St. Martin of Tours Parish

St. Martin of Tours Parish Church is one of the historic and beautiful churches in Capiz. I got here and made my travel easy by using the Google Map. At corner Iloilo East Coast - Capiz Road and Ayuyan - Tinaytayan Road, near the Petron Gasoline Station, there's a tricycle and motorcycle terminal bound to Dumalag proper. I rode on a motorcycle going to St. Martin of Tours Parish Church so that I can immediately reached this Church. Fare is only P50. The provincial road is good. When I arrived at the Church, I entered into the open door and I was amazed inside. The "retablo" or main altar is so beautiful. There are also beautiful retablos on both sides. The arches and the dome are amazing. The colorful stained glass windows are enhancing the brightness in the Church interior. The walls are thick. The bell tower is tall. Overall, St. Martin of Tours Parish Church is awesome.

A Spanish Era Church in a small town, one of its (less noticed) attraction is a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary holding a severed head. :-)

What a lovely church, it reminded me of some I'd visited in southern Spain: very atmospheric, with a historic feel, impressive alter and many nice touches.
