The City Bakery

The bakery opens at 7.30, pretty early for restaurants in Osaka. Finding it was a bit of a challenge for a tourist in the vast Osaka Station City. The atmosphere was wonderful, coffee was decent. I bought an earl grey chocolate scone, very balanced taste and not too sweet. Expect to wait for a table if you are in a group.

It is located in the basement level and very close to Osaka Station. It is a Great place for breakfast. The bread and the french toast are so yummy.

This is always popular for any occasions. It's started in N.Y since 1990 and opened in 2013 at GRAND FRONT OSAKA. They now have shop in Tokyo too. The founder,Maury Rubin is very talented and has 3 concepts such as "quality", "creative" and "concept". That's for sure if you go this bakery, you can exactly feel that concepts right away. Prezel Croissant sandwich is very tasty and satisfying portion. The top pic is my creative sandwich at home.:))

This is my favorite coffee shop in Umeda. I go there pretty often whenever I am in Osaka. Amazing coffee and their burgers are so good, too! Love their carrot cake and quiche as well. And I love sitting at this super-long wooden table.

Yummy bake cheese tart, crispy crust served and a cold plate! Fragrant Mocha with distinct layer of milk, coffee and cocoa powder.

Clean, cool and lively environment. Wooden and black theme with dim lights.

Of course there is a bakery with full range of bread and pastries.

Friendly and patient staff.

Great cappuccino, delicious pastry and fresh smoothies. When you start craving the sweets from the west - this is your place 💜

Tasty and crispy crossiant. Texture is kind of different from what I usually have in SG (which is more soft and tender on the surface). Can try.

By far the best croissant I’ve ever had. Coffee is good too.

There is no good hamburger without a good bread. Best bun ever with a 100 beef patty. Cheese and avocado topping taste amazing. Great waterfall fountain views Sex and the city series coffee shop. Great time there! Million times better than Starbucks!

We spotted this hidden gem in Grand Front while I got lost in Osaka Station City underground so we decided to try it the next day for breakfast. After the breakfast, we immediately loved this place and we came here couple more times during our trip. The breakfast is good, the coffee is great, the bakery is delicious and you must try the hot chocolate with marshmallows! It's really good. Besides, the environment is very comfortable and the servers are very friendly!!

The best cafe mocha I’ve ever had and all of the pastries were delicious! I would definitely come here all the time if I lived in the area.

I gave 5 stars because while you sitting here you can see beautiful stair themed fountain.

The city bakery is my favorite bakery. I highly recommend it. It is located at Grand Front. It is very near the umeda station. So it is very convenient for you to go there.
This shop sells many kinds of baked goods, in particular the croissants are its most delicious goods. I have never eaten such a special croissant. It is topped with sesame seeds. Saltiness and sweetness are mixed. The croissants always make me happy.
The atmosphere is also my recommendation point. At the shop, you can feel as if you were in New York, because its interior is based on its original shop in New York.
I want to give THE CITY BAKERY five stars. You should go there. I insure you may not be able to forget the delicious croissants.

Excellent breads, pastries, and coffee! We returned three times during our stay in Osaka.

I’m from NYC and know a solid bakery when I see one! Delicious, high quality baked goods and nice sandwiches and break to takeaway.

Great spot for a close to western style breakfast. Coffee is great, will do a double shot if you ask (I have found this difficult for everyone except Starbucks in Japan) and the bakery items are delish. Try the French toast breakfast and the pear and ginger corn muffins 😊

Great for early morning breakfasts. For lunch be prepared to wait 15-20 min for a seat. The croissants are incredible. Would recommend the chocolate croissant.
