Lovely place to spend a day at the beach! Great , quiet place to visit as the Snowbirds leave during this time , but there's still enough events to make it a fantastic vacation spot.

Hitting the Barra sign at sunrise is definitely worth it. Coffee in hand with the sun peaking over the hills, painting the sky as it lights up the lagoon. A peaceful stroll down the empty Malecon, waves crashing on the beach as an occasional panga cruises through the lagoon. This is a unique malecon since its located beyond the stores and stretches out like a natural pier. With a lagoon on one side and the ocean on the other it is unlike most others that you'll stroll down. Made for a pretty nice way to start the day

Barra de Navidad is so beautiful that you just wanna stay there for good.

Wonderful island in Mexico nearby Melaque, a small town of friendly and welcoming hospitality and kindness in the state of Jalisco. You've got to visit here! I actually found this place to be a great therapeutic getaway. You are surrounded by the ocean on both sides and there are beautiful hotels. The food is very good and there are ice cream shops, coffee shops with even wifi and lots of food vendors on the open. Thursdays hold a flea market or swap meet. Melaque is more flexible and reasonable for shopping and stay, however, if you want to compare and save but Barra is an awesome place to be just as much! I love the two 💕! Barra holds boat rides for a tour and even for a taxi ride to a local restaurant and back. I love the Catholic church that holds a very true, valuable and important history to it regarding the storm and the cross. What a miracle! Check it out! As a matter of fact, worth checking out and enjoying a visit to Barra!
