November last year we  drove around Hokkaido  for 2 weeks. We reserved a room with DAICHI HOTEL, TAKACHIGAWA  for one night , frankly  with a low expectation. However,  we got caught, everything was a surprise:  the reception, the room, the onsens, and the meals were all very good. It was the lowest rate we paid during our trip,  but received the best value for money  ever.  We recommend this hotel highly, and definitely shall stay there again if we ever return to  the area.

Second visit of the same hotel, this time with a basic room but 3 consecutive stays. Didn't get bored at all! The Moor Onsen is pretty unique which isn't found even in Noboribetsu (which is considered the Onsen Deparment Store of Japan). For a well-established Onsen hotel its rooms are surprisingly modern, with good Internet connection and Netflix TV. It does accommodate some tour groups but does not feel overly touristy.

On off-peak days this place is even great for an extended workation - which isn't usually feasible in Onsen resorts due to poor Internet, expensive meals etc. Best access is by car (and there is a very nice roadside station nearby) but there are also buses to Obihiro about one service every hour - not too bad for the countryside.

A good hotel with lots of amenities—there’s a shop, restaurant, and good breakfast buffet spread.

The kaiseki was nice, with lots of local ingredients.

The premium lounge has different snacks throughout the day too.

The service is quite good—as we were leaving, we left a bag in our room, and the staff waited outside the room door to watch over it.he preo

I went only for day bathing at the onsen. The onsen is gorgeous. ¥1,500 yen includes towel rental and many nice soaps and such in the shower. The view of the outdoor bath id amazing. I already want to go back!

Superb accommodation! Love the hot spring here. It is definitely a good choice to choose a room with private hot spring facility so that you can enjoy fantastic view when you are relaxing in the onsen. The staffs are friendly and surprise that the staff said 早晨 (morning in Cantonese) when the staff knew I came from Hong Kong😮

While the dinner buffet is fair compare with other hotel. Breakfast buffet is okay. Can consider to eat outside if staying here next time.

Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel is amazing – but the real gem is the onsen and the relaxation spa (Raffine best). Even if you are not staying at the hotel, visiting the spa is a must! Their massages and facials are next level – and the staff are so beautiful and go over and above to make you feel comfortable and welcome. I cannot recommend them highly enough and cant wait to visit again in the future!

This is the pinicale of what you expect a ryokan to be. The staff are absolutely wonderful and go out of their way to be helpful. My fiance was curious where she could by the grape juice they were serving and the tracks down a brochure for Ikeda Wine Castle for here. In addition the staff left me a very friendly note and were attetive to any request we had. This is my second stay here and I will for sure be back in the future. Another plus is the beautiful nature that surounds the hotel!

Came for the day onsen. ¥1,500 gets you 2 floors of onsen. There’s a huge outdoor onsen that looks out onto a large waterfall feature, 3 indoor onsens at different temperatures, a jacuzzi tub, a cold bath that isn’t too cold, another outdoor bath looking out onto the river from the second floor, a forest mist sauna, dry sauna, and a changing room with all the amenities you need. Extremely clean, towels provided. Free iced water, iced earl grey tea, and iced red bean tea in the waiting area.

Nice "Moor Onsen" which have different characteristic than normal onsen (Sulfur) that all of us usually know, the room I stayed also very nice with private onsen (moor) that its color is very close to coffee color:)

Oh and the buffet line-up also very nice! Dont forget to try the cold stone type ice cream here!

This hotel is really nice, with two outdoor onsen, and an amazing “viking” breakfast! They also have espresso machines in the bedrooms.
