The merchants have a excellent selection of food and beverages. Very relaxing and the music is great!

It is a must visit in Pátzcuaro. During celebration of the Day of the Dead, it was stunning.

This is the main plaza in Patzcuaro. It is very popular. Around the plaza, there are a lot of stone benches, covered by a large number of trees for shade. People just sit there to relax. In the mornings, the plaza is a jogging area.

Beautiful at night, especially when it's not raining! The folks who look after the park keep it clean & tidy, music plays gently in the background & the small shops, cafes & restaurants in Plaza Grande are always nice to visit & enjoy.

This is such a beautiful part of Patzcuaro. There are other Plazas one block in either direction allowing access to multiple markets. The Tourism Information office is here and has daytime hours but was SO helpful. Get your town map here. There was some form of live music (band, violin, saxophone, guitar) every night. There are a lot of restaurants and shops so parking can be limited but is available all around the square. Hotels around the square can have increased prices due to their prime location but look around and some of them offer a great deal. This is a perfect place to sit in the evening, enjoy some cheesecake, a mocha and live music with a view of trees and a lovely fountain.
