Hotel New Otani Osaka

I visited this place around nine months ago in April, and although my memories are a bit hazy, I have fond recollections of my stay. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, ensuring that my experience was pleasant from start to finish. The bed and sofa were exceptionally comfortable. The rooms were beautifully and well designed, like they actually put some thought into it The location itself was peaceful and quiet, offering a tranquil ambiance and a delightful view. Moreover, the place was family-friendly, making it an ideal choice for travelers with children. Overall, I highly recommend this place based on my positive experience.

Lovely hotel. Great location near train station and Osaka Castle. Room is large with great amenities and very quiet. We enjoyed the buffet. Sparkling clean, great job Kawaji for keeping our room so nice! Loved the fridge with free water and kettle for tea. Staff are very nice and polite. Excellent hotel will stay again!

Great stay. Good sized (and clean) hotel room, complimentary tea and coffee service everyday that they deliver to your room, and very hospitable staff. We booked a room with a view of Osaka Castle - it was beautiful during sunrise and sunset. Very close to the subway station!

Very nice hotel! Reminded me of some of the better hotels in Washington DC. Rooms were a good size for Japan. Lots of dining options at the hotel, mostly more ritzy restaurants. Walking distance to the JR station and lots of other restaurants. Staff was so very friendly to us. Nice view with large windows.

Top notch service, staff of all level were able to speak at least some English and duty managers and the like had a very good command of English, which I can't say the same for other hotels I stayed in Japan. Also, all the staff were very helpful, went out of their way to assist me.
The hotel itself is in a great location (of course, it depends where one wants to spend most time during the stay) and it is fairly central. A metro station and JR loop station are within 5 minutes walking distance, which makes getting anywhere quite convenient.
Depending on which side the hotel room is facing, Osaka castle is visible but this will cost extra and personally I don't think it's worth it as one is most likely to pay the sight a visit in person anyway.
Another thing is that across the road from the hotel, there is a some sort of event centre (Osaka Jo Hall) and a open baseball park where outdoor events and expo type deals go on. This is not a problem as the events all wind down by 8-9pm.
The hotel interior is great as far as the lobby and the restaurant are concerned, however the room itself, while clean was definitely dated and really could use renovation to bring it to 21st century. The size of the room is huge, of around dozen hotels I stayed in Japan, this was only one of two that I didn't have to squeeze myself to move around in a hotel room. It's all the more impressive for the price (not the cheapest but I would say it was a good value) and the location. (The other hotel was in Otsu, Shiga, so not quite a fair comparison but you get the idea) This was the only fly in the ointment that I can think of.
The breakfast buffet restaurant is very spacious and it serves a variety of food, both Japanese style and Western style. The restaurant staff, like the rest of the hotel staff were great. Some times (probably towards the end of the breakfast service time) one may have to wait in the queue a bit but there are many chairs available and I didn't have to wait too long.
I think they have a laundry service (a proper one, not a coin operated type - expected of a hotel of this caliber) but they can help you to get to a coin operated one if you ask (they even have a map and directions)
There are a few combinis, cafes and a mcdonald's within a couple of blocks.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel and I'd come back to stay here next time I'm in Osaka.

Big old hotel, good service and clean. Best location for Osaka Marathon!

Very close to Osaka Castle. I attended a kimono trade show in the upper floors, as well as had lunch in the cafe. Freshly squeezed juices, a lovely bakery, and excellent service.

There are many available staff to help with any service or request you may have. Very professional and helpful.

Incredible value. Before you even enter the hotel the staff is there to take your luggage inside, through check in and into your room. All of the staff encountered were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and offers an incredible welcome. The rooms were very spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The bathroom and furniture is quite dated, but it gives more of a classy nostalgic vibe instead of a rundown vibe. The icing on the cake is the incredible view of Osaka Castle from the room. It's also conveniently located a short walk away from the train station. 10/10 would happily stay here again.

Good breakfast, nice spa / gym, drinks on the 18 th floor. Reasonably priced. Friendly service . Stay on upper floors to enjoy added perks. I’d suggest to the new Otani to extend the perks for the executive floors /// all guests (( free or cheap drinks in the sky bar from 5:00 to 8:00 ///. Free use of spa in the morning or after a certain time in the evening…..

I booked Hotel New Otani Osaka because through some research, I've found out it was located very close to a beautiful castle (walking distance). To my surprise, the value was exceptional. Japan really isn't as expensive as people say. For around $130 USD a night, you get a very upscale room with direct view to a beautiful castle. Something similar to this in Europe or U.S. would easily cost double. The room was quite big, everything was very clean and the service is top notch.

Very nice hotel across the street from Osaka castle, the rooms are large and spacious. All of the staff I interacted with were extremely helpful and accommodating.

Location : 5*. It's only 3 minutes walk from Ōsakajōkōen station. Vry convenient place. Lots of nice eating places nearby. Just right behind the hotel, there is 7-11 and Mini Stop. Right in front of the hotel, there is another convenient store. In the hotel they even have machine money changer.
Staff very helpful and friendly. They saw us with bags from a distance, quickly came to us to help with our bags and showed us the way to check in. They speak good English too.
Room was nice, very clean and comfortable. But do not expect a big room.
Highly recommend to book the room with breakfast. Their breakfast is excellent!

Great location, if you are lucky you will be able to see Osaka Castle from your room, which is walking distance from hotel. Hotel is not far from city centre and commercial hub. Great restaurants and food.

The staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. The area around the hotel is exciting. Shops, train stations and so on are close by.

Beautiful hotel. Room was spacious and clean. All amenities are provided. Buffet breakfast were great. Staff also excellent and helpful.

For the price paid, I was extremely surprised at the value I was given. Rooms, service, everything was exceptional. Would not hesitate to return here again in the future and loved my stay even if it was only for one night

Superb view! I stayed in Superior Castle View Double. Spacious and clean room. It mas really comfortable stay.
