Kawazu Cherry Blossom Trees - Nanohana Road

Went for around 9am so it wasn’t too busy yet. Beautiful Sakura! Lots bloomed some not quite ready.
Didn’t expect there to be so many or such a big area to walk around to see them, could walk for hours!
Overall absolutely worth the trip to see these early blooms 🌸

Visited the area for the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival February 2023. I recommend going the third week of the festival which will ensure that 80% of the trees are blooming. Also, early morning viewing is best to beat the crowds, it usually starts getting busy around 10:30-11:00am. We stayed overnight as well which made it easier to rise very early the next morning and walk along the riverside. The walkway is a good stretch along the river and it’s totally lined with Kawazu cherry trees and street food vendors. Highly recommend the pink taiyaki 😋 They also have actual trees for sale - we took one home with us 🥰

Kawazu sakura season is so festive.

It takes 2.5 hours of direct train from Tokyo. But seats are limited, it's better to reserve seat in weeks before. Driving to site is also suggested. Park lot is available, also parking lot is limited.

Just across the street of the train station, the journey of sakura festival begins. Under the tree line, stalls of food and local produces can be found.

The location is not spacious, there are not many places for sitting around. The place is crowded, but everything is in order - not a moment of chaos. Totally safe.

Cherry blossom was great! Many seating area along the river, highly recommend bringing food (or buy from maxvalu nearby) and picnic. Also quite a few foodstands along the river too.

Little bit over full bloom, but still beautiful.

It was half-bloom at the time I went but already had quite a few people walking by to see cherry trees along the river bank, and many booths set up for all kinds of Japanese food. It was a great experience after all.

Long Sakura trail which is good to take photos. Love this place.

Super gorgeous. Went here late February after a warm winter, on a sunny and breezy day. Theres lots of food stalls selling local produce, street food and souvenirs along the road so you will not be hungry. Plenty f places to sit and enjoy food and lots of bathrooms. There are hundreds of Sakura trees so you will have no trouble getting a good view and lovely photos. Can get quite corwded on a weekend so I would not recommend driving as you can see a lot even from close to the station.

Very beautiful place. lightup could be better. better to visit from early morning. great for night photography, but a tripod is a must.

静岡に住んでるけど浜松市なのと人気で凄い混むのでなかなか行けず、初めての河津桜祭り🌸にやって来ました🚙

金曜日仕事終わりに🚙車を走らせ、道の駅 天城越えさんで車中泊をさせていただき、2月10日土曜日の朝7時30分頃到着😃渋滞は無しで来られました。

河津桜祭り周辺のお店やお土産屋さんは8時30分～9時位オープンが多いらしが、周辺には川津来宮神社の杉鉾別命神社の大クスや河津桜 原木等早い時間でも見てまわれる見所もあり、足湯🦶😌♨(２ヶ所時間指定もあり)もあるので少し早く到着する事をオススメします🚙

2月10日には河津桜🌸🌸🌸は三分咲き～満開と木🌳や場所によって違いましたが凄く楽しめました😊

河津桜祭りに始めて行きました。
ほぼ、満開の河津桜を満喫しました。
横浜から約2時間半の道のりでしたが、平日の早朝に出発して8時半頃に桜祭りの中心位置の駐車場に到着して、桜並木の土手沿を散策しましたか、まだ人手が少なく、ゆったりと写真を撮れました。土手沿の露店はまだ準備中です。その内に大型バスの到着が続き人手も多くなり、カーネーション見本園に寄った後にバスターミナル見たいなところのショップで地元の柑橘類、野菜、カーネーションの切花を購入しました。安価で質の良い物ばがりで大満足でした。

2024/2/22 今年的河津櫻很早就滿開了！又連下了幾天的雨，當天現場幾乎都冒綠芽，花瓣也都掉落滿地，可惜沒抓到盛開時間

這裏有多片盛開的油菜花圃，藍天紅櫻黃菜花交織出多處絕景，美得令人窒息。
沿路有多個可以坐下來用餐的地方，在花叢中一邊賞花一邊享用美食，確是人生一大美事。

お天気にも恵まれ、河津桜に癒されました。
平日でしたので、さほど混んでいなくて８時に豊泉橋の隣の駐車場に停めることができ、河口まで歩き上流の方までぐるりと一回りしました。
