Casa Werma

Everything was lovely: the grounds, the room, the staff, the peace and tranquility, the short walk to the main plaza in Patzcuaro - all was perfecto. We've already booked for next year.

Casa Werma is one of the true gems of Patzcuaro. It has a garden that is beyond beautiful and takes up most of a city block. I have never stayed in the rooms there - I'm a local and I attend retreats and activities but sleep at home. I have seen the rooms and casita, however, and they are quite nice. Just outside the world of Casa Werma is the outdoor city market, and beyond that, one of the major plazas. For the beauty and tranquility you get inside Casa Werma's high walls, it's central location in town is rather surprising. Hosts Mayela and Paul are the best! Paul is a wonderful cook, too. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I didn’t stay over, though the rooms look nice, in a colonial style. I really enjoyed my retreat here, especially the gardens. This is a truly hospitable place!

I have been here numerous times for events. The grounds are lovely and peaceful, and there are classes like yoga and meditation. Most are on a voluntary donation scale of payment.

Casa Werma is an extraordinarily beautiful 5-acre retreat site, located in the heart of Pátzcuaro centro, within a 5 or 10 minute walk of the town's most significant museums, restaurants and shops. While the site regularly hosts group gatherings focused on a wide variety of subjects, it also offers its available rooms to visitors just like any B&B. If you are looking for a truly memorable experience, we urge you to consider booking your stay in this remarkable garden oasis. The resident co-directors, Mayela and Paul, are delightful folks, and they'll do everything they can to ensure your comfort during your visit.

The facility and gardens are amazing. I can wonder around and relax in the gardens for hours. They also allow private events and small meeting groups.

Casa Werma is superlative place to spend peaceful, meditative time in the midst Patzcuaro, one of Mexico's most delightful, vibrant towns. There are 2 lovely rooms for couples and a casita. The food is excellent, and attentive staff couldn't be more hospitable & knowledgable. Casa Werma extends their good fortune by engaging with the town's community.

I stayed at Casa Werma for over a week and felt so at home and cared for! The rooms are impeccably decorated with gorgeous tiles, local art and traditional furnishings. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I will be back!

There is a secret garden in the heart of Patzcuaro. Casa Werma is a Shambala Buddhist Center with weekly meditation on Tuesdays at 5:00, followed by tea and socializing. It has become an important part of my week. They also have, yoga, retreats and workshops.

A beautiful and relaxing place to do a meditation retreat! 🧘‍♀ The staff is also excellent and friendly.
