Super relaxing spot with so many baths. To start you get a wristband that you use to pay for things while in yukata, so drinks or the bar are paid for when you leave. For the actual baths the courtyard has a awesome foot bath, the actual bath include green tea bath, a "silk bath"(idk what was special about it but my skin felt so smooth), a carbonated bath and a couple of variation of straight hot spring water; undiluted, cooled indoor, and cooled outdoor. Such a cool spot and the view is beautiful.

So worth the visit. I felt like I was transported into a studio ghibli movie when in the onsen. We went around 7pm and stayed until close at 10:30pm~ and it still bustling with people on a Thursday night. Location itself was a bit hard for us to figure out how to get to, and probably given how late we got there, the shopping centre itself didn’t have much options as other shopping centres.

Overall it was both relaxing and fun. They even have the reading room that was like a lecture hall of reclining chairs.

So much to do here; lovely rooftop with little pools to dip your feet in, sooo many rooms with many different activities. It's like those summer festivals (with spa treatments) you'd see in those Japanese animes and dramas! I didn't get to explore everything last i went, so I would definitely come again!

I enjoyed my stay here. The place is like an amusement park for overworked people like me, where i can relax and enjoy. Facility similar to zen decorations and clean. Its a shame that we came in here late and restaurants are already close. Will definitely come back here again.

The amount of bath options available and the differences were really nice, lots of spots to wash yourself too and even a cold bath to swap between if that's your thing. The extras around the place like the little game spot, the cafe, the manga/rest spot were all great additions, would highly recommend and the price is well worth it.

Amazing experience from start to finish. We both have tattoos and the staff were helpful getting us the appropriate tattoo covers. Onsen is beautiful we spent half a day here!

Super fun place. It is a mix between relaxation and having fun.

They have 7 spa rooms each with its unique twist. Also has a public bath.

They have a rooftop terrace where you can soak your feet. And plenty of photo ops

Yukata rentals are included.

If you have a tattoo they offer stickers to cover up so if you have one or two its not a problem.

There is a restaurant inside as well as an arcade.

payments beside the food at the restaurant and arcade are made through a wristband so please be weary.

It's a really fun place where you can spend hours!

At Solaniwa Onsen, the experience extends beyond just soaking in mineral-rich waters; it's a journey into Japanese tradition and hospitality. Donning the exquisite Japanese Yukata provided, I embarked on a cultural immersion, feeling a sense of reverence for the customs observed. While adhering to the strict tattoo policy, I appreciated the opportunity to fully embrace Japanese customs and cover my small tattoos respectfully.Exploring the expansive bathing house, I was delighted by the diverse array of baths, from tranquil indoor pools to invigorating outdoor ones. Between dips, I indulged in a culinary adventure, sampling an array of delectable dishes from the on-site restaurants.

The entertainment options were equally impressive, with various games and activities adding to the lively atmosphere. Solaniwa Onsen isn't just a destination for relaxation; it's a celebration of Japanese culture and hospitality, inviting guests to immerse themselves in an unforgettable experience.

The private onsen is top notch. Unbeatable. Very relaxing, romantic, and private. The staff is so caring. Visited from Canada :)

The facilities are great. Excellent place to relax. A bit off the beaten path, so it took a bit to find. Otherwise the bath was very relaxing. Reading room is all the way in the back. Need to take stairs to get to 3rd floor. Otherwise everything on 2nd with the actual bath on 5th. Great place to stay, refresh, clean up and relax.. look to spend some time

Note: supposed to be discount price when booking after 5pm, but we had to pay full price on checkout? 🤔

Grabbed a private room with the family and really enjoyed it. Staff friendly and helpful as we checked in. Great experience wearing some traditional dress.

Recommend enjoying the gardens etc prior to heading to any private room.

The hotel onsen is next to the station.
You get dressed in yukata! It's a superb experience!
There is an outside place where you can join people, a foot bath onsen, and a place to drink.
There was an onsen bath where the water was pulled down from 1000m underground and not filtered to be pure which is very rare in a city!
There was a private onsen for couples or family which I couldn't go to because it was fully booked so maybe think about booking it before!

a really great experience! we booked a private onsen, which was very nice as my boyfriend has tattoos - we didn't wear the robes throughout the facility and instead explored before changing, because we didn't buy covers for his tattoos. the facility is lovely, the bath was amazing, and check-in and check-out was a breeze! definitely recommend booking a private room ahead of time :)

Fantastic onsen experience. I've been to bathhouse around the world and this is definitely one of the better ones.

I'd recommend spending at least half your day here as there are so many activities and food/drink options that they have available during the day time. I made the mistake of coming in the evening and there just wasn't enough time to do everything or they had closed already.

Everything is charged through a wristband you're given when you check in and you pay at the end when you check out.

The venue is quite large and you should be taking your time to slowly walk through and enjoy each of the amenities. Very foreigner friendly and great for a first onsen experience.

This was my first time going to an Onsen and I loved it. For any travellers looking for a friendly, clean Onsen, this is a great option. (Please note I don’t have tattoos so this may be different).

On arrival you are given towels and a kimono bath robe. You can make your way to the 5th floor for the baths. You can take your little towel in with you for modesty/ to wipe your brow. There are lots of baths and a sauna - and a great view of the gardens.

Aside from bathing there are games, food, photo spots - good for a family day out. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I have mid size tattoos so we booked the private onsen. The private onsen was amazing and the rooms were clean and very much feel like “at home”.

Staff had amazing service. We highly suggest to book your tickets & rooms online so that you have an easy check in. Some staff speak English for those who are worried about not knowing any Japanese. Booking online will save you lots of time.

While walking around the facility, you need to cover all your tattoos! This is non-negotiable!Tattoo covers were not the best quality. If you sweat, they come off easily and hard to re-apply. Would suggest you walk around the facilities first, then do your public/private bath, then exit the facilities.

Other than the quality of the covers, it was an amazing experience!!

If you’re visiting and would like a relaxing day, definitely try out this place. It’s very similar to how a spa works. Basically you pay an admission fee and then you can use the pubic bath all day if you like. You’re required to change into yukatas and walk around bare foot unless you are exiting to the terrace garden. They also have warm water foot soaks for those who don’t feel comfortable going into the bath. You can also get a private room if you don’t like they idea of being naked with others of your own gender. Note that even if you book a private suite, you’ll still have to pay the admission fee, which is about 2600 Yen. The private suite gets you a tub in an outdoor area but it’s still private as nobody is able to see you. So don’t worry about if the next door can see you naked. They cant. The private suite lasts 2 hours which then you will have to check out. If you get hungry, there’s food and drink available to purchase. If you’re tired, there’s resting rooms.
