Shioiri Park

"Oh-kanzakura" were early bloomers, and they had been in full bloom in the park. The trees grew along the river and formed a flower tunnel. Magnificent.

There were a lot of tourists and locals who came to visit even on weekdays.

I was lucky to take a few snapshots and enjoyed a walk under the blossoms.

Cherry Blossom update as of 31 March 2024: have a row of full bloom cherry blossoms lined up right outside Minami-senju station.
Less than 5 people were there taking photos, so it is a nice photo spot! Be mindful as it is near cycling area, so quite a number of bicycles will cycle past.

You may walk about 5km that will direct you towards Asakusa.

If you are coming to Tokyo for cherry blossom, you can choose to visit Shioiri Park instead of those “main” cherry blossom location due to the delay of this year. There is a lot of Sakura trees along the river side.

So grateful that we managed to see full-bloomed sakura scenery in this park!! The long walking journey to this park from our hotel was totally worth it!

Beautiful place for sakura seeing and alot of pink sakura there still some will bloom but there were enough of sakura for taking photo and also not soo crowded you can find a place to sit and to take photo also the river next is beautiful view
If you have children there is playground nearby

I totally in love this place! Big, quite, nice environment, running road along side the river ti Asakusa, nice to see Sakura as well.

It’s a nice park, but don’t be trolled by the other reviews, if looking for cherry blossom/ Sakura. The buds will need another week or so

At the north east side I finally found sakura blooming 2024 march 27th

28/3/2024 So far the most cherry blossoms blooming since arriving in Tokyo on 25/3.

Definitely there's sakura blooming. Not a bot unlike some other reviews

Best way to get there is when you walk out of the m-Senju station you head towards the exit to Uniqlo / Bus Terminal (if you catch a bus it’s easier we didn’t see buses so we walked about 20mins)

Went here March 19, 2024 to see cherry blossoms that bloomed already since other locations haven't yet and it did not disappoint.

Fantastic park!

Plenty of space, large climbing structure, beautiful trees and clean toilets.

Ideal age for kids to play is 4 years + but there is a small kids section too. I brought a 2, 4 and 7 year old and all had a fun time. Plenty of bike parking too.

Some areas are closed for safety sake or repair? Not sure.

One of the places to enjoy sakura. The combination of the pink sakura, green grass, blue sky, and the river are just beyond beautiful.

Love this place. A beautiful parks near rivers with playgrounds for kids. The view on a nice weather is superb. There’s also rental barbecue place open in summertime. A lot of runners also loving this place for a run. Highly recommended for a visit.

Beautiful park by the water. Was there on July 29th for the Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival.

Good Spot for Sakura and not crowded.

Overwhelmingly beautiful park. Just go there with a book to read and relax in a pleasant atmosphere for hours by the riverside.

Went at night but still wonderful 🌸
