I've rented multiple cars in Mexico and this was my first time trying Gecko! It was by far the best experience yet. The most important thing for me was that there were no hidden fees, all the fees were explained prior to renting at their offices. Great and fast service from David! 15+ years of renting cars from Gecko. Never a problem with vehicle quality. Service is superb. As others have said: no hassle, no insurance scams. What could be better? Transport to and from the airport, or even pick the car up yourself, right from the airport parking lot as we have done many times, especially when your flight arrives late in the evening.
You can't go wrong with Gecko.

The price is very fair and included all insurance required by local laws. The price quoted was the full price I paid. I had a 4 door Jetta. Well maintained & clean. Approx $50 per day. E-mail reservation & English communication was excellent. Denis met me at an office in the Plaza Marina location (by appointment only) for both car pickup and drop off. It really doesn't get any better! Smooth transaction!

Very nice to deal with. English spoken. Will report back in 6 months. 6 months later, picked up my car. Super clean and in perfect shape. Will use them again this spring. Great to deal with!

We definitely recommend Gecko for your car rental in this area! Straightforward, one price includes everything and is super competitive. Easy transfer to their office and back to the airport, we weren't in their office 10 minutes at the start and end of our trip. All staff friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favour and support a local business instead of a large chain!

I rented a car from Gecko Rent a Car back in June 2022 during my trip in Puerto Vallarta. They picked me up from the airport quickly. I recieved exactly what I wanted--a Volkswagon sedan with an automatic transmission. I had no issues with the car and the A/C worked great. I had no issues when returning the car. This is a fine example of great customer service. If I ever am in the Puerto Vallarta area again, I know where I am getting my rental car from.

Best car rental agency in Bahia de Banderas. Good people, good business practices and good prices. Their cars are picked for the local terrain and they maintain their vehicles themselves.

After a lot of searching, we were advised to visit Gecko to purchase a used car. The team at Gecko were very helpful and once we had decided on a vehicle, they assisted in the registration and insurance process. Their prices were very reasonable and the car we purchased was great value for money. Great Service. Highly Recommended.

They just make it easy. Coming from the states, you rent a car, first time to the area, and lots of unknowns. And it all just goes perfect.

Didn't even mess with the big brands, hidden fees, etc. Gecko plays it straight up, no trying to squeeze out every dollar possible.

Will only rent with them (unless they suddenly stop being awesome, probably unlikely!)

I don't normally go out of my way to write reviews, but I felt these guys deserve it. We were visiting from Canada and were hesitant about renting a car in Mexico as we had heard and read tons of negative reviews about car rental agencies. The Gecko guys were great to deal with and went way beyond our expectations. We felt as though we were dealing with old friends. They were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful in every way. Would not hesitate to recommend them!!

We had an excellent experience with Gecko and their team in Bucerias. Lucas and Adam were great to work with and really cool guys too. No bait and switch or any of the typical up-sell process one faces with most rental car companies. The price is all-inclusive of insurances and a very fair deal. They also pick you up from and drop you off at the airport. We will use Gecko for sure on our next trip.

Amazing experience with this company. They were so helpful on the phone and in person. Got the surf truck and took some back roads North through the hills to Chacala and back. Rates are far better than at the airport and the cars are very clean. Their English is perfect and communicated via phone and email quickly and efficiently. Even gave me a ride back to my place when I dropped the truck back off. I will absolutely be using them again.

Great rates and the owners provided unbelievable customer service! Very friendly and absolutely no BS. It felt that they truly wanted us to have a good experience.

They offer a pickup truck with a surfboard rack. An excellent option if your trip to the area is going to include surfing. The pick-up's cab had lots of spare room, even with four of us in there. It was also really good on gas mileage.

I will definitely be renting from them again.

Amazing car rental company! They picked us up from our Airbnb and dropped us off at the airport at the end of our rental. Great prices for Mexico all inclusive with no hidden fees. We will definitely rent from here again.

Hands down one of the best car rental experiences ever - and I rent cars frequently in the US. Excellent and very personal customer service. Beto made sure we knew how to get where we were going i(San Sebastian) by highlighting the map, gave us heads up about construction detours and even recommended places to eat at our destination. Car was good. No problems.

Lalo, Tomas, Cesar, Roberto and the rest of the staff at Gecko are the best! We ask for a Toyota Yaris for a week. The guys at Gecko were happy to deliver the vehicle to our hotel. Upon delivery Cesar took the time to talk with me about making turns in Mexico which are a bit harder then you think. Nice guys all of them. The car was fairly new, very clean and ran well. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely rent one of their cars again.
