El Atorón Restaurante

Discovered this little breakfast gem in Melaque this morning. I had chiliquiles suizas & pollo and it was amazing! The sauce on the chiliquiles was made with poblanos and was incredibly flavourful. The layered cheese really added to the dish. The chicken and mushrooms were on the side in a light cream sauce. My husband had the huevos rancheros. It was a very generous portion and equally as delicious as my dish. They are located across the street from Banamex. I highly recommend you check them out!

Excellent tacos. The fish taco (MXN$30) was especially delicious. I also loved the taco with chicharrón in salsa verde ($19). Adobada and asada were good too. The salsas are quite good. Good service, though I wish they’d switch to serving salsa at the table on a tray. One nice touch: paper instead of plastic on the plates. I’ll be back!

Followed up on a recommendation for restaurante El Atorón ( across from the Banamex in Melaque). Excellent tacos, all the food coming out of the kitchen looked terrific. Some interesting twists on traditional Mexican cuisine. Nice breezy interior, comfortable seats. Recommended.

Best tacos in town! The prawn and fish tacos were packed full of fish and 3 large prawns. The price was amazing! 35 pesos for a prawn filled taco. We will definitely keep coming back!

Great food very friendly owners and staff. Will make it a regular stop when in Melaque.
