Koji Kinutani Tenku Art Museum

I was blown away by their 3D show, amazing how each element is deconstruction to portray a inner microcosm. It is not usual for a traditional painter to be able to do digital animations so vividly. There is a VR of the artist describing what he does, he is eloquent for an artist. He uses a special technique fresco painting in his work which he learned in Venice.

Entered with a 3D glasses to view the special video that was created and linked with all the art pieces that are displayed in the museum.
The video was truly amazing and it’s so lively . Able to illustrate what the artist was trying to show to the viewers.

If you are a fan of Fresco-type painting, this exhibit has some good paintings to appreciate. Some of the paintings lean quite heavily to Japanese Mythology so a bit of knowledge will help you appreciate it more.

I Found this Museum to be so interesting and unique! The 3D show screen at the staff was so unique and captivating - it’s a very fun sensory experience. The artwork is bright and bold, and very authentically Japanese. Definitely recommended!

Beautiful artwork! I really took my time and enjoyed it here. The art was some of the most beautiful I’ve seen in a while. The museum exhibit is not too long especially for those that rushed through it. I spent about 1hr here and enjoyed the cafe views as well. I bought this in combo with the other building so it was a fair price!

This is perhaps my favorite museum that I have been to EVER. Koji Kinutani’s work is breathtaking and absolutely worth the visit. He uses vibrant colors to bring Japanese culture, history, and religion to life all while spreading positive messages about peace, cooperation, and respecting the environment. Many of the paintings in the exhibit are HUGE. Some paintings are intense while others are playful, but each one is unique and beautiful. When you enter, you are treated to a 3D movie that ties all of his various paintings of the most recent exhibit together. Much of the museum does not allow for photography, but I have included some pictures of areas where photos were allowed as well as some postcards from the souvenir shop. If you are in Osaka, you MUST check out this special museum. You will be glad you did.

Most amazing experience. I was blown away by the artworks of koji Kinutani, he uses bold colours mixed with different media and artforms to express. Fresco is such an unique technique and Koji has used this technique to create many of his masterpieces together with his own style and influence he had from Buddhism.
The 3D experience is quite good, definitely worth watching.

Beautiful art pieces inspired by gods of different cultures. They also had a 3D screening where the art pieces ‘come alive’, and a 5min VR experience wherein the artist explained more about his art process (?? I presume LOL cause it was completely in Japanese. Was still cool though.)

Really enjoyable visit to this gallery. We got the combined ticket with the observatory. Loved the 3D art video, paintings and sculpture.

This is much better view of Osaka than the opposite building with a lot of tourists. Photo and video are prohibited but it is enjoyable and memorable. Very nice cafeteria area also. Lovely place to go around late afternoon.

Lovely museum with beautiful artwork! The 3D movie was so cool we watched it twice. 😁 They offer interesting souvenirs reproducing the art pieces as well. So glad we used our Osaka Amazing passes for this.

Beautiful 3D visual show of Kinutani's artwork. Hadn't heard of the artist before, but the information provides is interesting and clear. Great discovery of Japanese contemporary art.

An excellent art museum / exhibition. Truly some unique and good modern art. I also enjoyed the different mediums used throughout. We started with a 3d video, then saw the amazing paintings, fantastic sculptures, and had a vr experience. Plus some great views on the west of Osaka.
Vr experience audio was in Japanese only.

Definitely to go for who loves art and new experience with 3d vedio.

It’s free with the Osaka Amazing Pass. Taking pictures is prohibited but I enjoyed the art displays. You get to watch two shorts with 3D glasses first before walking into the exhibition.

It's a nice place to relax in the evening and take in the unique artwork after going to the Umeda sky building. Be sure to buy some of the souvenirs as they're quite special and excellent conversation pieces. Do remember to follow the signs showing the direction to walk.
