Enormous Basílica designed by Don Vasco Quiroga, part of the Second wave of Spanish Audiencia to come to Mexico in 1532. Th Basílica designed by Don Vasco Wuiroga sits on a tall hill that allows a clear view of Lake Pátzcuaro. Don Vasco always encouraged the development of P'urhepecha artisans. To this day a fine selection of those artisans from various communities around Lake Pátzcuaro are here on the Basílica grounds.

Absolutely beautiful church with very interesting art, stained windows painted ceilings. Artesian selling in stands outside make it fun time to walk around outside as well.

One more church with its peculiar countryside charm. And a magnet for believers. You can feel the atmosphere of reverence. The image of the Virgin is a real masterpiece, starting with the materials she is made with.

Off the beaten path, this landmark in the beautiful town of Patzcuaro worth the visit. Really beautiful shrine on the inside and very original architecture on the outside. It is also surrounded by a nice park with several local foot stands.

Beautiful structure! Inside there is XVI century image of the Virgin of the Health made with the ancient technique of Corn Cane Paste. Just an amazing visit!
