Like the other reviews, the great points of this hotel is its location, Onsen, and the view. We gotten a twin room on level 1, and the room has an amazing wide window facing the lake. It was peaceful to look into the lake. We even paid an extra 3300 yen to extend our stay till 12pm!

The onsen is a must go! There is an outdoor and indoor section. I really enjoyed the outdoor view and you can cool down really quickly.

One downside is that we didn’t know the restaurant needs to be reserved in advanced. We didn’t get the opportunity to enjoy the food.

The very first reason why we chose this hotel just because of its location near JR station, express bus stop, and local bus stops. However, the staying experience is out of our expectations. Besides the super convenient location for travels by trains or buses, you will have had your money's worth out of the view from the room and the appetizing and delicious dinner, Japanese Kaiseki.

We chose Amanohasidate Hotel for its proximity to the Amanohasidate train station and key bus stops. It was also very walkable to Viewland, Chionji temple and the restaurants in the vicinity (even in the snowstorm that came when we were there). This proved to be extremely convenient not only for touring Amanohasidate but also the other towns nearby.

The hotel itself is very well maintained despite its age. The lobby is welcoming, a well stocked souvenir shop, and an amazing onsen! The bridge right outside the onsen is a delightful sight, drawing inspiration from Kaisen Bridge (廻旋橋) and establishing the quintessential quality service Japanese brings to their customers (which include recreating visuals of their environments indoors). The onsen itself is an absolute experience. Indoor and outdoor baths, plus dry salt rooms and saunas, which is the first for us. The vending machines outside the onsen offer much to replenish fluids. Try the pale ale there. Pity there isn't the typical milk vending machines there.

The rooms are amazingly well kept and clean. We had the hybrid Japanese and western room and it offers an excellent view of the bays and sea.

An amazing and luxurious spread of seasonal and typical food is served at breakfast. Because Amanohasidate is near the coast, try the seafood there. Grilled sardines, Japanese mackerels, sandfish all go well with rice or porridge.

Last but not least, Amanohasidate is a relatively small town where English is not the main language (neither is it even in big cities in Japan). Patience, understanding the Japanese code of service and Google translate goes a long way in communicating with lobby staff. They do their best and we can tell when they put up a timetable that they update periodically regarding all transportation modes and availability of tourists spots during the snowstorm. Now that's おもてなし

Spacious rooms, I had the room with the view. The location is a minute or 2 away from the train station. You could also rent a bike for 400 yen so it would be easier to go around. Near souvenir shops and restaurants. A walking distance from the view land. They have a nice japanese breakfast buffet but also offer continental breakfast. The hotel looks old but it's clean and the staff are very accommodating. The public bath also has a nice view, and it has sauna as well.

Very nice location, comfortable room, admirable service and delicious meals.

The hotel is a little bit aged but this is somehow a very matching atmosphere of the place.

The dinner was soooo nice with great potion that satisfied my family for whole 2 days... Will definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Amanohashidate.

My wife, daughter and I shared a "traditional" Japanese hotel room (i.e. sleep on the floor) and it was a great experience. The glass balcony doors accordion to the sides to offer a full open-air view of the Sea of Japan. We tried the onsen bath and it was fun– a bit outside of the comfort zone for some Americans.

Breakfast was included and the choices were overwhelming.

The village of Amanohashidate is charming and the hotel is right in the center of everything, across the street from the train station.

Me and my family stayed at the hotel when there is national holiday, so there were lot of families with kids. The deco was kind of dated but the staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast and dinner offered quite a variety but did not change day to day. I like the on sen that located on second floor also have outdoor on sen too. Overall it was good, though not quite impressive.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Onsen was very relaxing and clean, with a variety of baths. Dinner was delicious, however breakfast was just an average buffet style. Free parking was nice and allowed my family to casually spend time in the surrounding area.

Grand hotel lobby with polite front desk staff, who welcomed my family to use the outdoor running hot water foot spa (with great scenery), though we are not hotel guests. Very generous indeed…

Stayed for one night since Nov 18th 2021. Nice Onsen hotel with parking lot attached. Easy access from Amanohashidate station and the south side of the tourism spot. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. It mixed with Japanese style and American style. The onsen is great. Outside and sauna are very nice. A decent onsen hotel close to famous tourism spot with acceptable price. Great option for people who want to visit this place.

The location was quite convenient that it is near the train station and the famous Amanohashidate sight seeing places. The Japanese style rooms were cozy and clean. The service was great. From my room I could see the nice view of Amanohashidate. The hot spring was at average level though.

2 mins walk from train station. Excellent sea view rooms with onsen inside. Enjoyed the crab dinner and also outdoor onsen. Bit expensive but very worth.
