The food was good. Really loved their Chutny. Was a good level of spiciness. Good atmosphere. They serve food on banana leaf. Their drinks were s little sweet to my liking. Good crowd. Good choice of either Sweet or savory.

Surely not the cleanest and prettiest place for vegetarian food. But absolutely the best place for authentic Jaffna food. The service was excellent and the food was served within minutes after placing the order. The place was pretty crowded when I got there around 7:30pm.

During my visit to Jaffna, we had lunch at Malayan Cafe, located in the heart of Jaffna town. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff was exceptionally polite and proactive. The establishment is highly organized, serving food on banana leaves. After finishing your meal, you're expected to discard the leaves and wash your hands—an environmentally conscious practice. I highly recommend this place.

Awesome foods, very clean place. You will be served in a banana leaf, no plates. We had masala dose, and it was superb. You must try their milk tea 😍 that was awesome.👌 Much crowded some times. Parking space is less.very popular among people.

So tasty traditional food is served and Im loving it. 'Dosa', wade' and 'fresh cow milk' are the major concerns and they do their best by serving food on 'fresh banana leaves' making the atmosphere smelling like heaven. Freshly milked boiled-cow-milk was an amazing experience there and still make my mouth water by just recalling the taste.
The major staff are Tamils but they manage Sinhalese so nicely and perfectly. No worries about communication at the restaurant.

It's a vegetarian restaurant located in the centre of town. It is usually crowded but you should be able to find a table without waiting for a long time. The big menu board on the wall is all in Tamil. The staff mainly speaks Tamil, but you should be able to place an order without an issue as the staff are friendly. Meals are served on banana leaves. For a restaurant of this type, the hygiene levels are good. If you like vegetarian food and wanted to try out some in Jaffna, this would be the best place to visit. The ghee dosa and the uludu vadai that we had was excellent. We really enjoyed the food here.

Visited Malayalan Cafe in Jaffna to have lunch.
It was a fantastic experience because all the food items there were vegetarian.
Service is so friendly and fast.
Tamil is the language which is mostly spoken there, so it is a little bit difficult to communicate with them.
The food was so delicious and we enjoyed the meal a lot.

Pure vegetarian hotel. Served food in banana leaf. After eating you have to put them to a place near the hand washing place. You can eat uludu wade, dosai, paratha, koththu, string hoppers at night. Crowded place. They should improve their cleaning.

My first choice for Indian food when I visit Jaffna. Very tasty. Given on a banana leaf, which increases my appetite. Not expensive. The food is totally vegetarian and it's totally fine. I can easily recommend this place for food.

This was a pure vegetarian cafe. They lots of vegan varieties. The iconic symbol is banana leaf for any meal they served instead of typical plates. But place was located in a Jaffna town behind the market which was very busy area and parking space was almost full in a peak time.

The reason I walked into this place is because I liked the Cafe's handpainted sign. The interior is basic but very charming. The food is delicious and super affordable. After choosing what you want from the little displays of fresh goods, the friendly staff bring them to you on a banana leaf. Then a lady comes around and offer you generous portions of yummy curry and sambol. The whole meal cost me about Rs. 250, which is about $1.35 USD. You DO have to eat with your hands but they have adequate washing stations. I love this cafe and will be going back next time I am in Jaffna.
