Athulya Villas

This is nice place for nature lovers for stay piece fully without lot of noises and vehicle sounds. Villas are fully isolated. Feel like we are in the jungle. In morning we can wake up under thousands of birds singing and natural noises. And the view in front of us was so addictive. I love to see mountains when every time I wake up or walk to outside from the doors. This is not a perfect place. But for the budget this is more than expected.
Regarding foods, those are average. Had lot of variants. And delicious. Portion size is more than enough. Service is excellent.
Manager is very friendly. He is very helpful and always he is willing to listen any concerns and he gave the answer for everything. Really satisfied. Thank you very much.

Very special place. Some renovation needed but the magic is here. There is zero urban noise, there are not ppl around. Far from Kandy and tourists. Get connected, enjoy the silence.

Its the place you will need to relax in a calm environment nestled in the tea bushes gentle Kandy vibes. Authentic and historic nature of the place embrace you for an extended stay at this property. Privacy is mostly secured with no disturbance. You will hear birds chirping every-time in the day. A boutique hotel with Comfortable rooms with tv cozy bed, hot water and a bath tub. Tasty food and reasonable prices. The property has a good swimming pool as well. Situated in a village far away from the town where you will find yourself distracted from the busy world ❤

There are not enough words to describe this place. Everything is 10+. Staff very helpfull and available.

The whole place seems like it's in another world. It is the best accomodation that we had in Sri Lanka.

Rooms are big, very clean (to imagine what I mean: the towels where in a cover of plastic and when we served the lunch they covered the glasses so nothing could get in). You get a house for yourself, big bed, big bathroom.. Good internet in the room, although it didn't worked from the start.

Everything is super clean and the staff was amaizing. They even prepared the table to take the breakfast outside, in the courtyard.

Let's not forget the pool and the view.

Very nice place and quality food

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Athulya Villas. The domain is absolutely stunning and located in the middle of tea plantations. You could actually see the tea lady' picking the tea during the day. The rooms are beautiful, large, good comfy bed, and great working AC. Each room has a private terrace looking at the central valley and tea plantations.
There are really a lot of fruit trees and they grow their own fruits and vegatables, which they use to make fresh breakfast and dinner. The staff is really nice, and directly helped us in case we needed something or wanted some information about the environment.

I have read some other reviews that a negative point of this location would be that it is far from Kandy. I strongly disagree. The location is indeed remote, but I would say that is also the beauty of it. Kandy is 45 minutes drive, but there are many temples and a tea factory you can visit in 20 minutes. It is totally worth the drives if you see this location. Also, it is in the middle of Kandy and Bible Rock, which we visited.

The perfect getaway! Loved their service and the Villas were simply relaxing. They gave us a village tour, gardening lesson and even showed a dancing plant! And I have to highlight, these guys went all out to get us dishes that were out of their menu. I believe it's a true mark of hospitality. I recommend this place with no hesitation.

We spent a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the rat race of life. It is an amazing place, super relaxing and tranquil. The food was excellent and the service is brilliant, one of the best I've experienced. The rooms are specious and clean, of course the uninvited insect but what do you expect in being surrounded by nature. The toilets were pretty clean and well supplied. The staff was very pleasant and accommodated all our requests. Also like that the [lace is not big cause it leave the entire place for you or least feels like. Only suggestion is to make the portion size a bit smaller so that we don't contribute to food waste or put on a few extra pounds. The drive was ok, but the alternate route via Gelioya is under construction which should avoid the usual bumpy route via Pilimathalawa

We loved staying here ! It’s a bit out of the way from Kandy but worth it as it’s such an amazing spot- middle of the jungle ! You can see everything in Kandy in 1 day anyway. Rooms are nice, clean enough- but the surrounding gardens make it. Only thing is you are limited to eat only at the hotel, the food is not bad- traditional Sri Lankan options are best. Staff are amazing, friendly, attentive. Service better than some 5 star hotels I have stayed at !

Villa is so calm that you hear bird chirping and feel so relaxed here . All services are best with no complaints . Loved the stay.

Amazing place in old colonial villa. Big clean cottages, beautiful setting in garden with spices, herbs and fruits. The young energetic manager were kind to take us on a two hour walk among farms og rice paddys, tasting spices and seeing kingfisher birds, turtles and lizards. Nice pool and beautiful view over the tea valley. In the morning just birds chipping away and in the evening crickets and fireflies+the a few dogs barking. Great breakfast and attentive staff. Their evening menu might have western/Chinese food, but do ask for the sri Lankan food, as it is much better. It is 30 min. drive from stressfull Kandy, but for the very reasonable price, they charge here (compared to similar places) you can also hire a driver to transport you anywhere you want. A hidden gem IMHO.

Nice, clean rooms with good air con, a jacuzzi and lots of TV channels. The food in the restaurant was very good quality and generous sizes. The staff were very friendly. Thilan, Tharidu, Lasantha and Sandeepani were very professional and always around to help. Thilan even took us for a tour of the grounds to explain the different types of plants in the gardens.

One of the best hotel located in Kandy area. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Delicious foods available. Really calm and peaceful environment. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bit far from Kandy city, but close to heritage places Ambakke, Lankathilaka and Gadaladeniya.

Athulya. . Real flavour of Srilanka hospitality. . Cool climate. . Awsome private villa. . Infinity pool overlooking mother nature at its best. You will get served a simple breakfast but be assured you would love it with fresh fruits toast flakes and milk. The rooms are compact and decor is very unique, where they have tried to blend nature into everything. Super functioning jacuzzi (really). The staff are very nice and always available on call. Little away from Kandy but once you are here you would never mind the distance.

Amazing place and staff! We had a wonderful family holiday the staff made everything to make us comfortable even mafe us sandwiches when we had a trip to Segyria. Also staying inside the forest was a great experience. Thank you

The best place we stayed during out 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. It's well outside of Kandy, so don't expect to be visiting the town a lot, but you really don't need to. Athulya has everything, and is a great spot for some downtime.
