Kandetenna Reservoir

One of the most beautiful locations in Delthota. We spent hours at this place to enjoy the beauty. If you go there, go at evening. Google map shows the exact location and we went there by following the map from Rikillagaskada town.

As informed by villagers, be careful not to jump to water as there is a risk to sink. Some edges of the reservoir are loose and do not walk near to edges. There is ample space to park vehicles.

Smaller reservoir but beautiful and has a nice small forested area beside it as well.

It is being dried in this season when I went there on 31st March 2022.Google map gives the correct directions to the place.

This is a small reservoir situated near Delthota. Google maps correctly directs you there, but the road is narrow and tiresome. 2/3 of the road from kandy is carpeted. Can get there from hanguranketha road as well as from hindagala road. Can travel by a car with a low ground clearance.

Nice scenery, good for pictures, but no much space for parking, no space to enjoy or stay with kids.
Some people tend to have a bath, which is very dangerous. The edge of the bunt is paved with granite rocks. People stand on these rocks and bath. But the rocks are slippery and unsteady. The water is very deep and lake bed is full of mud. So not a good place to have a bath with kids.
No nearby place to buy food or tea. Better be prepared.
