This was a neat experience to round off all of the interesting things that we saw and did in Japan. I do wish that it was a longer voyage because it was both relaxing and beautiful. Pro tip: With the upgrade you have a dedicated area with nice air conditioning and padded seats that was spacious and had fantastic views and you also get to go up on the front of the ship which was pretty cool.

Don’t miss the sightseeing cruise from here. The port is small yet very efficient and clean. The view from this port is amazing. Boat is really clean. View from the boat is even more jaw dropping. A must see when the weather’s clear.

It was a unique conceptualized short cruise in Ashi lake of Japan with absolutely clear water.

Lifetime memory.

It has 3 decks and a snack bar. First and second decks are shaded, third deck is out in the sun. The third deck also has a VIP area.

No matter where you sit you will have beautiful panoramic views of lake Ashi and Mt.Fuji on a clear day.

Once you depart at Motohakone, it's a short walk to Tori Gate. There are also bus here for you to complete the Hakone Loop.

The port station is easily accessible and has a good waiting area for passengers as well and a manned ticket booth. During peak times you can wait a while. Plenty of spots to wait outside as well ans watch the boat arrive

Why is there a pirate ship in Japan? Not much use asking ‘why’ for anything in Japan – it just is, folks.

Enjoy this ferry ride to the other side. Great views, calm lake waters and a great view of that one Torri gate everyone lines up for hours for. (two birds, right?)

Curious – there is no swimming allowed in this massive lake. I mean none…which is odd, until I felt the water. It was ice cold…I bet you’d have a heart attack if you took the dip.

Taking the Pirate Ship is an absolute must. If you have the chance, I’d recommend lining up about 20 minutes at least maybe a little more for the ship. If you are closer to the front of the line than you will get a better seat on the boat. You cannot see the line from the top of the tourist area to gauge how long you can wait in line so just be warned

Decided to go on a whim and so glad we did. 2200JPY round trip from Togendai and worth every penny. It was so much fun to stand on the deck and watch the water and mountains go past, especially when Fuji-san made his appearance as we got to the south of the lake! We had plenty of time to explore at both stops. Would highly recommend!

A great experience! Rode the Cable Cars to the boats then used the Hakone free pass to get on the boat for free, It was relaxing and there were some great views, Sadly we could not see Mt. Fugi.

Great ride to view Mt. Fuji and all interest points throughout the lake. Make sure to get there early as I think there are only 2 ships.

Also great for a more scenic transfer to different points as you get to view Mt. Fuji from the lake.

The Hakone Pirate Ship is a thrilling way to explore the stunning scenery of Lake Ashi in Hakone. Sailing aboard this iconic vessel, modeled after European pirate ships, is an adventure in itself. With majestic views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding mountains, it's a memorable experience that combines both excitement and natural beauty.

The Hakone Pirate Ship at Tōgendai Port is a popular tourist attraction located on the shores of Lake Ashi in Hakone.

I arrived at Tōgendai Port during sunset, and the sight was truly breathtaking. The sky was painted with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple, reflecting beautifully on the calm waters of Lake Ashi.

The cruise itself is a delightful experience, offering a unique way to explore the natural beauty of Hakone. These pirate-themed boats offer scenic cruises across the lake, providing passengers with stunning views.

The view here is just amazing and the ship service is just perfect. Best way to move around the lake and have a great time, the ship offers a lot of space and the restaurant where you can wait is delicious.

This was a fantastic way to travel from the gondola to the bus stop. The ship itself was clean and beautiful. The lake was gorgeous, and the scenery was breathtaking. I would absolutely do this again.

It was a magnificent experience and opportunity to see and experience the view of the Mt. Fuji.

The weather was perfect with such a good breeze. We were on a 2-day hakone pass but we only went their for a day as our days are limited to see and experience the whole tokyo japan.

We would love to experience more of Japan next time.. 😍

An incredible and beautiful cruise across the lake in Hakone! Let me be clear and say that you need to get the First Class ticket for this ride. It's less than $5 to upgrade from the basic Economy Class but trust me, it's worth your experience and you'll get better photos/videos. The views during this ride was amazing and it felt so crisp and clean to be in nature. If you're standing in the first class section, it's much smaller once you're up on the deck. The economy folks are all jammed in the middle/end of the ship and they end up pointing their cameras towards you in first class.

The whole experience leading up to this ride was beautiful and worth every minute, especially when it's sunny; can't say the same when the weather is cloudy. I didn't spend much time inside the ship but I assume it's worth exploring if you're allowed to but the deck is where everything is at.

Enjoy the sea and mountain views from the ship. If you want a better sea view, you can upgrade your ship ticket. There are enough seats for all passengers, so don't worry about finding a seat.

It looks very fun! It was too foggy to ride the day we went, but we took pictures from the dock and ate lunch at the pirate themed cafeteria. Kaizoku!

Fun experience with the pirate ship. The first class pass was worth it to beat the lines on top of getting a separate area for first class ticket holders only.

I usually give 5 stars, because I like many things, but for this ship ride, I would have liked to be able to give 6 stars!
It had a really nice design outside and inside and the view during the ride was awesome, too!
For anyone easily getting sea sick: The ride was pretty smooth and I would give it a try! :)
