Barra Galeria de Arte & Restaurant

This food was fabulous! There were two different choices on the menu and we tried both and they were both good however, my favourite was the shrimp stuffed pepper. The owner came over and introduced himself and welcomed us. He was very hospitable. The atmosphere was great and so was the entertainment. We complete the evening with a complementary tequila shot and marshmallows that we toasted on a small fire in the outside by the entertainment. You need to make a reservation. We will definitely visit here again!

We just has a 20 people dinner in this cute cozy restaurant in the heart of Barra. Place gets my 5 start which I have never given before! Here are why:: place is clean, imaginative decor, warm reception and good location. Nice selection of rare and not so rare Tequilas or Mezcals. Food choices were limited but I did not mind. Warm and cordial welcome by the owner was a plus.

Wonderful experience!! Could not get enough of the view from the garden. Was there in a Monday night for the live music which was phenomenal!

Incredible meal in a beautiful location - the garden is spectacular, as is the food, as is the selection of tequila, as is the service. You'd be foolish not to stop in for a meal from the prix fixe menu, if only because you'd miss out on the best margarita in Barra.

Best family in the world! So accommodating and so passionate about the food. Spent a good few hours discussing tequila and we even took two bottles home and we even purchased glassware since we were on vacation so we could probably drink it! Hands down the best restaurant in all of my travels! Hands down the destination spot for dinner And the absolute best atmosphere and service in Barra de Navidad. We will be back...again!

What a wonderful experience!!! It’s very intimate, whether it’s a dinner for two or six. We loved the little extras that made us feel like we were the only guests in the garden. Reservations are highly recommended and easy to get. Robert, the owner, puts out the dinner menu a week in advance so it’s easy to decide which day you’d like.

Great food, great drinks, great service, great music, what else can you ask for?! We're coming back, probably many times!

We go to Barra every year and this is one of our "must go to" restaurants in the area. Service is friendly and quick. Food is excellent. The restaurant area is in a walled, open garden that is beautiful. The new tequila bar (must be over 100 varieties) is an excellent addition and the owners are more than happy to share their wealth of knowledge about this local drink.

Robert and Rosie run one of the best restaurants in Barra. Beautiful garden setting and amazing food. They only serve two entrees nightly but they are always delicious. They have 100's of tequilas, craft beers and an extensive wine list.

This is also a gallery that shows Roberts beautiful photographs as well as supporting other local artists. Reservations are absolutely needed.

This couple also supports so many local families and children in need. Good people who are doing wonderful things for the community.

Romantic, magical, social, fun. Beautiful garden courtyard and fire pit. Wonderful menu of two rotating choices with a free appetizer. Robert the host and his family staff are the best. Well worth the trip!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Barra de Navidad. Each year we go back and we get the same excellent food and service.

Robert and his wife Rosie (the chef) have created a wonderful space to enjoy dinner. It is warm, welcoming and inviting. From the minute you walk in you feel like you are at home.

The menu is limited which is what I think makes the food so delicious. Everything is prepared upon ordering and is extremely fresh.

They always have stuffed chili relleno on the menu along with one other dish. The chile relleno is stuffed with either shrimp, chicken or beef, it just depends on what is on the menu that night. It is so amazing that it is the only thing I have ever ordered!

Robert is a tequila connoisseur and has over 100 tequilas stocked in his incredible tequila bar. He has incredible knowledge and makes excellent tequila recommendations and always willing to sit down for chat about the wonderful world of tequila.

If you are in Barra, I would highly recommend you spend an evening with Robert and Rosie!

Home style Mexican food done very well. Good margaritas and a large selection of tequilas. We like to go on Tuesday when they do a flight. Wines by the glass are good as well. Service is excellent. Try the chile rellenos, one of my favorites.

Great restaurant. They keep it simple with 2 dinner choices and do them well. Awesome selection of tequila!

Menu has only two items to chose from, and this changes daily, but both are tried and true for taste. Staff is excellent and if your are lucky enough to be sitting in the back, it is like sitting in a jungle. There are no bad points about Barra Galeria de Arte.

Amazing music, we had a lovely time both times. The owner is friendly and accommodating, I'm going to miss the musician on Mondays!

The most delightful hideaway restaurant on Costa Allegre. Phenomenal Tequila bar, fabulous food, caring owners with class and wonderful live music. Don't miss it!!! Cheers, Dan
