Nahampoana Reserve

Great little park. Nice to visit with the family. We saw 3 different types of lemurs on our short visit (out of the 6 that live there). The park actually has a nice clean lodge right on site, that would be great to stay for a night, but I didn’t see it on any websites or Google maps.

An essential place in Fort-Dauphin, where the staff are kind and welcoming. They take their time to explain the fauna and flora. There is a wide variety of lemurs available.

A wonderful experience, not to be missed! A guide is compulsory, otherwise you will get lost! You will find a few of them waiting near the park entrance. The reserve comprises of a very nice, large botanical garden with lots of trees, swamps, tame lemurs For the end you take a boat ride through a fantastic creek, where you travel under a thick canopy. Unless you come with your own car, remember to arrange the return trip. Either have the tuktuk wait for you, or get the phone number of the driver who brought you here and ask him to come from Fort Dauphin to pick you up, as there is hardly any traffic and you risk getting stuck. Of course you may walk back (dusty road). There are some small shops along the road where you can buy bottled water and fruit.

Very kind people who are doing their best with what they have. Easily saw a variety of lemurs. If you have nothing against baiting and feeding and want pictures of lemurs eating from your hands this is your place.

Beautiful park, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and inexpensive. People are very friendly and give you the best experience possible. Just as a note for us foreneigners keep some local currency on hand as the locals have a difficult time to get money exchanged.

Magnifique petite réserve, avec des arbres tri centenaires, une flore superbe et 4 espèces de lémuriens observables ! Les petits bungalows sont nickel et surtout, l’équipe (guides, cuisiniers…) est exceptionnelle !

Merveilleuse randonnée guidée par Mr Gauthier. Nous avons traversé des forêts de diverses essences dont une de bambous géant donnant un véritable concert, des Rizières et plantations de manioc. Au pied d'une cascade, j'ai pu me baigner avant de passer un col pour une vue panoramique sur la baie. Accueillie par les lemuriens du parc, une table dressée m'attendait sur la terrasse du restaurant, ancienne demeure coloniale. Sortie parfaite au départ du Talinjoo. Je recommande vivement !!

Guide très cultivé

parco molto ben tenuto, si vedono bene diversi tipi di lemuri (peccato abbiano un coccodrillo tenuto in un recinto). Abbiamo avuto come guida l'esperto signor Dophin, che ci ha fatto fare una bella visita mostrandoci molte piante medicinali.

Merveilleux endroit, dans la nature et accompagné par les lémuriens. Les bungalows sont biens équipés, avec de l’électricité toute la journée. L’équipe sur place est merveilleuse et au petit soin, n’hésitez pas à demander à faire plusieurs visites du parc et à rester au moins une nuit !

A 30 minutes de Fort Dauphin, superbe lieu. A ne pas manquer. Notre guide Gauthier est formidable.

Die Anfahrt ist etwas holprig aber es lohnt sich.
Schön gepflegter Naturpark mit Katas.
Man muß halt wissen, dass es eine angelegte Anlage ist.
Die Lemuren leben frei.
In freier Wildbahn würden wir Touristen diese wahrscheinlich nicht zu Gesicht bekommen.
