Amazing site. Nobody was there and this was unfortunate we had a clear view of Popo and Itzta. The site is not huge but the same ticket gets you into Cacaxtla. The museum has amazing pieces in it. Come visit and see Cacaxtla as well. You won't regret the extra 15 minute drive to experience Xochitecatl which is even older than Cacaxtla.

Found some old photos, so here is what I remember from my trip in 2006. The spiral pyramid was odd, I believe it is the only one of its kind in the country. The big pots, or wells, or whatever they were. Got some cool IR shots with one of my early infrared-modified cameras. Certainly a neat little worth visiting if you are in the area.

It is part of our Mexican culture, and definitely you'd love the history of it!!!

This is a beautiful place, more interesting than Cacaxtla. This archeological area represents the feminine energy, has four pyramids. One for Ehecatl, another for the volcanoes, other for the serpent of feather and the last one for the flowers.

I came to this pueblo to visit family. They told me about these ruins and we decided to go. I climbed a lot of stairs but it was so worth it for the view up top. If you're ever visiting Mexico and happen to be near Tlaxcala, definitely stop by. The pictures don't do the views justice, they must be seen in person!

Hidden pyramids, so you can be there almost alone.
Best time in the morning, with a great view to the volcanos.

I loved this place. It isn't crowded and no vendors inside the pyramids grounds. We ate great authentic Mexican food right outside the archaeological site made to order.

Good facilities on site, toilets, gift shop, small shop for drinks and ice cream.
The canteen was shut when we visited (low season) but there are vendors outside the site entrance for hot food.

Great archaeological site that is not a widely known as the likes of Teotihuacan nor Tula. But the paintings are stellar.
