Very delicious, the view is beautiful. I really liked. We came the afternoon and then the night. I recommend.

One of the top best seafood restaurants i went with family. All their meats are fresh and dishes are too tasty. I stayed in Cherating for 2 nights & went to this restaurant 3 times for our meals.

Food and service here is sensational. I live in Penang and this is the best food we've eaten in Malaysia. We had the thai beef salad, deep fried octopus, Hokkien noodles, chicken and cashew nuts, sweet and sour chicken. All fantastic. Going for dinner tonight again. Tye owners were so good they were feeding huge turtles in the river and took my kids to see. It was just wonderful.

The song tam, ikan 3 Rasa, green curry and their signature fried kuey teow is a must to order

1. We ordered tomyam soup and vegetable soup, they are both tasty and the aroma is strong.
2. The price is reasonable compare to other high class restaurants
3. They even provide mosquito coil and the river side view is beautiful

Delicious food at reasonable price!! Riverside dining. Get the curry fish when visiting Restoran Du Yong. It’s the variation of curry that is creamy (but not too thick) and not too spicy. Also nice IMO are the oyster omelette, nasi goreng pataya, and sizzling beef!! Will definitely return here again.

Support the local community. The location is by the back water and next to Hafiz Boating. The food is good. Good location compared to other restaurants nearby.

The place is quite nice to spend your noon and evening with plenty of food options. I enjoyed my lunch there.

Was recommended to have meals here by a friend. Loved it. (We were in Cherating from 2-5 Jan 2022). Had dinner there twice and lunch once (others went for an additional dinner, which I didn't join). Ordered a great variety of food. The ala carte selections were lovely. I'd suggest you just try everything. Owner, Andrew, who took over late in 2019, a real chatterbox with great experience in the world. Service staff were efficient. The food was very affordable with plenty of local, Thai, and western style meals. Location is by the river and it was very pleasant. Facilities were good and clean especially the toilets 😃.

Great little place on the river. Chinese and Thai style cooking. We got clay pot tofu, mixed veggies, and fried rice. The mixed juice is big and well iced. They were kind enough to make our fried rice without egg to make it more vegan. Nice ambience and staff, would recommend.

We asked someone at a cafe where to go and they recommended us to try this place. It’s on the river. They have Thai, Western, and Malaysian food. Wow. I ordered the green curry. It came out piping hot and it was one of the best curries I've ever had. We also a cashew chicken and also, an incredible meal. The atmosphere is chilled and nice. Music plays in the background and when we were here, food came out pretty fast. After a lot of hit and miss meals, this place is a gem.

My go-to place every time I'm in Cherating. It's peaceful by the river, food is satisfying with reasonable prices. A tip: go with the Thai curries, they are always good. Owner and staff friendly and accomodating. We always feel welcomed and are treated well here.

A must eat restaurant when you visit Cherating. New owner took over few years back and have been constantly doing little maintenance/upgrading work to keep the place nice and comfortable for customers.

Situated beside the river and they have very clean toilets. Food are delicious, fresh and price are reasonable. They do serve authentic Thai food and other asian dishes. Been coming here for meals every time I visit Cherating.

Some dishes are not in the menu so you can try asking what new dishes they have. The most recent is “Salted Egg Chicken” and it is damn good.

Favourite drinks to order: Apple Asam Boi

Ps. It’s a non aircon environment, close to nature. do not expect it to be cooling in the afternoon. And do not expect it to be mozzie or bugs free.

Nice and quiet little restaurant by the river. Food is so affordable and tastes good. Perfect for families with children. Not the cleanest but generally still ok.. When you come to places like that you don’t expect hotel grade food please be humble and you’ll eat happy and be contented! We were here almost every night we are here. There are mozzies around so please use mozzie repellent!

Was in Cherating from 2-5 Jan 2022. There were between 8-16 of us at any one time in Cherating. Frequented Restaurant Duyong for 3 dinners and 1 lunch. Food portions were more than adequate. Delicious and filling, and affordable. On an average we spent about RM15-20 per person, which included juices... Tried everything from Western to Chinese and Thai dishes; ala carte to sets. All very good. Great service. Do try the fresh juices as well; especially the mango, orange, pineapple, and watermelon. The new owner (since September 2019), Mr Gregory, was very friendly and we learnt a lot about his ambitions and philosophy for the restaurant; it's looking good. Wish them all the best. Will definitely be back.
