Rikuro Daimaru Umeda

precisely my type of cake, sweetness is not the main show here, the fragrance of the egg, the soft and fluffy texture, the low grease, all makes for a cake that you can eat lots and not get tired of it. the raisins are a bit unnecessary in my view. there's always a queue for rikuro cakes, and theyre always fresh out of the oven. definitely a must try for anyone visiting osaka.

Love this cheesecake (It’s the jiggly one!) We always get this cheesecake each time we are in Osaka. Be aware that there is two lines. One line is for the fresh cheese cake and the other is for the previously made. Do not fear, there will always be a line for the freshly made cheesecakes but either way you wont be disappointed! Get yourself some and you will enjoy this treat and continue to go back.

This place is an experience more than a cheese cake shop. A long line will (most probably) greet you as soon as you enter the area. But I have never enjoyed waiting in line - you can see the staff preparing cheese cake while you are waiting. If you are a foodie and enjoy cooking food as well, oh boy! What a delight watching cheese cake preparation and baking.

Eating it right out of the over has its own taste. Cheesecake is extremely fluffy, smooth and very mildly sweet (which is a good thing). The bottom layer of the cake has raisins sprinkled on the outer circumference.

Overall, it’s very fresh and tasty! Would recommend and buy again!

By the way, they charge for a spoon, knife and a fork (around 10 yen each).

We had to come here to try this piece of osaka delicacy and it definitely didnt disappoint. The store is located on the B1 level so after getting off of the umeda station, it might take some time to locate it. There was line when we got there but it was moving pretty quickly. The make the cakes fresh and give it to you straight off the oven ! It's very tasty and super soft !

There is a queue but it moves quickly. The cheesecakes are served warm and fresh. Don’t expect your American style dense cheesecake. Instead, it’s very light, fluffy and more egg-like. We like it!

The shop is always serving fresh cheesecakes straight out of the oven, and you can see the staff making them. The cake itself it's 18 cm long, and it's good for two people approximately.

thou may be kept in the fridge that last another 2-3 days, any longer the cake will start to dry up and harden.

If you have not had Rikuro Ojisan's Cake, this is a must buy.

It's only 685 yen and you'll get a huge cake. Yes, it'll look like a plain cake, but don't let the looks deceive you and be careful, you may eat the whole thing by accident. Softest cake ever.

There is another location in Dotonbori that has a long line and sometimes a police men is making sure the line is in control. It's in a great location for you to pick one up before heading home on the train.

Yummy cheese cake and must try. There are 2 lanes, one for fresh warm cake and the other one from same day. We went for the quicker lane as cake gets cold anyhow. Price is 975 yen. It is not so sweet, therefore must try. It is hard to find though and in the middle of the underground shopping center/station. Just follow google maps :)

Wow. Weekend long queue and more than an hour before you could finally obtained your fluffy cheese cake for 845 yen. We gave up to queue. Will try during week days with a shorter queue. The cheese cake is to die for especially the price.

Soft and fluffy! The line was quite long (around 12 people) but it moves pretty fast. I agree that this might not be the "cheese cake" people have in mind, but still it tastes good. The price is 765 yen/piece (Dec 2021).

I think it is the most delicious cheese cake I've ever had! The cheesecake is japanese version (not New York style), so it is very fluffy, moist, and especially when it is hot and very fresh from the oven, it just directly melts in the mouth, no need to chew! The price is worth it and affordable as well. Expect some long queues.

It is as good as they say and we’ll worth the queue. The queue goes pretty fast.

Don't listen to foreigners disappointed in this cheesecake because they don't understand it - it's amazing and custardy and oh so light and fluffy, but it's not a Western style cheesecake at all! Also you will eat far more than you expect since it is so light, easily you can eat 1/3 to 1/2 of a cake by yourself. Worth the wait! (And the line moves very fast)

Lovely little shop, staff is super friendly, menus with pictures and in English. The cheesecake at all, so don't expect to taste the same. Is somewhat of a extremely soft poundcake with cheesecake flavor. We loved it.
