CANAL VIEW PARK

This park was developed (boundary wall, walk track & Iron fence) in 2006-7 by the TMA Sarai Alamgir at the cost of Rs. 1.5 Million. It streches out about 950 feet alongside the right bank of Upper Jhelum Canal. Over the course of time, it remained neglected with no interest either by visitors or the TMA to revamp this naturally designed canal park. Soon after assuming the charge as Assistant Commissioner, S. A. Gir, on 5th March 2014, I decided to do my utmost for refurbishment of this sole recreation facility.
Accordingly, a beautification committee was constituted comprising Raja Muhammad Anwar, Ch. Gulzar Hussain and Tauseef Haider Shah. As result of which, we raised reasonable funds to carry out its uplifting, and we did so.
I'm profoundly greatful to all my team members and pay a heartfelt tribute to the donors (Raja Muhammad Akram, Raja Sarwar, Ch. Amanat Mehr, Raja Arshad Chib, Mirza Mustabeen Baig, Raja Zafar Chib, Raja Muhammad Anwar, Syed Tauseef Haider Shah, Ch. Farooq Bhatti, Ch. Shareef Tulip Hotel, Anjuman Tajraan etc) who made it possible.
Finally, me & my team are appreciative of Mr. Liaqat Ali Chattha, DCO Gujrat, who inaugurated this park along with Malik Hanif Awan MPA, Ch. Shabbir Raza Kotla, MPA, & Irfan Ali Kathia ADC, on 6th June, 2015.

Town in Pakistan

Sarai Alamgir is the main town of Sarai Alamgir Tehsil, located in the Gujrat district in the north of the Punjab province of Pakistan. Sarai Alamgir is one of four tehsils of Gujrat district. Sarai Alamgir covers 575 km² on the eastern bank of the Jhelum River, across from the larger town of Jhelum. East of the town is the Upper Jhelum Canal. Sarai Alamgir was raised to the level of Municipal Committee in 1976. source
