Begnas Lake

Begnas Lake is a gem nestled in the heart of the Kaski district in Nepal, adding to the natural beauty of the Pokhara metropolis. Situated southeast of Pokhara valley, it proudly holds the title of the third largest lake in Nepal, following in the footsteps of the renowned Phewa Lake among the eight lakes in the region.

What sets Begnas Lake apart is not just its size but the meticulous regulation of its freshwater through the western outlet stream, Khudi Khola. Spanning an area of 3.28 square kilometers and gracing an elevation of 650 meters, this freshwater haven offers a serene escape. With a maximum depth of 10 meters (33 feet) and an average depth of 6.6 meters, it invites exploration beneath its tranquil surface, revealing the wonders of its aquatic world.

Begnas Lake, with its picturesque surroundings and impressive dimensions, stands as a testament to the natural splendor that Nepal has to offer, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking tranquility and connection with nature.

Peaceful place with clean and beautiful lake in Pokhara. It is cleaner and more beautiful than Fewa lake. If you want to do boating then it is better option than Fewa lake.

I prefer Begnas Lake over Fewa Lake because of its peaceful and secluded environment. Begnas is less crowded, more beautiful, and the mirror-like reflections of hills in the water make it a heavenly retreat for me.

Heaven! Worthy place to visit around the proximity of Pokhara valley. Enjoyed freshly cooked local fish. Organic food they offered was delicious. Everything here is budget friendly.

Must check out if you are in this area in Nepal. Amazing for just walking around and getting a break from Pokhara hassle (if you are in Pokhara), and taking in a gorgeous scenery. Many restaurants, homestays and lodges. Go off the beaten path you will not regret it!

Another beautiful lake near Pokhara. It doesn't have crowded buildings here, it's a peaceful and nature lover friendly lake with hills and greenery around. You can also find many restaurants and fish dishes around here. I am a vegetarian though but still have food items for me too.

Begnas Lake (बेगनास ताल) is a freshwater lake in Kaski district of Nepal about 30 mins drive from Pokhara Valley.
One will have a very peaceful experience while boating around the lake and the lakeside BBQ fish are so good there.

A very cool and awesome place far from the city of Pokhara. Large lake but not as crowded and happening like Fewa. Boats are available for rowing and just chilling in the cool wind. Lovely place. It should be more advertised and we'll managed for parking and night stays.

One of the best places to visit in Pokhara. Beautiful Begnas lake in a peaceful environment that is not overcrowded. A fantastic place to visit and enjoy the views of the entire lake and the lush green scenery. Experience boating and sample fresh lake fish. Only 4 kilometers from the main highway. The walk along the Begnas Lake is truly relaxing and photogenic. You can also rent a boat to get a better view of the scenery. Don't miss it if you're visiting Pokhara. I highly recommend it!

The Boatsman are so friendly. They charge NPR 700 per hour for boating which is more useful.

Just 4 km from main Highway. Rs. 10 is charged for parking. The walk aside the Begnas Lake is trully satisfying and perfect for pictures. You can also rent a boat for time being to enjoy the nature more closely. Don't miss this place while going to Pokhara 😁

One of my favorite Pokhara places. A peaceful setting where you can unwind and enjoy the boating. It's a beautiful place to be. Enjoy an hour of boating to the fullest. There are also some restaurants at the lake's end.
