Meerigama to Kurunegala is the easiest and takes less than 40 minutes. It's conveniently located just a few kilometers from Mirigama town (2km) and 8km from Giriulla.

🚗 If you're entering the highway from Kurunegala, u have to exit from the Mirigama exit, as the highway is not yet completed to Colombo.

This is the current entrance to the central express way. Also the exit from it if you are coming from Kurunegala.

Traffic at the toll gate could vary vastly depending on the day. Especially during holiday times it could get crowded easily.

The toll gate staff is very friendly and welcoming. Also, they are pretty efficient.

There is a public washroom too but it's located on the other side of the road. You are allowed to cross the road and use the facility. The condition of the washroom could vary day to day depending on the usage.

Highway entrance was not crowded. My entry point was at Kurunegala and from there onwards I travelled to Meerigama exit point, about 1 and half hour drive for me since I was driving at a steady speed of 90 kilometers per hour. However at the exit interchange at Meerigama, there was a huge crowd and I had to wait in the queue for approximately 10 minutes. I was charged LKR. 200 for this whole journey. Beautifully maintained and very interesting sights on the side. Especially mountains

If you enter highway from Kurunegala you must exit from mirigama exit.Because still highway not completed to colombo.Also be carefull when you are in highway don't stop to watch nature and for tea breaks.Check your speed otherwise you will be fine in the end by the police.

Starting point of CEP Mirigama - Kurunegala section. During the rush hours, a significant traffic could be expected, if you are taking exit here.
