This is my second time staying at this resort. All the staff are very nice and the service for any request is very fast.
The food is good, about what you'd expect at a buffet and there's always something for the kids.
We're in a fairly quiet part of the hotel but we also bring ear plugs just in case.
The grounds are always being tended to exterior and interior to keep the place nice and clean.
I was also very impressed with the lifeguards.
If you're looking for a first time experience for the whole family I highly recommend.

We love this resort! We have tried to branch out and try other resorts, paid more money and been disappointed every time! This resort has hospitality down to a tee! From the moment you walk in you are handed a drink and staff go out of their way to make your stay a great one. Beautiful (but definitely busy) beach with great swimming. Lots of options for food. You can’t go wrong with this resort.

Me and my family spent 10 days at this resort and I really can't complain about my stay!

The room was very clean and the bed was firm but fairly comfortable, the only complaint is there was no bottled water when we arrived however it was brought right away. One note is that if you ask for a crib you'll receive a playpen with a mattress that doesn't fit properly which could be dangerous for younger babies however my son was fine.

The restaurants were great, the breakfast buffet was the same everyday but the food was good. There was a long wait for the Italian and steak house restaurant but they were super delicious so it's understandable. My favorite was the Asian restaurant

The drinks were great and the bartenders were super friendly

The pools were in good condition and they seemed to clean them daily, there was some sand in the bottom but I understand when kids jump in the pool with dirty feet. The beach is beautiful however there is small sticks and could be raked clean but overall it was a nice beach.

Overall the hotel is a little dated and could use a renovation but you can walk over to vallarta and use their pool and breakfast. The staff is amazing and incredibly helpful.

I would definitely return

We loved our experience at the Riu Jalisco. The food was excellent, tons of options, and service was top knotch.
If you love your coffee, I recommend hitting up the sports bar in the morning. They have the best coffee there.
In the evenings, they have a show for the resort. We watched a circus act, karaoke, and a couple live performances. All were excellent. If you're looking to sit by the pool instead of the beach, get there early!
My only complaint was that in the evening I couldn't find any first aid (I broke my big toe nail I'm half on a door, and no, I hadn't been drinking 🤣). The concierge team was super nice and found everything I needed for me to bandage myself up. Besides that, I would still give this a 5 star rating. The hotel is beautiful and worth every penny.

My family and I (2 adults and 1 child) just returned from a trip over the holidays. We had an amazing stay and can’t recommend the Rui Jalisco enough. As noted in other comments it is an older property but is very well maintained and very clean. We had an inner room/courtyard facing on the top floor with a king bed plus kids bunk beds and were very pleased with the room. Zero issues. Staff, in our experience were very lovely and polite. Our daughter (age 6) loved the pools and the kids area and the staff do an excellent job of catering to kids-the activities on Christmas Eve/day plus New Year’s Eve for the kids were excellent! The highlight of the evening shows-which are very well done-was the kids portion which culminated in them opening the disco for a kids only dance party which was led by a staff who would lead the kids through a few choreographed dances like the YMCA for example. This is definitely a family resort. The beach area is really nice as well with lots of palm trees and plenty of chairs available. The restaurants were good and there were lots of options at the buffets. Even with a very picky child there were always options like pizza, fries, fruit, etc.
We had a really positive stay and will definitely recommend the Rui Jalisco to others who are looking for a family friendly all inclusive. We will 100% return in the future!

I would highly recommend this fantastic hotel, staff and experience to anyone thinking about a vacation in Mexico.

The rooms were great, with comfy beds and all the little necessities of a hotel stay.

The food was delicious. They have options for the most discerning palates.

The overall experience was outstanding.

We just got home from RIU Jalisco after 7 days. For our first Mexico trip, I was so pleased with our choice on staying here! Reading reviews for places is hard because it seems like some people just like to complain. So here’s an honest one!
We loved it here!
Rooms- were cleaned, fridge stocked and fresh towels daily! Bed was so comfortable, and we found shows in English on tv so win after a long day in the sun! Only downside was not a lot of rooms have an ocean view. But it’s still a beautiful view!
Food- The buffets had so many choices! And the food was yummy! We only went to 1 restaurant on the resort and highly recommend the steakhouse for sunset! We loved that there were allergens on the food tags at the buffet as we have nut and dairy allergies. But If you have a serious nut allergy be very careful. I couldn’t eat any desserts, and had a reaction to something I ate or drank.
Entertainment- amazing! We loved the pool side activities, and the nightly shows were amazing!
Beach- no seaweed issues at all! Water was amazing! My only complaint is the panhandlers non stop! You can’t even take a nap on the beach without them bugging you.
Pools- the swim up bar was amazing! And the pool seemed clean. You definitely have to get up early and save a spot tho because by 9:00 there’s towels on every chair!
Resort in general- the staff is all so amazing! Very accommodating and kind to everyone! The resort is clean, and beautiful! I heard rumours about a renovation and can’t imagine how great it will be after!
I felt very safe here, and would definitely come again!

It’s a great resort with a good layout and service. They had different foods at the buffet every night. The drinks were free flowing and overall vibe was very fun! I’ll definitely go back again.

Just returned from a wonderful vacation. This hotel will not disappoint.
A few comments.
Food was great alot of choices from Asian, Mexican, Italian, fries, burgers, salad bar and the ice cream is amazing.
Staff, is super friendly and attentive.
Rooms, pretty good size, clean, nice balcony, fridge with beer, pop and bottles of rum, vodka and tequila. The beer could have been stocked more then twice, assume if you ask it will happen.
There was me and my 2 teenage boys. We had 2 queens and a single. Comfy beds!
Pool, 2 big pools one quieter family pool and one "party pool" with swim up bar. Music around pool starts at 10am and goes until 5pm. Beach vball, water polo, vball net in the pool, loungers in the pool, beach soccer. They also had a pallela cooking class beach side and then served it for lunch. Mexican celebration beachside fresh tacos and cotton candy. Was very good. We ate mainly at the buffet, but they do have specialty restaurants which are also buffets, Mexican one we tried and it was super good. There is also a snack bar on beach, burgers, dogs and nachos.
Beach, clean lots of chairs and beautiful views. There is vendors walking around selling stuff, but they are not pushy.
Entertainment, starts at 830 and is okay. It's 45 min show. They always have a live band which are all fantastic and play until 1030, people stay, dance and 2 bars in the area or table service as well.
If u want to change Canadian or US dollars they have an exchange counter in the lobby. You need your passport to do this.
Sports bar, great coffee in the AM, lattes, ice coffee. They also plays sports on TVs, there r 3 pool tables that takes 5 coins which you can get exchanged at front lobby.
Towels, opens at 9am beside quiet pool.
Chairs at pool, reco you go and secure your loungers at pool by 7..730am. They go fast.
Overall we had an amazing vacation.
I would return!!!
Thank you to all the staff who make this place wonderful!!!

We really enjoyed our week at Riu Jalisco. The accommodations were quite nice, the beach was beautiful and the food was good! One of our favorite parts was the RiuFun staff members Romeo, Hector and Ivan (Romeo and hector pictured here). They went above and beyond and made each game and activity more fun. We’d recommend the resort to all ages and stages!

DISGUSTING. I found a cockroach in one of the restaurants by the food bar. The food is just the same food as the day before just reheated. You eat the same food everyday. For the drinks, they use incredibly cheap alcohol. The towels are old and smell. To top it all off, i tried taking money out the atm and they charged us but we didn’t receive the cash, so we had to call our bank and dispute the charge. Tried to ask for help at the front desk and we were greeted with ignorant faces. RUDE AND DIRTY!!! Please do not stay here. I will never stay here again and i will never recommend this place to anyone.

We’ve just spent a week in this hotel. Everything was fine. I especially want to mention the evening shows, we were simply fascinated and delighted by the high-quality singers, dancers, artists who were able to bring true pleasure to their audience, demonstrate their national culture and, at the same time involve the audience in participating in the festival. They tried so hard! Well done! There was also a wide variety of food in restaurants and buffets. I just wish the fried meat was cooked/fried thoroughly as it was hard to chew. Very friendly and helpful staff… Beautiful sunsets, a lot of entertainment and wonderful pools… I only wish that the towel service started at 8:00 am and not 9:00 am, however, it’s common practice at the hotels. Overall, I would say - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Love the Riu Jalisco. Second time visit. First (2018)with friends second (2024)with my 7 yr old. Both experiences were incredible. Resort is lively and fun, food was fresh and I never got sick. Drinks are crafted well. We took our son to Riu Vallarta for the pool there. Found it a bit more shallow for him. Awesome foam party at Vallarta. Neon and White party at Jalisco super fun.

**Huge shout out to Aby in the Kids Club(2024)!!!. My son enjoyed attending the kids club daily and she always greeted us with a warm friendly smile. Place was secure and kids were always entertained and having fun. We cannot wait to return next year.

We had the best time!
The food was great you have 5 different restaurants to choose from for dinner, two for lunch and two for breakfast! If we didn’t love what was being served we would hop to the next which was easy! We did find we got lucky our first few days it was super quiet, but when it picked up (I assume another plane landed), there were long lines for the restaurants - we had no problem waiting as we had all the time but if you are one that hates waiting maybe go early.

Staff was always amazing and so polite they truly make this place, so make sure to leave them some love (tips)!

The shows at 9 were always amazing but there weren’t enough chairs so I recommend going early we’d go for about 7:15 and it would start getting really busy by 8 and people (guests) were rude about sharing chairs even though they were using them as foot rests but oh well!
Our room was clean, they clean every second day (I think you can request daily but we had no issues) and restock all drinks every second day! You get water Pepsi (regular and diet) 7up, a few others a well as 4 bottles of hard liquor right in the room - super convenient!!

The pool was always fun and they have a kiddy areas, and two big pools the one with bar did get rowdy with young ones but we didn’t expect much less as we are the young ones - oops lol
There was always something to do and they have an easy to navigate app that had the entire schedule and all menus - again super convenient, wifi also reaches everywhere on resort so you can also be in touch.

We love to explore so we did have to take taxis/uber which were a little more expensive as the location of the hotel but we didn’t mind as we wanted to go out, they do have little personal venders that come in the beach during the day.

Overall the stay was wonderful we’re in our young twenty’s and found it was a mix of all ages and would definitely come back!

This was the second trip to this resort and still had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. It is starting to show some need to renovate the floors and other often used areas.

Just got back from a week at RJalisco with our family. 14 of us. 7 kids from 8 yrs old to 20, my sisters and spouses and my mom who is in a wheelchair.
Hotel: perfect location for daytrips to Bucerias or PV or ziplining and adventure, huge resorts, all walkways are paved and there are lots of bathrooms with disabled access which made it easy for us with my mom.
This is not considered an accessible hotel but it is one of the best if using mobility aids, they have accessible rooms, unfortunately they are 1st comw 1st serve and we didnt get one but we just moved a patio chair into the shower for bathing and tried to use the accessible, larger bathrooms in the resort over the one in the room. Check in was a breeze and our.lugfage was brought to us quickly.
Rooms: The rooms are a little dated but large, clean, laid out well and had everything we needed, nice balcony, good water pressure and were cleaned as frequently as we needed. Sure they arent super fancy, but outside sleeping I maybe spent 45 min per day in our room so good enough for us. Having a fridge was good, at breakfast I would take a plate of fruit or salas and chips and leave in room for afternoon snack well getting ready for the evening activites or coming back from excursions and didnt want to walk to beach for food
Food: was some of the best food I've had at an all inclusive, the italian and steakhouse sit down were whatever, all the food served in there is availabe at the buffet, but the views from the steakhouse are great but you either have to lineup at 6 or wait untl 8 to eat.
The mexican was my favorite but others in our group liked the Asian best. Wide variety, everything was fresh. Kids had lots of choices, only thing is breakfast is busy. If you want a table on the deck you need to be sitting before 8am. I also found the buffet dinner food to be the freshest, and less picked through on the mexican side. Also, the acoustics inside the buffet and mexican are loud so we opted to sit outside as much as possible. There is only frozen burgers available after 1030 so if you are a late night snacker either grab snacks at grocery store or plan and put stuff in your room fridge
Pools: the youngest in our group loved the pools but they were too crowded and loud for the rest of the group, but if pools are tour thing they are very beautiful
Staff: these people work so gard, the place is immaculate and they are constantly keeping things going. You can tell its a finely tuned machine of hospitality. Armando and ricardo were our fav bartenders. Had a couple great breakfast servers that were incredible as well.
Entertainment: the level of shows nightly was such a bonus, everyone loved meeting back up to see the shows, again best ive ever been to in terms of entertainment. From zumba on the beach to the circus and micheal jackson show. It was top notch. We were there for white party and the 8 yr old loved the dancing and balloons and late night our older kids loved the disco party vibe. I couldnt stay up past 11 so never experienced late night for ourselves.
Beach: beach was cleaned and tidy every morning, we swam a lot except the last 2 days when swimming was closed due to crocodile in the area, we watched whales and dolphins right from our beach chair and the people selling things on the beach were not annoying, once you said no gracias rhet moved on. If you have a large group you do need to get down by 10 to get chairs reserved but there is lots of seating, again one of the most covered beach areas with healthy palms made it extra special
Hot tips:
Bring an insulated cup from home to get large drinks made
The only good coffee is upstairs in the sports bar, its a true espresso machine and naturally there was a line up in
If youre canadian dont bring US $, just take out pesos once youre there.
Way easier for tipping and bartering and spending anyway. We just went to atm when we arrived.
I would 100% recommend and stay at RJ again.

5 restaurants! 5! Excellent, delicious, well cooked food.

Superior beach - both the size of the beach & shaded areas, and the excellent "temper" of the ocean for swimming.

Because Riu genuinely takes care of its employees, they're lifers who serve you with sincere attention and friendliness. We've been to Riu the last 2 years and the rooms are kept clean and are comfortable.

I couldn't do justice to describing Riu's entertainment. They have the expected poolside events like water aerobics and such, and a disco, but they also have little game events at the main restaurant just before dinner. The staff wear amazing costumes for these and they are just...well, fun. It's the evening/nighttime shows that are impossible to adequately express. They are *so* professional, *so* creative & imaginative. There's a weekly event that draws guests from the other two Riu resorts they are so amazing. You certainly get your money's worth just from the nightly shows.

You really want to compare Riu's offerings with any other resort's. They are truly all inclusive. No restrictions. All you can eat. All you can drink. No drink tickets or "American" breakfasts or pay-for shows. ALL inclusive.

We go with our grownup kids and their partners. And we will assuredly go again (as often as we can!)

So sorry we stuck at talking pictures. 😔
