This should be on everyone’s list of places to stay. If you want a quiet mountain / jungle retreat. This is it! Honestly we went in not knowing what to expect and left wanting more and to come back with friends. We stayed in one of the cabins that is up the mountain. I highly recommend this for a romantic getaway, a good group of friends vacation, or just unplugging from the world. This is a very peaceful place. The mountain cabin was very clean, well equipped, cozy, and welcoming. We loved the roar of the river and the many hummingbirds that came by all day. If you are planning on staying for a couple of days just make sure you go to the grocery store in the big city of David or in Cerro Punta. The kitchen has everything you need to cook just bring the food. You can rent a big 4X4 vehicle that can handle off road or the very kind staff will take you and bring you down the mountain. They also have “hotel” rooms that looked very nice. We had dinner one night at the restaurant at the main office, it was delicious and they were able to accommodate my special food allergy needs.
The staff was amazing. You don’t get to meet people like this everyday. Wow. Ms. Anna was just so incredibly kind and Michael was also top notch. If you get a chance to buy the coffee they sell in the front office, do it! Delicious. This place gets 5 stars from us and 5 starts from our kids.

One of the best experiences ever. I have been coming to Panama for over 30 years and the combination of outstanding service by Carlos (both of them) and uniqueness of the experience, makes it the best stay I've had in Panama. The spa is airy and clean, fully equipped with robes, towels, music, aromatherapy, sauna. Abel is the preferred guide for the jungle and access to waterfalls. He's knowledgeable and friendly! Excellent-went at our pace -slow. Helped my friend coming down the rugged path. All the staff wonderful. Carlos M a standout

The drive from Panama City was long, but amazing views along the route! Los Quetzales Eco Lodge completely increased my expectations tenfold for a quiet and peaceful retreat. The service to and from the cabins, and down in the main restaurant were exceptional. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a true nature resort.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere and people. Smooth check-in and incredibly fantastic service. After lots of travel I laid down for a long nap in one of the most comfortable beds ever, and dinner was waiting for me when I got to the restaurant.
Made for an incredibly welcoming experience each day following has only matched.
Was planning on leaving this weekend but am staying extra days.

Los Quetzales Eco-Lodge is a peaceful mountain Paradise ! A little bit of heaven on earth! From the moment we arrived here we have experienced the most beautiful mountain setting with garden, gazebo, river, ponds, a spa, walking trails and hammocks. And our room! Finished in wood, lots of windows, a large tub and a fireplace. Even a loft! The perfect place for our honeymoon. Our hosts Carlos and Ana were simply wonderful. Almost forgot, delicious meals at their restaurant also!

Great place to stay, quiet, relaxing and very comforting. Perfect for couples, and families. We stayed at the Cabin #22 and it was just perfect, very romantic. The only minor problem will be the wifi connection, it was weak at the cabin.
The food at the restaurant was always delicious, they have a great chef (I guess!) and the staff is so friendly!

Peaceful quiet. The place was established by a famous artist. His and other artwork is everywhere. The staff was so nice Ana and Carlos treated us like personal guests

Everything from arrival till departure was great! Do not hesitate, just go there, you won't regret!

We visited for lunch on a Sunday. As usual in the province of Chiriquí, we were treated with warm hospitality. Our server, Krystel was kind and quick. Our group ordered the “fillet de res” - 2 with a red wine chutney and 2 with pepper sauce. Everyone was very pleased with the flavor and the cook of the meat. The wine is limited but they’ve selected a good choice per price. The atmosphere is beautiful and fun. Every table can see the mountains and countryside around. While we waited for our food we played a few rounds of unskilled ping pong. I recommend this stop (and a stroll through the village) to anyone traveling in the area of Boquete.

Great place to stay. It has inmediate access to the cloud forest. The staff is out of this world. You get personal attention by the staff and the owner. They sell and rent all necessary equipment. For an even more incredible experience, they also offer "cabañas" in the middle of the forest. I highly recommend Los Quetzales Ecolodge.

I have traveled a LOT since aged 5. And I have never had an experience away from home that has come as close to perfect as my hospitality experience at Los Quetzales EcoLodge & Spa. My situation is a little unique as I'm a volunteer here (full disclosure) BUT the level of thoughtfulness of ALL the staff and willingness to ensure that I am not just comfortable but a truly honored guest is simply unmatched. The owner and his team have bent over backwards with care and generosity every day, whether to ensure I have what I need in my room, or to get a chance to visit local sites, and sample the most excellent variety of foods on offer in their restaurant. I'm coeliac so it's always tricky for me to eat away from home. That's one of the things that has made this so amazing -- every time the restaurant staff are very careful to go over what is on the menu and ensure that my meals come out not just healthy for me but incredibly delicious! Thank you Alex, Yari, Janette, Norma and Yuriel! The entire Quetzales team really takes pride in their work and genuinely wants their guests to fully enjoy this natural paradise.

I feel so lucky to have had an opportunity to spend time in Los Quetzales, bird watching, hiking the jungle, trying out their wonderful spa services (top 3 massages ever! Shout out to Celinia!). Thank you Darlenis for always being so helpful with info and patient with my bad Spanish! Carlos and Ana are incredible people and the work Carlos has been doing to preserve the primary and secondary forest in this part of the world is nothing more than noble. You won't find a better place to spend a week, whether you're on your own, in a group or looking for a great family reunion destination. Truly a world apart! I can't recommend Los Quetzales enough. I'll be back for sure and will be bringing more people! Thanks again for everything. A very special time.

Magical wonderland in the cloud forest. Log cabin, fire and natural beauty. Hills are lined with a rainbow patchwork of organic vegetable patches. Bus is easy and the trail to coffee country is a must.

This is my favorite place in Panama.. is very cozy, relaxing and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Take a hike and try to catch a pic of the marvelous quetzal as I just did (February). Ask for Abel the guide!

Everything was top notch for my stay in the dorm room. The staff was very helpful and attentive, the sauna felt great, the room was very comfortable, and best of all: the free hot chocolate was the best I have ever had!
