Praia da Arrifana

Praia da Arrifana is a really natural beach, where the view is really incredible. We arrive on the top of the coast, so just for the view, it's really worth it. After that, it's a really natural beach, where there is a lot of wind and the waves come from everywhere. The day I went, the shape of the waves wasn't perfect for surfing, but there were still a lot of surfers there. For beginners, it wasn't necessarily easy, but in any case, just for the view and the natural atmosphere, it was worth it.

Beautiful area with lots of small cafes and restaurants. Surfing schools are very popular.

Lovely beach with regular small waves when we were there, great for learning to surf as you can see in the video.
Lots of accommodation for surfers within 5 minutes walk of the water and lots of young surfers there. We met a group of German youngsters (20s) who made us a coffee, when we mistook their accommodation for a cafe, and let us sit on their verandah while we drank it! (Danke) The top of the cliff, with a fantastic view, was also being used for sketching on our arrival.

Lovely surfers paradise beach. Very picturesque bay. Fair walk down but worth it when you get there.

We came many times for surfing, unfortunately it's crowded when conditions are good.

We did walk down the way, view is amazing, walk on the beach any season is great.

There is restroom down the beach, always open and clean.

Great. Looks pretty stunning from above — and doesn’t disappoint when you’re seeing it once you climbed all the way down. Climbing up is gonna get a drop of sweat out of your skin .. but then, it’s worth it.

Overall great beach, with some rocks, lots of room and not too many people. Great place to hang with small kids. There is also a beach restaurant close, that serves tasty burgers.

Great place to catch some waves, chill in local cafes and view the landscape from the view point at the top of the hill.
Can be a tricky walk down to surf, with board, if you don't have a 4x4 and it's wet or raining.
High tide brings water up to the rocks so barefoot is difficult.

We came back for some more surfing!
Was all as expected.

Amazing well known beach. Popular spot for surfing but way too busy in summer. It gets very often small waves and it is very good for beginners, however sometimes the beach break works nicely and there are nice left and rights waves.

Impressive cliff and nice restaurants around. A spot to sleep near by can be found easy and when Kangaroo point is working... the surf in on fire here.

A wonderful beach which has it all.

Access down a very steep winding road, but luckily there is a buggy available for the trip back up €1 each.

Nice sand, toilets close and clean.

Rock pools and swallow waves at the edge for the kids, with bigger waves for the more skilled further out.

I highly recommend this beach for a family.

The waves are amazing! Clear and clean sea. A bit crowded, but the beach is to long and stretched out you can easily find you spot.

Beautiful beach surrounded by tall cliffs. Surfers paradise and great for kids and families too. Parking close to the beach is difficult so ready yourselves for a little walk.

Don’t let the beautiful view deceive you the ocean there can be a really rough and dangerous

I lost one of my fins there in the water and got out of the water breathless after a swall of big waves came

Spend there one night and two days and meet nice people

Wow! Beautiful place with amazing landscapes! Atmosphere was relaxed and good place to learn surfing. There is also good options of food and drinks.

This is an amazing place. Nice quiet cove and really clear water and peaceful place for a holiday. Traditional Portugese feel to it and is highly recommend. The surfing is great for beginners and you can hire on the beach or in the local town. It is a steep walk down also, but amazing to spend the day there

We loved the view! Stuuning place, on top of the beach there are some bar restaurants to get snacks for the beach!!

Wonderful place, extensive sand with few people. Ideal place to learn how to surf, where there are many schools to learn the first steps in surfing

This is a stunning beach, well worth the drive out. There is a superb little restaurant on the way down to the beach too. You can book surf lessons from most of the local resorts or on the beach !

Absolutely gorgeous we went there on such a lovely hot day peaked at 37 Celsius just sat there chilled out and watch everyone surf or drinking a nice cold water must keep hydrated after all
