Animate Osaka Nipponbashi

A visit to Denden Town would not be complete without dropping into Animate. Filled with all things manga and anime related, it is definitely a go to place for collectors and fans alike.

As seasons change, so do the collections as well. There are the super popular series which might stick around a little longer, but don't expect items to be available or in stock all the time.

Some have also reported that prices here are more expensive, which I did not find to be the case when comparing with other shops or even other Animate branches as well.

Expect to spend at least an hour or two going through all the floors with all the items, especially when you start hunting and poking into the back shelves, where you might find some hidden treasures there.

You can find lots of new and used anime and manga related goods here. The most abundant collection you can have in Osaka Kansai area.

They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, which was project sekai plushies in a certain style, but they had a very large variety of merchandise for a good price. Would recommend to any fan of any anime or anime game.

Do pay a visit if you are an anime fan. Lots of merchandise and souvenirs to browse through. The top floor is dedicated to cards and some can be very pricey based on their rarity.

No need to say much. There are wide range of books, DVDs, goods. Animation enthuasist must go.

Great store, absolutely loads of stuff. From manga to small collectibles to figures, staff were kind and were more than willing to help. 👍👍

This entire area is like akihabara in Tokyo there's tons of figures to buy from cheap small ones to pin up figures! You can walk store to store and get lost! There's so many things like dbz and demon slayer. Hobbyist dream

0/5 for what we were looking for, but overall a very well stocked store. Gave it a 5 as the volume of stuff didn't disappoint we just didn't find the specific thing we were looking for.
It had many levels with all the latest anime things. We were specifically on the lookout for dragonball stuff which ended up being a bust. If you're into cards, pins, figurines and all thing in-between it's a neat place to visit.

For tourists who hold a passport outside of Japan you can get duty free (8% off) if you spend over ¥5400 on new releases. 1st floor is official books and new releases. 2nd floor is new releases for merch like charms and blind boxes. Copics and some other drawing supplies are near the middle isle. Cosplay and wigs are in the back. 3rd floor is 2nd hand goods so previous releases you can't get in the official shop anymore. It's the best floor for a tourist to visit imo since prices are generally cheaper than floor 2. 3rd floor also has a small doujinshi section near the back if you're interested in buying Viktor's embossed nipples (for a friend of course). Card games are on the very top floor.

Each floor has it's own experience. There was a floor for DVD/CDs, character items, pre-owned items, manga, and cards. It is a perfect spot if you are looking for merch and souvenirs.

They had a promotion for the # of Genshin Impact items we purchased. I got a few collectibles as an added gift. I would swing by again!

They've got everything you need from comics to merchandise to card games and board games. They even have adult content for whoever is interested. 6 floors of animated madness. Enjoy

I had some very unique experience here. There is quite a few section of the adult manga. It's amusing to see locals browsing it peacefully. Otherwise it's a great place to hang out for a manga/anime lover

The best Animate I visited (compared to the ones I visited around Tokyo, even including Akihabara's).

It's huge! Bookcases of manga seem endless, you can also find posters, merchandise and doujins there. So I would say if you are in Osaka, it's a must -see. Warning, lots of adult oriented stuff.

If you are a fan of anything to do with animate do yourself a favour drop by and you will not regret it!

Very nice place with lots of anime goods. Like most stores it will be filled with the obvious anime characters and some hidden gems.

Note: I wouldn’t come to any store with the expectation to find that one anime character unless it’s super popular.

Every anime manga and CD you can find at here, but not figure. This shop has survived for a very long time, there has 5 level for the shop you have to pay for everything that you want to buy on the single floor so you better have go through all the floor before you make the payment. For the safety reason outside the shop it is not possible to take photos, due to the Japanese culture.

Used and new stuff. All otaku related stuff, find it all at animate! 5 floors of whatever your poison is, figures, TCG, doujins, manga, BD, DVD, CD, Everything you need!

Great Places, Not as many store as tokyo akihabara. However, able to get some good figures with cheaper prices.

It's a very good space if you need something about anime. All floors have different products and you can find whatever you want. In the afternoon is kind of busy, but is a very good place.
