Sakalava Lodge

Amazing place for kite surfing or learning wing foiling. For beginners or advanced sailers, there is all you need. The lodge has nice big clean bungalows, great staff and great fresh food. The airport is just 30 minutes away and that's where the adventure starts. Greg the owner is a really great guy and always there to give good advise. The Kite Center is perfect and IKO certified. Really good to place be. I will be back !!

A great place for a kitesurfing vacation, with everything included. I tried wing-foiling for the first time, which was cool. Greg, the owner is very helpful. I would come again.

Spent a week there in June in this windy paradise. We really enjoyed the beach bungalow at this beautiful location. The flatwater can be a bit shallow and choppy, but the waves are really awesome. We particularly enjoyed the good cuisine great in taste and variety. The team is nice as well, will come back one day! :D

i just spent over a month at sakalava lodge and really liked the place.
the staff is really friendly (can't understand any complaints of others at all..), kitesurfing is awesome at the bay, also liked the kite rental (airush 2017).
food was delicious, maybe a bit overpriced.
the seaside bungalows are nice, the cheaper ones towards the countryside could get some renovation, but still felt comfortable there. bugs can be a problem indeed, but there is always something you can do against it. and of course all bed are covered with moscito-nets.
can't say whether other places at the bay would have been better. i liked the atmosphere a lot & met plenty of fun people to hang out with - speaking some french is a big plus though..
so if you're interested in meeting new people & wanna kite (flatwater or waves) on a beautiful spot with very high wind guarantee, i can definitely recommend this place.

We (a family of four) stayed a week three in early April 2018. We enjoyed the hospitality of Greg and his diligent staff. The place is clean and very relaxed. The nearby mangrove provides shelter from the wind, so it is very plesant even if the wind is strong out in the bay. The wind was quite light as it was just the beginning of the season (15-20 knots). My son, who was 12 at that time, and I had kite lessons in the morning. The instructors were very friendly and helpful. In the afternoon I was windsurfing although the wind was not strong enough to have planning every day. In the meantime the ladies of our family coud enjoy the sun without sand being blown into their eyes. Unfortunately we learned very late what we could use against the sandflies. Another inportant fact is that malaria profilaxis is not needed there. There are people there, who have been living there for more than 19 years and never had it. The lodeges have bednets.

Had an amazing time with the family, perfect hideaway for the whole family and lots to do and see.
The kiting is out of this world and great all round spot, from novice to experienced riders.

My family and I recently travelled from Australia to Madagascar and spent three fantastic weeks at Sakalava Lodge kitesurfing. We had a beginner and two experienced (kiting over 5 years) in our group. Our beginner was really happy that her confidence and ability to kite surf really improved during our holiday. Her instructor was really patient, gave good instructions and the fact he spoke English was a real bonus. We had access to all the equipment we needed at all times. The other instructors are also well trained and nothing was ever too much trouble regarding lessons or organising equipment. Our son was super happy because he started learning to kitesurf the waves. The two excursions Greg organised to the Emerald Sea were just brilliant.

The bungalows and dining building are really well located right on the beachfront, protected by trees and positioned so you don't get blasted by the wind when you're not kiting. The bungalows are rustic, spacious, clean and beds are comfortable with nets to protect you from mosquitoes.

The food was an absolute highlight, lots of local fresh tropical fruit, vegetables and salads, freshly caught fish, chicken and beef. During our three weeks, we think we only ate three dishes twice, it was just amazing.

We cannot speak highly enough of Greg and his staff who are all friendly, patient and really want to make your stay enjoyable. Our son had to return to Australia earlier than planned and we had an issue to sort out regarding our local flight. Greg was really helpful, provided advice and organised the transport we needed etc to sort out our issues.

We highly recommend staying at Sakalava Lodge, we certainly plan to return, hopefully in 2024.

Top location. Really nice comfortable bungalow. The food is great and varied. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. And the hotel is the only place in the bay that is sheltered from the (very strong) wind. Will be back.

Great place. Nice location and superb beach. Tricky underfoot on the shore and in the sea until you swim so take beach shoes. Our visit included entertainment in the evening.

Nous avons vécu une expérience extraordinaire lors de notre séjour dans ce splendide Lodge situé en bord de la magnifique baie de Sakalava, dédié aux passionnés de kitesurf et de wingfoil, avec une formule tout compris. L'équipe, d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle, s'est montrée aux petits soins, que ce soit pour organiser des activités palpitantes ou pour assurer un service impeccable.

La qualité de la restauration est tout simplement remarquable, avec des mets délicieux et variés qui ont enchanté nos papilles à chaque repas. De plus, l'ambiance conviviale qui règne au sein du Lodge a contribué à rendre notre séjour encore plus mémorable, créant un sentiment de bien-être et de partage parmi les clients.

Enfin, la beauté naturelle du site est à couper le souffle, offrant des vues imprenables sur la baie et des paysages à couper le souffle, ce qui a ajouté une dimension supplémentaire à notre expérience. Nous recommandons vivement ce Lodge à tous ceux qui recherchent une escapade inoubliable dans un cadre idyllique.

la gestion de ce lodge par Greg est top ! du début lors de la réservation au départ ! le responsable est très réactif , tous les renseignements nécessaires sont fournis avant le départ . aucune surprise , si ce n'est des bonnes ! la formule kite tout compris est bien appropriée , surtout lorsqu'on veut éviter de s'encombrer de son matériel . au lodge , le matériel est neuf ou presque , et complet ! l'encadrement top niveau et sympathique .la nourriture est excellente , l'eau est potable et pour se rincer , c'est de l'eau douce !!! un luxe ici ! en plus , pas besoin de prendre des anti-paludéens , car la région est épargnée . de multiples activités sont proposés , bref , que du bonheur !!!

Experience impeccable et tarif imbattable. Vous avez avec votre nuit au Lodge, les repas, toutes les consommations et bien entendu le kitesurf à volonté. Le spot est idéal pour débuter (c'était ma première fois) et le personnel est vraiment dévoué.

Un mix parfait d’authenticité et de confort , un restaurant aux mets délicieux, vous ne serez pas déçus en séjournant chez Greg, aux bons soins de Tinay sa manager qui vous reçoit avec une grande efficacité et beaucoup de douceur . L’ école de kite est sur la plage devant l’hôtel, les profs sont tous très pros et savent s’adapter à votre niveau et vos envies. Nous n’aurions pu rêver mieux pour notre premier séjour à Madagascar.

Un séjour incroyable, le sakalava lodge est mon meilleur souvenir de mon voyage à Madagascar. Le lieu est idyllique, les repas délicieux et le personnel est chaleureux et attentionné. La formule all inclusive permets de profiter pleinement du spot de kite et des conseils des instructeurs !
Une attention particulière à Tinai qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus fabuleux. A bientôt, nous reviendrons !!

Un séjour de kitesurf exceptionnel à Sakalava Lodge à Madagascar!

Mon récent séjour au Sakalava Lodge à Madagascar pour pratiquer le kitesurf a été tout simplement incroyable ! Je ne peux que donner à cet endroit cinq étoiles bien méritées pour l'expérience inoubliable que j'ai vécue.

Dès mon arrivée, j'ai été chaleureusement accueilli par l'équipe du lodge, qui s'est montrée extrêmement professionnelle, amicale et attentionnée tout au long de mon séjour. Le personnel était toujours disponible pour répondre à mes questions et m'aider à organiser mes activités de kitesurf.

Le Sakalava Lodge est situé dans un cadre naturel à couper le souffle. La baie et la plage de sable fin ainsi que les eaux cristallines de Madagascar créent un décor idyllique pour les amateurs de kitesurf comme moi. Le lodge est à 50 mètres du spot ;). Les conditions météorologiques étaient parfaites pour la pratique de ce sport nautique, offrant des vents réguliers adaptées à tous les niveaux. En une semaine, en partant de zéro, on arrive à appréhender la voile, tirer des bords et remonter au vent.

L'équipement de kitesurf fourni par le lodge était de haute qualité, ce qui m'a permis de profiter pleinement de mes sessions sans aucun souci logistique. Les moniteurs de kitesurf étaient des professionnels expérimentés qui m'ont donné de précieux conseils pour améliorer mes compétences tout en veillant à ma sécurité. Les photos de saut, c'est eux ;)

En dehors du kitesurf, j'ai également pu profiter des autres installations du lodge. Les bungalows étaient confortables et bien entretenus, offrant une vue panoramique imprenable sur l'océan. Les repas servis au restaurant étaient délicieux, avec un large éventail de plats à déguster.

Je ne peux pas oublier de mentionner les magnifiques levers de soleil que j'ai pu admirer chaque matin depuis le lodge. C'était vraiment un moment magique et apaisant.

En résumé, mon séjour au Sakalava Lodge a dépassé toutes mes attentes. Si vous êtes passionné de kitesurf ou à la recherche d'un lieu de villégiature paradisiaque, je ne peux que vous recommander cet endroit exceptionnel à Madagascar. Je reviendrai certainement au Sakalava Lodge pour vivre à nouveau ces moments uniques !
