Rancho Las Cascadas

I have stayed at many resorts and hotels throughout the world. The staff and property are among the best I’ve ever encountered. The kitchen staff did a fantastic job - food was delicious the portions were perfect. The attention to detail around the property was not missed - the decoration and layout was spot on. And the pool and hot tub were great to have after long days of riding. I didn’t think I’d use the yoga room but to foam roll and stretch after riding all day was a huge back saver. I am not a super experienced rider but I am comfortable on horses. I was with 2 separate groups. The first group was not experienced at all and the guides did a good job of keeping it comfortable and safe for them but also not boring for me. The second group were much more experienced so we had a lot more liberties and let the horses run through fields. There are over 30 trails available on the property and I’m sad I didn’t stay longer to ride more.

Loved every second of our stay here. The place was absolutely beautiful, the horses were incredible to ride. The food was delicious, the rooms and beds were comfortable. Not a thing to complain about except for the fact I had to leave.

Had an incredible time at the ranch! My wife had been previously and we went back together. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained, the horses are healthy, happy, and well cared for. Also extremely well trained and responsive. I was a little shakey with my riding to begin with , but by the end of the week I was comfortably galloping across beautiful open plains. Staff was attentive, helpful, and so accommodating. It was great to ride the same horse the entire time. Will be back !!!

I cannot say enough positive things about this resort. Jenny, Max and the staff have struck the perfect balance between adventure/exploration and relaxation. They work constantly to make sure you are comfortable at the resort and on the horses. The kitchen staff makes fantastic authentic Mexican food and are very accommodating to different dietary needs.

The horses are well trained and like to go fast!!! Max and the other wranglers are attentive and have great routes for every level of riding experience. A horseback riding lesson or two (or four) before you get to the ranch will help your comfort level immensely and greatly improve your experience.

The wifi is very fast and the rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and hot showers. The pool and hot tub are sublime and a welcome reprieve after a long ride. Be aware the ranch is located in the Mexican Highlands and the altitude is 7,700 ft above sea level, so if you have issues with altitude sickness be prepared. Our group had a memorable and relaxing experience that was carefully crafted and executed by the staff.

I had an amazing five days here and left with a heavy heart. Jenny and Max, the staff, and the horses are amazing and the ranch is beautiful. The best trail rides I have ever done abroad. I hope to come back soon!

This is at least our fifth or sixth time visiting the ranch over a period of 13 years. However, this time we stayed away for 5 years before visiting again. After being vaccinated, wanting to get away and ride horses, and having so many international travel restrictions (but not to Mexico), we decided to spend a week at the rancho again. We are so glad we did. The riding was as usual fantastic and my husband could gallop to his heart's content. The outstanding hospitality of everyone there, especially Jenny and Max, were beyond our expectations. Even the two new dogs, Kali and Cochita, were amazing. We loved the new yoga studio that was built on a cliff overlooking the waterfall. Although there were no yoga classes, I did my own yoga practice there and we used it to watch videos on the large screen. The food was again beyond delicious and the margaritas were made (by me) to perfection with the excellent tequila and fresh limes. Our days consisted of riding to interesting places (towns, mountains, waterfalls, etc) in the morning and early afternoon, and spending the late afternoon next to the infinity pool either reading, doing yoga, playing with the dogs or hiking down to the waterfall. The evenings were spent playing games, billiards, cards, or watching videos. The Rancho was the perfect place to get away to and really relax. We will be back again.

AMAZING!! Given all the positive reviews, I think we already had fairly high expectations, but the Rancho completely knocked it out of the park. They have horses for all levels of riding, and they are great with matching you with the perfect horse, but you’ll probably fall in love with them all...

The food was incredible, and while we didn’t have any dietary restrictions and asked for authentic Mexican cuisine, they can accommodate any preferences visitors have. The scenery there is stunning; we explored one of the waterfalls on our own with one of the ranch dogs as our guide. The pool is heated and great to swim in with a house made margarita, and the hot tub feels amazing in the evenings (just watch the mosquitoes!). And our suite...I don’t even have words, you’ll just have to see for yourself! We had such a good time that we’re already planning our next trip :)

I just got back from my second time here and I am filled with so much happiness. My first time I travelled alone and this time I took my husband with me. He didn’t have a huge amount of experience riding horses prior but by the end of our trip he was comfortable galloping! He loved the ranch as much as I do. It is truly my happy place and I just have endless gratitude for all the care and love that all the staff put into this place. Jenny and Max are amazing! I miss everything from the dogs, the wind chime in the tree and the beautiful garden. And of course the horses, each of which have their unique personality. I left a piece of my heart here and I cannot wait to come back again ❤ Gracias por todo!

Staying at the ranch was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious, and the horses are so well cared for. And the scenery!!! Wow. I’m already planning my next trip back!

The stay was just wonderful. All the staff is just amazingly friendly. The ranch is a real beauty stylish and comfortable at the same time. The horses are really well trained and very friendly. They even fulfill special wishes for the meals such as vegan..veggie...glutenfree etc. Thank you so much for everything and hopefully see you soon.

Amazing staff, beautiful landscape, and a very comfortable stay; plus, the riding was top notch. There's something for everyone here, whether you like to ride or swim or enjoy a massage or meditate. The owner and staff clearly care about the property & the horses, as well as the guest experience. If you have a longer stay, try an all day ride -- but otherwise, do two rides a day & come back at lunch and enjoy more of the home-cooked meals!

The most relaxing and out of the ordinary experiences in my life! Riding the horses in these valleys are definitely priceless. Thank you to Jenny, Max and our wrangler Joel in making our experiences memorable. We will definitely come back!

My most amazing ranch experience ever. The hospitality here is so complete and so generous that it outshines any I've experienced anywhere in the world. The horses are well cared for and the riding is superb. I can't wait to return!

Amazing ranch less than 2 hours from DF. You can go on horse rides from 45 min to several days... The rooms are great plus there is a pool and big jacuzzi! You can also hike down to the waterfalls.

We had an unbelievable stay at this beautiful hacienda. The property is beautiful and clean. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. We definitely want to return. Jenny the manager goes above and beyond in making every guest feel so welcome.

The Hacienda-Ranch is an absolutely perfect mexican Dream for people who love horses, nature, freedom and silence beside the big city of the mexican capitol.
It offers warmhearted hospitality, great landscape views, stylish mexican interieur, great food and drinks and the best guacamole in a circle of 100 miles.
