Travel back in time to the era of socialism! This museum will take you through the history of Communism in Poland from when it was forced on the country until its fall. It contains products and equipment from the era and even an apartment. It also has loads of propaganda posters as well. Showing the pictures of the museum to my parents they were able to recognize most of the products and the items from their childhood. It’s a small museum and a bit disorganized, but it is still really nice and I recommend! :)

A small but great museum! You'll find plenty of pictures and items from the Polish People's Republic era, alongside the recreation of environments such as a Polish house and café typical of the time.
The museum is also very interactive and easy to reach on foot from Politechnika metro station. Captions are both in English and Polish.
Tickets are 28 zl or 18 zl with reduction. At the entrance you will be required to wear a necklace with the museum's badge that will be recollected by the staff at the end of your visit.

A must-see for anyone trying to get a grasp of the Polish history. Try the traditional treats in the shop inside. Exhibition created with attention to details and quality descriptions in English.

Really interesting museum about post-war life in Poland under communism. There were a lot of thoughtful details and the cafeteria was a fun experience. Also sit for some of the videos in the theater!

Very good place if you want to feel the vibe of the PRL and understand something about the household of that times. Super cosy. Definitely recommend to grab a coffee at the local cafe with a nice view.

I was made to feel most welcome at this splendid, well thought out, and presented museum. If you're a fan of apps, audio guides etc you're well catered for. I preferred to use my imagination, how it was to live from day to day in an M2 apartment, with its possibly leaky plumbing, and the wind whistling through shoddy window frames. Maybe being called in by some party functionary to account for my actions, and thoughts. But also the joy of, after all those years on the waiting list, eventually being assigned a car, and they weren't that bad, I had one once, an FSO pickup in England, years ago, it was as tough as old boots, and never let me down.

For me the best part was the Café, everything original, if you like your coffee strong, then black in a tall glass with a metal holder. The chocolate and cream cake the "Wuzetka", is dangerously delicious. Pani Domenika took time to give me some valuable ideas about where to visit in Poland, thank you Domenika, if you're lucky enough to listen to one of her lectures, pay attention, she's a very wise lady who knows at lot about life.

On the way out, I liked the hand dryer in the toilet, which makes a lot of noise for very little hot air, takes a long time to dry your hands, but if you've been queuing for hours for socks, and there are no socks, it doesn't matter that much. Will there be socks tomorrow? Maybe, who knows? Maybe my friend knows someone, who knows someone, who knows where socks are to be found.

Enjoy the museum, if you come across a few bad reviews, I suspect they're written by people who have no interest in other people, and think only of themselves, with the face in the phone screen the whole time. That's the point, this place is full of things, but it is about people. The everyday Polish people, with their resilience, and stoicism.

Have fun and learn a bit too, can't be bad.

I loved going here. Also I love history. Nearly everything you see her on display were donated from people's basements abs attics from their grandparents ~ the ones who lived through communist Poland. They present facts, not a political agenda. It really is interesting to see how they lived.

Superb little museum about most aspects of life in communist Poland - not too little, not too much.

My dad grew up in the PRL before moving to North America. After showing him photos of this place, a lot of memories of his came back - with that came a lot of interesting stories. I'm glad I went and got to experience a piece of my father's childhood.

One of the coolest museums I have ever been to. It’s quite small and can get kind of busy with school tours, but there is still a lot to see and a very interesting history to the area. I highly recommend exploring this museum and checking out their cafe!

Amazing museum transporting you in time to 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and great history lesson about life in communist reality. Everyone born from 40's to 70's would be in love with this little, quirky museum. Just see the photos. Average price tickets, amazing old style coffee shop, but not accessible for the wheelchair users - stair access only.

A museum that helps young people to better imagine and feel the times of the Polish People’s Republic.
For the elderly, it can be a place of nostalgia and memories of old times.

The place is interestingly structured, starting from the beginning of the story to the end. The lively spaces: kitchen, bedroom, toilet, a cinema, a shop, a fiat and a typewriter are ideal for interacting with this place.

I recommend to visit this place in the morning on weekdays, later it can get crowded and noisy because of the family’s + school kids…. Trust me!!

There you will enjoy coffee from an old coffee machine and eat famous Polish desserts. The coffee place is served by an old lady, dressed in the blue apron from that time. Very nice and friendly person. I highly recommend !!

As a tourist this was a great museum to familiarize myself with the history of Poland post WWII. The admission prices are affordable and you can complete the entire exhibit within 2 hours. After your visit I would recommend going around the corner to a Milk Bar to experience a taste of history from the PPR period.

An interesting small museum where you can get a picture of how people in Poland lived under communism. There are lots of everyday items and a reconstructed apartment. Make sure to check the museum website because they have many promotional days for cheaper tickets or a free audio guide for foreigners on Thursdays. At the end of the tour, you can take a short break in an old-style cafe

Contemporary museum dedicated to the past) This is the brief trip to the Polish People's Republic (PPR). One of the most popular location in the central part of Warsaw.
You need around one hour to explore the exhibitions. There are several installations and a small cinema hall where the documentaries about soviet period are continuously shown. All exhibitions consist of real household items. The most remarkable is that some exposition are made in the form of the rooms of soviet period apartment. Moreover, one room is designed as kindergarten and another one is a real canteen. You entrance ticket states the real prices for products of the food basket in PPR.
You also can buy funny souvenirs at the museum entrance. It would be interesting to visit both kids and adults.
Must visit))
