The food was great: for less than 3000 yen you get a menu with starter, fresh salad, Waygu meat with rice, sorbet, cake, tee and grape juice. The couple who owns this restaurant is really nice. Good music and Meissen dishes!
Would 100% recommend.

The kindest owner ever. Even though they were closed already for the day and didn’t have any other items than the beef hamburger on the menu, she still tried to contact nearby restaurants to see if she could find a reservation for me.

When that failed, she made me something without meat in it as I couldn’t eat any of the Hamburger set available.

Truly a considerate and warm owner who is just so nice.

The couple who own this restaurant go above and beyond to give you the best hospitality possible. We were late to our dinner reservation and they even tried to pick us up from the station, which we politely declined. The food was excellent from the salad, soup, hamburger steak, wine, desert, and coffee. The couple even gave us free food we didn’t order such as pickles, fruit, chocolates, and tea. Afterwards when we left the restaurant (without asking) a car was waiting for us and they offered to drive us back to our hotel which was difficult to decline. You’d be hard pressed to find a restaurant with better service in Kinugawa Onsen let alone Tokyo. I’ve extensively traveled around the globe, eaten at 3-star michelin star restaurants such as Sukiyabashi Jiro, French Laundry, etc that didn’t have as good of service as this; Jiro-san and Thomas Keller may make amazing food but I’m pretty sure they won’t drive you home. If you ever find yourself near Kinugawa Onsen, definitely take the effort to make a visit!

The true spirit of “omote-nashi” over delivering from the heart. The woman re-opened the restaurant for us, and provided so many extras, it was incredible cost-performance. Delicious food, elegant atmosphere, and very sweet service. She even brought us out two cans of tea for our drive back to Tokyo. We were treated like family.

Amazing place! When I visited there were three lunch options. Food and coffee were delicious. The owner was about the nicest person I've ever encountered. Gave us some extra dishes, teas to take with us. Came outside after we left to make sure we had umbrellas and knew where we were going!

Me and my husband Googled and found this place and rating was high and it says open at 630pm. We walked from Kinugawa station. When we arrived at the restaurant they were inside but the old couple apologized and said they are closed. We were actually quite disappointed and was wondering why it wasn't reflected as closed when we googled it. The wife was very apologetic and ( elderly lady) offered to send us to a nearby restaurant but it was a little far from our hotel and is getting dark and we declined. The lady owner was super nice that she drove us back to our hotel instead and we ended up buying food from 711 for dinner. This owner lady is a real angel. I am so touched that I wish I could stayed longer and visit her again. Recommend that you call and check if they are open before you go visit.

Amazing food and service. Amazing ambience! Ran by a kind and amazing couple. They even dropped us back at our hotel since we had walked till there!!

You can see a long line of people queuing in the middle of nowhere. That’s the place.

A lovely little restaurant in Nikko, ran by a lovely lady. The food is tasty and interesting if you've never had Japanese 'western' food.

This is the kind and generous Japanese lady owner who help me to find my lunch, I am saddened that her shop is not open today, but she was kind enough to come out in thin sweater and help me out where to find food, at one point I think she offer to drive me over, I am not sure because I am not a Japanese, my best wish for you, dear lady, hopefully I can return to visit and patronised you shop some day, caused those food photo from previous review looks amazing

I have travelled to Japan many times and to various regions in the last 30 or more years but not once have I recommended any restaurant until I visited this one.

The owner couple who run this family restaurant would treat their guests with perfect hospitality that would exceed all expectation. You don't feel like you are being treated as a customer but rather as a family visitor whom they welcome by heart.

Their menu in western style does not come with too many options but certain comes with their pride. Hamburgers, pasta, curry or pizza dinner sets are complete with homemade delicatessen soups, salads, desserts and drinks. They serve their coffee and beer in the most professional way too.

If services, food and drinks alone are not what you would stop at a good restaurant, then this one would surprise you with their table setting with fine Meissen porcelain and some other interesting items. Many if not all of them are of collection quality. The owner couple seem to have combined their hobby in fine porcelain with their business and they are so generous to share it with their guests.

I am so lucky to have run into this restaurant and feel almost obliged to express my humble opinion here. Hope you would like it as much as I do.

Cosy restaurant run by a very nice and friendly couple who come up with lots of free additions to your order. For patrons who like fine porcelain, they would be generously rewarded with fine or even antique tableware that comes with the food and drinks. Truly a hidden gem.

Wonderful dinner and owners. You can have a course dinner with a reasonable price. I definately come here again when I come to Kinugawa next time.
