It's a hard work and determination of Capt Ved Upreti and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) officials so this motivational and knowlege centre could establish. Much much appreciated, very near to airport..must go if you with kids 👍

Being an aviation lover this was the best place for me to visit. Entry fee was Rs. 250 for nepalis and the citizens of SAARS country and for others Rs. 500. This was the Airplane of Turkish airline model Airbus A330-300, crashed at Kathmandu International Airport. It took around 9 months to refurbish. The major contribution was made by Pilot Bed Upreti and his trust. This museum was officially opened to public on 28 November, 2017. The museum's exhibits include the aircraft's original cockpit setting, model and miniature aircraft and items documenting the history of Nepalese aviation. The museum is the second of its kind in Nepal, after Bed Upreti had already set up a similar, yet smaller aviation museum, the Aircraft Museum Dhangadhi in Dhangadhi in Western Nepal. The museum cost around NPRs 70 million.

It's so nice place to visit. Visiting with kids is also fine. After the entrance to the museum compound, there will be an announcement for to be in que for boarding. When your group number is announced, stand in a que and ready to enter the aviation museum. There is a short documentary about the introduction of the museum and the work of captain Mr. Bed Upreti, the founder of the museum. Mr. Upreti has already established his first aviation museum in Dhangadhi, Kailali. The Turkish Air which crash landed in Kathmandu is used for the museum in kathmandu.
It has used very perfectly. There are various aircraft models displayed which are used in the world. Model of Right brothers craft is also there. Visitors could enjoy the cockpit by dressing up as pilot and get pictured.
On the rear side of the craft is a canteen for cold drinks, tea and coffee.
Dresses of Pilot and air hostess are available to get pictured. But have to pay for that.
It has a big premise with historical pictures of different aircraft taken by capt. Bed Upreti during his flights.
There is a nice arrangement for the kids to enjoy. Playing materials and hubs are there.
Its nice to go with family and pass 3-4 hours there. An abandoned helicopter is placed near the toilet. Kids enjoy getting the pilot seat and simulating the flight.

The Aviation Museum I recently visited was an incredible journey through the history of flight. The museum's curated collection of aircraft and aviation artifacts was truly captivating. Walking among vintage planes that once ruled the skies gave me a profound appreciation for the evolution of aviation technology. The detailed displays, informative panels, and interactive exhibits provided a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and breakthroughs that shaped the aviation industry.

One highlight was the opportunity to step inside some of the aircraft and experience the cramped quarters and cockpit controls firsthand. The museum's dedication to preserving not only the machines but also the stories of the pilots and crew added a personal touch that made the experience all the more meaningful. The timeline of aviation milestones showcased how far we've come from the Wright brothers' first flight to modern supersonic jets.

The museum wasn't just about the past; it also offered a glimpse into the future of flight, featuring innovative prototypes and concepts. The enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff added depth to the visit by sharing intriguing anecdotes and technical insights.

Overall, the Aviation Museum provided an educational and awe-inspiring experience suitable for aviation enthusiasts, history buffs, and families alike. It left me inspired by the wonders of human ingenuity and the limitless possibilities of the skies.
