Kanda-jinja is an absolutely stunning shrine that was one of my favorite places to visit across my entire trip. The beautifully maintained grounds and peaceful atmosphere greatly enriched my visit to this historic shrine, which was moved to this location in 1616, though it was originally established in 730—nearly 1,300 years ago.

There is also an adjacent gift shop that is accessible from the shrine grounds, featuring a wide array of goods as well as a café that serves ice cream cones and amazake, among other things. In my opinion, this is an absolute must-visit for anyone in the area!

Kanda Shrine is located in Akihabara, Chiyoda-ku. It is famous for being a tourist spot, and attracts a lot of people, irrespective of age, nationality, etc.

This shrine also has some good omamoris, for traffic safety, health, luck, etc.

From this shrine, one will be able to see Skytree. Would definitely recommend this shrine for shrine lovers.

I visited on a weekday evening and although it was already closed, the lights were on.
It gets very crowded during events and generally.
The cherry blossoms were beautiful on the day I visited. There was a big cherry tree.
There are stairs leading up to the shrine grounds.

This was a second time when I visited Kanda Myojin, it was interesting to enter the shrine via Otoko Zaka 男坂(a steep of stairs).
It is always a different feeling and positive vibes when you enter the shrine like places. There is interesting character inside for Omikuji (try the fortune). One must visit this place if roaming nearby Akihabara area.

We visited this place back in early March with a family of four, and the children were Ges five and seven. There were plenty to do for all ages, we visited this shrine around 11:00 and at that time it was already filled with tourist and local so it can get little crowded at parts of the shrine.

We decided to hire out kimono's for the day at a rental shop nearby and that was a very good experience while visiting the shrine.

We stayed near Ginza and this place like most of places I visited was very easy to navigate using the trains, it's tool roughly fifteen minutes to get there with mixed trains and walking children paces.

There were probably alot of the area we didn't explore and will revisit next time we are in Japan.

This place is the guardian of the central Tokyo area including Toyosu fish market. In early March I visited, and plum flowers were in full bloom. It's sick!

Just like every shrine in Tokyo, this embodies both the old and new that is so typical of Tokyo. Beautiful shrine, beautiful culture, beautiful people.

Very scenic and peaceful compared to Sensoji. There were sheltered benches with ceiling fans and convenience store nearby. Went there to buy their IT Protection Amulet on the way to Akihabara

Beautiful visit on the second day of the Japanese new year. Was lucky to see the Japanese lion dance just before noon. Crowd management was wonderful. If you do not plan to pray at the shrine, you could enter via the side entrance.

What a nice peaceful shrine. Finally I get to visit a more friendly attraction place. It wasn't busy when I got there but later by 2pm it was starting to get busy but not crowded like other temple in the advertisement for tourists. A nice 30 - 45 mins and quick pray visit. And I continue to do other area for city site viewing walk. The cleaning fountain is outside of the temple before you go in.

Beautiful shrine. I was told it was a shrine for good fortune and lot of business owners like to visit here. It was very beautiful at night.

A hidden gem, if you enter off the backside using the stairs. Seriously, no tourists come here, so you can really see how the locals worship their gods of fortune.

There's something pretty surreal to me about most wishes at a shrine being anime-themed. That's Akiba for you, I suppose.

Pretty chilled shrine which has a lot of locals coming to pray at. Have to go up a flight of stairs if coming from the station side.

You have to visit the Kanda Shrine when you are in Tokyo. I visited a Thursday at 7h30a.m. There were very few people. It was calm and serene and I was able to take beautiful pictures of the Shrine. I would recommend that you go back after sunset and take those beautiful night pictures with the Shrine lights on. Bring mosquito repellent

very enjoyable experience! Nothing to complain about. The shrine was beautiful and everyone was very respectful. The souvenir shop also contained a lot of items that are worth looking at.

This is one of the best shrines in Tokyo. It's a beautiful combination of older architecture and modern, with some of the most important Shinto deities honored. I highly recommend their summer festival, or going for the first shrine visit of the year.

Beautiful temple near Akihabara. We went today and there was a Shinto style wedding. There's also stamps in the basement of the cultural center and there was a room where idols were dancing if you paid for a ticket.
