That’s a unique museum and volunteers who working for museum are very friendly and helpful.

Although I can’t read dutch, I could enjoy the exhibition a lot. It comprises both educational and entertaining subjects. As like they have a old style fairy park room, a lot of collection of merry-go-run, we & my daughter had a lot of fun here. A showroom which you can sit and enjoy a movie, to explain how people create animated movies..

And we can also have a close look of what’s the life of this old city family through visiting their rooms. All the environment here are very neat and clean. We’re glad to have a chance to visit the museum.

I'm considering moving to the Netherlands and I visited this site while on my stay and it was really cool! It was great to see the wonderful history and how they've maintained the site. If you've got the chance I would definitely reccomend visiting this place.

The oldest city palace in The Netherlands.
Great place to hang out for a couple of hours. It has some nice gardens. The downpart of the museum is free to enter.

The museum explains the origins of the city of Bergen op Zoom, its marquesses and its defenses. The museum is very interactive; audio and video play automatically when sitting in certain places, or pushing buttons (hydro alcoholic gel available in the different rooms of the museum). It's a nice museum for kids, who will have a great time at the "Kermis zolder" where you can find miniature carrousels and other curiosities. Two treasure hunts for kids available: one for the temporary exhibition "Koele wateren" and one for the Kermis zolder.
Lockers available at the entrance to leave your bag and coat (tokens available (free) at reception).
Due to the covid regulations you must book a timeslot for your visit (70 people can enter the museum every half hour). Facemasks are not required in the museum.

Nice place packed with culture

One of the most beautiful palaces of the Netherlands, maybe Europe. Museum is interesting, also fun for the kids. Can spend easily 2-3 hours here.

Beautiful middleage palace in the city center of the old town of Bergen op Zoom. Great gardens and art exhibitions as well. And don't forget the funfair exhibition on the attic.

Excellent museum, well worth the visit. Clean, interactive, well-staffed. There was almost too much to take in.

Unexpected gem in this pretty city. Nice, interesting collections but just the building itself is well worth seeing and hanging out in.

Fantastic city palace. Great to learn about a tipical dutch larger historical towns history and culture. Great treasurehunt for children!
