I imagined. Prior to the cut my hair was shampooed and conditioned using an automated machine which was really unique and I got a scalp and shoulder massage as well. Definitely recommend this salon to others!

I have had the pleasure of visiting K Studio New York more than once. Each time, I have been welcomed warmly and accommodated beyond expectations. (They helped me get a haircut within the limitations of my work schedule at their personal time-expense.)

The owner and stylist, Hiroshi, is very personable and remembered details of our talks from previous visits. As a resident of New York in the past, he is familiar with many hair types and speaks English very well. I recommend this salon to everyone, but especially as a comfortable place for foreigners to feel at ease.

While getting a hair wash, I always receive a relaxing scalp massage, and a neck and back massage while sitting in the chair. The overall experience has been wonderful, and a great haircut is the cherry on top of the cake.

I look forward to my next visit!

THE best hair salon in Osaka, hands down! The experience and skill of Keiko and Hiroshi is incredible - super knowledgeable, always professional and so friendly. They cater very well to foreign hair and provide excellent service in English.

I was visiting a friend in Osaka and wanted a haircut but was worried about my limited Japanese. She brought me here and the experience and cut were wonderful! Hiroshi, the owner, lived in New York for years and he was friendly, charming and highly skilled. I would happily make this my regular salon if I didn't live on the other side of the world.

Highly recommended for any English-speakers in Osaka. The owner, Hiroshi, speaks English very well, and does a really good job of being welcoming and inviting. He was very accommodating, even though I arrived 15 minutes late. He even gave me a discount at the end, resulting in a very good price for an hour of service. The haircut also ended up looking very good - he asked some clarifying questions beforehand to make sure he knew what I wanted.

It was a lovely experience with highly skilled staff. My dry and curly hair is very hard to manage, even for hairdressers in Europe but Hiroshi was perfect at bringing my hair back to life again. I completely recommend to everyone and I will be back whenever I’m in Osaka again.

A very pleasant experience at this hair salon - even for those who, like me, usually dread getting a hair cut.
Unlike other places in Osaka, the hair stylists here actually DO speak English and don't panic when they see a foreigner. The owners are very experienced with Western hair and work professionally. My stylist Keiko knew what I wanted/needed before I even spoke a word. Very customer-oriented, they will listen to your needs and consult with you before cutting and while cutting.
Another advantage of this place is the cozy atmosphere and the privacy that is provided. There is a changing cabinet, where you can fix your make-up or change clothing. The seats are apart and angled so you don't have to face other customers or have them overhear your conversations.
I will definitely stop by again for future hair cuts.

Came to this salon during my trip to Osaka and had a fantastic experience. Did a haircut and single process color. Everyone at the salon was professional, friendly and spoke English. I am very satisfied with the services I received and would highly recommend this salon. Thank you Keiko and staff!

Fantastic place! Look past the modest interior and you'll receive exceptional service. As my first time having a Japanese haircut I had no idea what to expect. The hair washing involved a double shampoo head massage, then a conditioning massage and even a mini massage during the sink towel drying. Once back in my seat, I received a head and shoulder massage with something that smelt like teatree on my scalp. Then the owner and fluent English speaker, gave me the cut I wanted - nothing fancy just a trim to take off the last 4 months of travelling!
HIGHLY recommend. Also as a foreign traveller, they give you 20% off so my cut cost 3,500yen about £24GBP. I didn't have an appointment, walked in on a Friday afternoon.

Keiko and Hiroshi used to own a salon in NYC so they both spoke English which was a relief. I loved my new hair cut and color. Highly recommend this salon. They even gave me a discount for being a visitor!

This salon knows hair. Best color and cut I've had since moving to Japan. Professional, elegant salon. Not too fussy. Shampoo massage and later shoulder and head massage. By the way I have mousy brown hair I color blonde. No worries here- they both lived and worked in NY for years. I'm a new regular!

I received one of the best cuts I have ever had with Hiroshi. He was both personable and very professional. All correspondence with the KSNY Osaka studio to make the appointment as well as followup was prompt. All the staff at the studio were very friendly, professional and helpful.

I can not say enough good things about this place! I went here after getting a bad haircut that had really messed up my hair. They were not only able to fix, but turn it into a really good style. Hiroshi-san has a lot of cool stories from his time in New York and always takes a lot of time to go over your cut with you. Great service and a nice atmosphere.

This salon knows hair. The best hair cut experience in Japan! Bilingual owner Hiroshi-san has the innate to quickly identify your hair type, come up with professional advice, and even foresee how the hair will look like in 2 weeks. It was also a privilege to hear his adventure in the Big Apple. The studio is spacious and the staff share great personality. The hair wash was amazing too! I would definitely recommend KSNY to both crossborder travellers and local residents.

Get your haircut here. Extremely experienced and friendly people and for the price it felt like a steal. The owner Hiroshi cut hair of celebrities in NY for ages and I felt like I was in good hands. Haircut came out perfect.

English speaking! Got my hair cut for a wedding, which I haven't gotten in over a year. They not only did a fine job, but gave me tips and suggestions on what brands to use in Japan, how I could maintain my hair going forward, and they even gave me a discount because "no need to charge full price, this was an easy cut". I tipped him extra for all his nuggets of wisdom (I asked first, because in Japan, tipping is rude)

Got a haircut and permanent straightening and am so happy with the results. My hair has never looked better! Great staff, english speaking (used to run a salon in NYC)- Highly recommend this place.
