Memorable experience with unique local cuisine 🍽.

We came last Tuesday for a company lunch. The restaurant was very beautiful and perfect for photos 📸. Their seafood, including fish, tiger prawns, and cuttlefish, was very fresh and generously sized 🐟🦐🦑. The chicken satay was very tender and delicious. Be aware that some dishes can be quite spicy 🌶.

Overall, it was a great experience and an excellent place to come with a group 👍.

I watched Chef Wan whilst growing up and was super intrigued to try his food. Man, no regrets… this place is worth your calories. Pls throw diet out of the window. Everything we ate down to the condiments and rice was amazing! I visited this restaurant with my family, for 4 of us we ordered the family set that featured Chef WAN’s signatures. Every dish was perfectly seasoned with aromatic spices and perfectly complemented their dishes with the rice options. The only thing I wished could be better was to have actual buah keluak in the Ayam buah keluak dish. Otherwise everything was perfect. We are already planning to come back to visit when we come back to KL. Oh yea, service was top notch! Thks for giving us an awesome experience!

Wonderful place to try out local delights. Price-wise, a bit on the higher side. The service here was top-notched. My friend and I were eating and chatting away until their closing time. They patiently waited for us to finish up our dessert and did not chase us out (of course we quickly savoured the dessert as quickly as we could).

This Michelin Guide restaurant is helmed by Malaysia's pride, affectionately known as Chef Wan. It has a British colonial inspired interior, spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Here, I was pampered with a culinary feast that I could never have finished. Each dish is thoughtfully presented, and by reputation alone, I was sure that there would be no disappointment.

Enjoyed every dish there and had a great time.

Excellent service. All the staffs are ready to serve you without delay.

Food standard definitely deserve Michelin and best of the best.

Environment is perfect and well renovate.

A few things to take note, hope they can increase nanga dessert portion. And also curry chicken portion. Hope they come out with picture food menu, sometimes hard visionlize how the food look like;non local waitress can't introduce food well enough.

This Michelin guide restaurant in Kuala Lumpur serves authentic Malay cuisines in a fine dine environment. The decor is bright and classical and the service is both attentive and great.

The food came out tops in terms of presentation and taste, however I am a little skeptical on the freshness of our soft shelled crab.

Otherwise, it was a great dining experience.

Very nice and authentic halal restaurant from the famous chef Wan. Food is on a spicy note for a foreigner so take your own risk.
Overall great food and service. The nasi biru ( butterfly pea rice) and nasi delima are awesome as they are very fragrant.

Highly recommend any tourist, friends, foreign expat to come over here.

Chef Wan is a Malaysian celebrity chef, since young i have been watching his cooking show on national tv, and after trying his restaurant dishes, it did not disappoint me at all.

First, get their rice, blue pea rice (with coconut milk) and pomegranate rice. It is refillable, we refilled about 3 times and they are not stingy to give you more, which is pretty satisfying.

Although the prices you see here is high, it is 100% worth paying because some portion of the dishes are really worth it.

We ordered peranakan food
1. ayam buah keluak(ask the waiter how to eat the black nut)
2. Prawn with sweet and sour sauce
3. Asam pedas fish( i like their gravey)
4. Asparagus with kerisik
5. Satay chicken ( would not recommend this unless you really cant find but they gave more meat than standard satay outside)
6. Teh tarik is RM8 but it is super good. (If you are willing to pay only pls order yourself)

Every dishes would contain his own fusing of aromatic spices, I think he deserves his michelin star ( as seen)

Staffs who has served us is very attentive I think his name is Muhfazar. Kudos keep up the good work 👍🏻I hope he deserves some promotion or tips. Hope to be able to dine here again.

It’s our first time raining in De.Wan 1958, purely impressed by the michilin guide award. However the dinner experience is amazing and food are great.

The waiter suggested us (2 ppl sharing) Chef Wan Platter and Short Ribs Adam Pedas. Both are in large portion and tasty, especially the short ribs is amazing to be paired with Nasi Pandan Delima (rice). Highly Recommended!

We have also ordered Kari Hijau Telur Asin which is soft shelled crab with salted egg n green curry. Taste is a bit salty and so-so. Can skip item.

Waiters are really helpful!! An amazing dinning experience. Worth to go if visiting Malay!

Tarikul is attentive without being intrusive, fully anticipatory of our needs & wants even before we had time to articulate them and is both professional and friendly, a tenuous combination but one in which he managed wirh finesse. I would highly recommend everything about this place, from the food (the appetizer platter with the refreshing grapefruit and pomelo salad, the pucuk paku dish as well as the savory stir-fried bindi), to the ambience and best of all the exemplary service - kudos to Chef Wan and staff! 👏🏻👃🏻

This is the place to bring our overseas friends for a taste of local Malay food. A must try is the cucur udang which is simply out of this world. Other dishes which we ordered was daging dendeng (beef), sambal terung with prawns, deep fried whole fish and masak ayam lemak. Our Korean guests totally loved everything. The decor is lovely and staff service was great.

Good place for the usual corporate luncheon and a few good places for halal-goer gathering places. Food is awesome with mixed of spices truly Malaysia food with spark taste of a little baba nyonya, in love very much with the Chicken Kapitan.

Love the way they put heart to decor the restaurant especially the batik menu!

In short, superb food. Their Asam Pedas fish is the best I’ve tasted till date. They truly deserved their Michelin restaurant rating. Will bring the family here next time round.

We came all the way here from singapore!
And really wanted to try the food and services! The staff there was so friendly and easy to communicate with. The food... we order, 15 dishes! The food serve was hot, fresh and it came out quite fasf. All of them was so delicious and the potion was huge! We might have orded too much. We didnt wanted to waste, so we pack some and brought it back to the hotel and eat it. The dishes we ordered was really tasteful. My parents love chef wan, often see him on tv. But never get to try his food. We brought our parents there. To have a taste of the food.. Our whole family trully enjoy the food! Thank you, De.wan 1958 by chef Wan! Food its really amazing! 5/5 stars!

I think this is the first time I'd wholeheartedly give a place 5 stars ⭐ on a Google review, and it’s VERY well deserved. The flavors here are punchy and unique, striking the perfect balance without becoming overwhelming or 'jelak'.

The service team is on point, too, steadfast and responsive. It’s a 💯 must-try place. You should definitely NOT skip over the Google Reviews on this local restaurant 👌👌

The coffee could be slightly better, mainly because of the milk frothing; it's a bit coarse rather than the ideal microfoam that I'd prefer, but that’s me being a bit too critical, possibly because of my background as a barista.

This is a true 10/10 experience 🤗🤗

It is my personal opinion that the culinary offerings at this establishment are of exceptional quality and authenticity, truly representing the essence of Malaysian cuisine.

This venue provides an ideal setting for both professional and personal gatherings, allowing colleagues, friends, and families to come together and enjoy the delectable dishes on offer.

Their Ayam Rendang, Cucur Udang, Sotong Sambal Petai, Ayam Keluak, and Som Som are all recommended and offer a truly authentic Malaysian dining experience.

It’s an upmarket Malay restaurant owns by a celebrity chef. Popular and was busy when we were there for lunch. Nice atmosphere and nicely decorated. Service was efficient. They have multinational employees.

Great menu and good size portions of food. Food was delicious but the squids were a little chewy. I hope the restaurant will look into this. I’m not taking any star away because this doesn’t tarnish it’s reputation in my eyes.

I’m looking forward to go back for more!
