My wife and I spent 2 wonderful weeks at Finca and can't say enough about it. Eduardo was an exceptional host. He's created a comfortable, affordable and tasteful environment with a wide variety of accommodation to suit any need. He was very helpful in attending to any of our needs and made our stay extremely pleasant and comfortable. I can't wait to return for another visit.

Such a magical place. Immediately loved the cool artsy, bohemian vibe. Then found out it was all constructed with recycled material. Also cool.
But the best part were the people and the hospitality- it was a feeling of instant community. Eduardo felt like having a family member there- he is so easy-going and always available for you no matter what you need.
In our case we had an unforeseen situation occur where we suddenly found ourselves in need of help: rides, a different room accommodation, information/communication support etc. Eduardo made us feel that we were not alone and helped and checked in with us along the way. And the community at Finca were also there in solidarity and support. The openness and generosity Eduardo shows sets the tone for the community who stays there- and it’s incredible. If you want to feel safe and supported with cool vibes and a variety of accommodation options. This is the spot. It’s also at a great location between the park and the town. Highly recommend. All the stars.

Eduardo’s place is awesome. La Finca is very homey and pretty. The employees are so helpful and nice. It is a little tiny further from the crag than other places to stay, but you can either use the bikes to get to the crag, walk with a view, hitchhike, or get a ride with one of the employees if they happen to be going somewhere. But…. Further from the crag also means closer to the markets in Hidalgo.

An amazing location - Eduardo was extremely helpful throughout our stay, the pool was magical, the place has an absolute vibe to it that many of the other locations seem to lack, and it's really nicely situated between climbing and town (where you'll find the best food - the taco stands in town beat the expensive touristy spots near the crag hands down).

Our friend broke her ankle and Eduardo was a huge help organising transit and everything else we needed.

The area felt very safe, too, close to town but also in its own little touristy rock climbing zone.

Can’t wait to plan my next trip here! Such a Beautiful, inspiring space and I’m excited to see how it keeps growing. The location is nice and central for both walking/biking into the canyon and into town. There were also a few shared bikes available to use at Finca. Thanks Eduardo and crew!

Loved my stay here! I loved the artsy, alternative, bio contruction, and cultural feel of this place. It met my needs for connecting with locals, ability to cook, internet, sleep comfortably in my own tent at a great price, meet other climbers, use a bike to get to the crag, quiet at night, space for circus and more! I can highly recommend la finca! I also loved waking up to the sunrise every morning before going climbing :)
Lots of options here, and guaranteed friendly, clean and welcoming :)

I was only here a week, but in that short time, the Finca already earned a special place in my heart.

The construction can be a little rough around the edges and careful if you have pet allergies because there are a lot of dogs and cats wandering, but there is great attention to detail in every corner of the complex and the combination of the ubiquitous street art, beautifully crafted buildings and amazing views from the rooms (especially the penthouses), make it feel almost more like a spiritual retreat than a hostel.

In addition, Eduardo has a passion for service and his guests and was even kind enough to offer me a ride to the store!

Easily one of the most unique and charming places I’ve stayed and the perfect location to watch the sunset over Potrero Chico!

Highly recommend staying here! The owner, Eduardo, went above and beyond to help us out during our stay in EPC, as he does with many of his guests. The location is an easy walk to all of the climbing, and the property is stunning! We felt incredibly safe, and at home here. The variety of accomodations on the property will suit your any need. The kitchens and common spaces are kept clean by the extremely friendly staff who work at Finca. I found the community of folks staying there to be extremely friendly as well. All in all, i will be staying at Finca each time I return to EPC!

I cannot recommend Finca enough! When our bus broke down on the way from the U.S to Hidalgo, we called Eduardo (the owner) and he went out of his way to help find us a tow truck and a mechanic. Once we arrived at the hostel we were amazed by the views, atmosphere, friendly staff, and over all safe environment. We immediately felt at home at Finca, and felt like all of our needs were taken care of. It has great access to Potrero, and is also very close to all necessary amenities in town. We are already planning our next trip down here, and wont stay anywhere else!

The owner Eduardo is an absolute gem. He is honest, empathetic, and truly cares about his guests. I stayed here for 2.5 months, always felt safe and comfortable. I was studying remotely and always had great connection using the starlink.

I fully recommend this place :)

I booked accommodations here at the last minute and Eduardo worked to find me a suitable room each night of my stay and a last minute ride to the Monterrey airport. The climbing community was welcoming. There is an intimacy here that I didn't find in the larger hostels.

Finca el caminante offers a variety of sleeping arrangements with generous staff and a communal feel. Set about 20 minutes walking to the gates of EPC, it is located among local houses allowing you to experience and see a bit more of plueblo and people that live there.

Although I stayed in a private room with its own bathroom and shower, there are several communal facility setups both in the main building and disbursed around the complex. There are two kitchens, one front one that gets quite busy, and a charming back kitchen offering a more intimate feel. The pools is a great choice for soaking after a long day of climbing then hanging out in the sun. The complex is also filled with art and little nooks and crannies to chill out, I personally recommend a little afternoon coffee in the pillow/hammock area.

As many people pointed out here, the space is built and maintained by Eduardo and his crew. They are real great humans that were always cheerful and welcoming. Eduardo does everything he can to help out everyone and make them comfortable/safe. In my time there I can't count how many times he drove people to down, made repairs, and still found time to share juicy chisme. Not to put any pressure on him but I wanted an extra blanket, texted him, and 30 seconds later there was a knock on my door!

Finally, remember, this is a hostel in rural Mexico, not a Holiday Inn in Irvine, California—and it is so much better because of it. This place has a soul and makes for a great place to stay. My only complaint is that I didn't stay long enough.

Great spot at the foot of a beautiful mountain. Excellent service, great food and drink, and Eduardo the owner always goes the distance to make you feel at home. Highly recommended.

My family really enjoyed our stay here with Eduardo at his beautiful Finca! We camped in our bus and felt so welcome and comfortable. There is a very fun and creative vibe here, the staff are all super friendly and the resident dogs will be become family. The location is super convenient walking distance (~20 min) to both the climbing and town. We look forward to returning!

The most outstanding vibe of any hostel around. Camping. Private rooms. Public rooms. Very mellow and chill walk 15 mins to the crags, easy warm up walk to start the day. Pool is great. Wifi is great. Eduardo is great! Unbelievably friendly and gave us the absolute best solid info on the area and tons of advice. Colours and murals fill every space. People from all over the world. Pet friendly. Come here if you’re looking for the most iconic and amazing vibe, trust!

I stayed at Finca for a month and have nothing but good things to say about this place. Camping was easy and comfortable, the two kitchens made it easy to cook and store food and the community was great. I met so many people, hanging out in the A frame or going climbing. Will stay there again next time I visit EPC. Thank you Eduardo

I've been staying here for almost 2 months as a solo climber. It's been easy to find climbing partners. This place is more than a hostel. The owner and his staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. You end up feeling like a family member. It is kids friendly and pets friendly. The location is halfway way between town and the climbing site. A little 20 minutes walk, and you are there, or you can borrow one of the bicycles available. I definitely recommend staying at La Finca El Caminante for your trip to EPC.

I stayed at this hostel for 2 months camping, and i loved it. This hostel felt like home to me during that time. The staff and the owner eduardo make the place feel special. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. If you're looking for an authentic experience and not interested in a "resort" vibe this is the place for you. There is a big sense of community at this hostel and that is what kept me there for so long .
