Dr. YU Clinic

The sweetest & most competent doctor ever! He took us in last minute for an emergency appointment as two Canadian tourists. He is so easily accessible by his WhatsApp that we can find on his website. He prescribed and gave us the medication we needed for an acute pharyngitis.

He explains everything in detail & super clearly. His english is really good! I greatly recommend as it is clear that he cares about patient care. I wished he was my doctor back home.

Dr Yu was very gentle, patient and friendly with me. He was fluent in English and offers his support by saying to contact him anytime in case the insurance company needed any more supporting documents. Best to message him over WhatsApp before your planned arrival, and bring along your credit card. Recommended clinic to visit if you're a foreigner :)

First off, what an amazing doctor. He booked me an appointment the day I called. His English is perfect and he explains everything in detail. He listened to everything I had to say before he gave me a solution even though it was later than his hours of operation.

Second, he clearly shows you your diagnosis and repeats anything until understood. He insists on contacting him personally on his WhatsApp for any issues or questions. Gave us all the necessary papers for travel insurance swiftly. The clinic is clean, tidy and very easy to find since it’s near a train station.

Most importantly he will provide the pills/medication you need on the spot if he has them in stock.

Again, an absolutely amazing experience. Couldn’t be more thankful.

I’ve had a horrible cough since I got to Osaka. Initially I went to the hospital who told me it was nothing and then I came to see Dr. Yu once my symptoms did not improve a couple of days later. I’ve really struggled to find an English speaking doctor, but Dr Yu’s English is very advanced. He did some tests and prescribed me more medicine as he thinks I have something else so I will see how it goes going forward. I would highly recommend him as a doctor. He’s also always available and is extremely accommodating.

We were turned away at other places because they didn't speak English. Then I was referred to this agency by hotel employees. Very nice doctor, speaks good English. Good and clear explanation. I felt heard and helped. I was able to continue my journey thanks to the doctor. My big thanks for that!

Today went to see Dr. YU for my foot pain (Grout) I most have a very good time eating and drinking that I forgot I can’t do that at home. Lucky I bought Travel Insurance to claim for the medical fees. Very good Doctor and can speak English and explain everything to me. Remember to paid by credit card no cash accepted.

Je suis une Française récemment arrivée au Japon pour un voyage entre amis. Malheureusement une fois arrivé, j'ai eu des douleurs à l'oreille qui se sont intensifiées, ce qui m'a obligé à voir un médecin. J'ai eu la chance dans mon malheur de tombé sur Le Dr.YU Miyazaki, qui ouvert le dimanche et proche de mon hôtel, a été des plus compréhensif et attentionné en répondant rapidement a mon message envoyer depuis sont site pour une consultation d'urgence. Il m'a tout de suite prise en charge et nous a tout bien expliquer sur mon diagnostique, comment je l'ai attraper etc, dans un Anglais très facile pour que moi et mes proches comprenions bien les choses, allant même jusqu'à faire des dessins explicatifs. Il nous a également, tout bien expliquer sur l'assurance voyage et les papiers a transmettre a notre retour. Il a même proposer de continuer a discuter sur WhatsApp en cas de problèmes ou de questions supplémentaires que nous pourrions avoir après la consultation.
Je recommande donc fortement ce médecin à toute personne, japonais ou étranger nécessitant une prise en charge médicale de qualité.
J'aurrai bien aimer qu'il soit mon médecin traitant en France.🙏🩷

Dr Yu spoke good English, explained things clearly and I was able to get an appointment quickly. However for a basic consultation and a prescription I was charged ¥99000 (625 USD). I wish I had of asked for pricing before visiting as it cost me 10 times as much as similar services elsewhere is Osaka

I am echoing the review by “Shin” below. I didn’t end up seeing this doctor but instead went to a local doctor at Amakata Clinic nearby. I just walked-into that clinic (I’m an Australian traveller in Japan) and within 15 minutes I was seen by Doctor who prescribed me medicine. I then crossed the road and took the prescription to the pharmacy. The doctor spoke a little bit of English but we used to translator and it was fine. Appointment was 3500yen plus 3500yen at the pharmacy for a few different medications to treat a chest infection. 99,000 yen is a disgusting price.

Avoid this clinic at all cost! Was charged ¥99000 (SGD800+) for basic consultation and medication. Definitely not worth the ¥99000 hefty bills. If you’re a foreigner with travel insurance, be prepared to pay this price and dr will reassure you that it is 100% insurance claimable, and assuring you that further documents will be provided if needed through WhatsApp.

Yes, dr is fluent in English and is detailed, but that shouldn’t justify the price charged for a general GP consultation…

Wasn’t expecting such unethical behaviour of a doctor considering it’s a country well known for their superb work ethic… 👎🏻
