Tateishi Park

The park is wonderful. You can see the whole view of Lake Suwa. There is a parking space and mechanical machine for hot and cold drinks. The only thing that I didn’t like was the toilet opposite to parking lot. It looked unmaintained so it was difficult for me to use. Otherwise, it is such a great place to be during day or night.

Good view point to see the whole lake, quiet and peaceful. However, at night it's a bit dark, drive safe !

Beautiful view-point from Tateishi Park. We took a small detour while driving to Matsumoto - was so worth it! Would recommend going if you’re heading through the area.

Definitely a great view that's worth the trip up. It's a small park at the top of a mountain,with some playgrounds hidden among the trees,and a slide that i would have went on if not for the rain😆

If you intend to hike up,make sure you have a gps,though there are some footprints on the road to guide(not at every turn though). If you are taking the bus,do note of the bus timings,they're not very frequent. If you take a taxi up,strongly recommend to have the taxi wait for you,unless you can call to book the taxi (else you'll have to walk bout 20-30min down). Of course,if you hike,the scenery at different parts down the is also quite worth it.

As of 26 Nov, sunset was at 16:34 and it got more crowded by that time, better check it out and plan ahead, otherwise you’d spend more time to wait for such beautiful sunset. It’s better to drive up there, although a few people went there on foot, probably took them at least 30mins to walk up from town. Carpark space is quite limited and queuing would not take too long given a lot of people stayed there for approximately half an hour.

Walking up will definitely take longer than expected… I was only lucky enough to hitchhike a couple of minutes (thanks Shinri!) to reach the park - would have definitely been running after my evening train leaving Suwa, otherwise.

Quite the magical experience staring over the vast lake. Listen to the Your Name theme song while there, of course. And please go at sunset for me. I really wish I could have.

But just to note that, walking to that park is a bit tough, but for someone who likes enjoying hiking and scenery. Worth to try

Provides an amazing view over Suwa lake and Suwa itself. In general a very tranquil place and not too busy. Offers some play area for kids and a long slide down as well.

Also a butterfly park and some nice garden walks guaranteed.

The very best view of lake suwa. We went up on hire ebike and it was a great ride. The view was stunning but we had perfectly clear sunny day

It's really great place to walk around. To get the view of suwa lake and night view of suwa city.

An iconic spot for fans of Your Name. It's about a mile from the train station and basically all uphill. Taking the stairs is fun, but a workout; the road is easier but takes a little longer. Either way, worth it. Beautiful scenery.
