Over the years we keep returning to Valea Verde, this charming, peaceful retreat. The ambiance is always warm and inviting, the perfect setting for an unforgettable vacation and fine dining experience.
Chef Jonas deserves every accolade for crafting exquisite tasting menus that go beyond ordinary. Most of his ingredients are locally sourced and with his creativity each dish becomes a true work of art. The flavours are out of this world and the thoughtfully created wine list compliments each meal perfectly.
In spite of his many duties Chef Jonas will always find the time to sit with you over a glass of wine and tell you stories about food, people and the beautiful little village that Cund is.
We look forward to returning soon, such a privilege to be able to enjoy this warm hospitality and the exceptional dining experiences!

Great retreat, lovely cusine with delicious food. Stayed at Casa Cal which is modern and beautifully restored and very close to the restaurant (3min walk). Nice getaway for a couple or family with kids

Great place, tasty food. The hosts are very prone to detail, the staff is friendly. They even do their own cheese there, which is very tasty. The village is unique, like a fairy tale. I will come back ;)

Back after 7 Years. We had an amazing 12 course dinner with wine and champagne pairing. Jonas and his team deserve at least one Michelin Star for this tasty dishes. Sitting together with other guests at least until midnight and had great conversations and fun. I promise to come back more often. If you search for amazing food this include breakfast too and good company in pure nature to fill up your batteries. This is the right place. p.s the Romanian full body red wine 🍷 we loved too :)

Oh my goodness! We just returned as a family of four with two kids ages 11 and 8 from Valea Verde and it was magical! What an amazing, authentic insight into Translyvania. Do not miss an opportunity to spend time here. The food by chef Jonas is incredible, the homes are precious and everything is like old times compared to modern cities. Book the trip!

I have spent 3 days at Valea Verde. The hosts were very welcoming, I really loved my accomodation in the old saxon house and the food was amazing, too. I really recomend you to pay a visit at the Manufaktura shop and taste some of the best cheese products in Romania.

I have been to Valea Verde multiple times and had each time a wonderful and unique experience, loved the authenticity of the place, the amazing food based on many local ingredients, the hospitality of the staff and owners.
Perfect place to relax, connect to nature and have an amazing dinning experience.

We went to a wedding held at Valea Verde and the catering was excellent, the food very, very good and the staff were friendly and always helpful. The accommodation was a newly renovated building with clean, modern rooms. Although a bit tricky to reach from Sibiu, it was worth the trip and other wedding guests had the exciting experience of seeing bears along the way.

We are so happy to have found this place. It brought us back to our roots. Cund/Reußdorf gave us the possibility to experience in what kind of reality our parents and grandparents lived. Thank you for facilitating this.
We used Valea Verde Retreat as a base to rediscover the region by bike.
The place is beautiful with excellent rooms, very good food and an extremely pleasant atmosphere. Very nice, polite and helpful staff.
We are looking forward for our next visit.

Had a great experience here, couldn’t recommend more ♥😇. My partner and I stayed overnight early March. The food was exceptional, all local ingredients with such a nice twist. The menu changes every day based on the availability of the local ingredients.
When we arrived we were welcomed by the staff with a glass of champage which was very thoughtful of them. Lovely ladies.

If you’re thinking of having an event here, it’s worth it. Very cosy, extremely warm staff and very dedicated.

We love Valea Verde Retreat. We like the rooms, the coziness of the restaurant, the Christmas menu, we LOVE the little bread rolls, so much so that we are trying to recreate them at home 😍 (not quite there, yet!!).
The weather is a bit miserable this time of year, it us already our second time here for Christmas, but we bet that in summer time and (proper) winter time are stunning, and we are looking forward to coming back to enjoy them!
Jonas, the owner, is a very gracious host, and we thank him for trying to make our stay so pleasant (he remembered our first time here he served us a wonderful South African wine and tried to find one again, but alas, all was gone from his cellar, but we appreciated the thought so much!).
We are certainly coming back! 👍

We came here to relax and enjoy the country side and we were not disappointed! Oh my God, and the food! Absolutely delicious. Everything was amazing - and I’m a picky eater in general.

The only downside would be that we had to ask for everything that was included in our package, and personally I thought they would explain when we arrive everything we can do there.

The time stands still there..

What can I say about this place... it is just magical. A perfect spot to disconnect and charge batteries. Located in the midst of the beautiful Transilvania, Valea Verde is regented by Jonas and Ulrike, a very sweet couple that made us feel better than at home. Jonas is a chef and it was reflected in the quality of the food offered; breakfasts consisted on a buffet with many delicatessen, being my personal pick the assortment of delicious and locally made cheeses. Lunch and dinner were also great, very nutritive and varied, and the bread and butter served before the main courses sent my taste buds to paradise.

The staff was amazing but Christian was above and beyond. Always attentive to our needs. He is such a sweet guy.

The lodgings were so cozy and well preserved and the access was very easy. The bathrooms were very clean. The rooms are separated from the main part of the retreat, but walking through the little town in which Valea Verde is located is so relaxing and the town folk is very friendly. If you like little and cute dogs prepare your petting hand because you are gonna be rubbing bellies all the time.

To sum up, my experience in Valea Verde has been incredible. I met beautiful people and created amazing experiences that I'll cherish forever. Thank you Jonas and Ulrike, and thank you Irena, Ola, Patricia and Tarynne for the best project ever ❤.

A special and enchanting place to relax!

I just came back from Valea Verde Vacation with my husband and two kids and we had one of the most relaxing and pampered experiences: the nature is breathtaking, the food is delicious, the retreat is just beautiful. We got an entire house for us in the middle of the town with a garden and a winter garden as well. Beds were comfortable, the night is so quiet that the silence can only be broken by the roosters in the morning and when we open the windows, we got the horses in our garden. Our girls had a lot of fun feeding the horses every morning and riding them, seeing different animals around the village and having walks in the mountain and town.
We also met other families at the retreat and the girls were playing and swimming with other kids from different nationalities.

The service is excellent, everyone is super friendly and trying to pamper you.

We also did many activities: hikes, swimming, horse, sauna, tourism, bow arrow, petanke, chess, movies in big screen, wood fire, trip to the forest and neighbour cities and had enough time for jogging and reading a book!

If you are looking for something different - a calm and relaxing holiday - and to avoid crowded and loud places, this is your place!

Valea Verde is a gem! We visited this past October for a Truffle Hunting weekend with friends. The package included Truffle Hunting, accommodation & meals. Truffle hunting was exciting and the accommodation (we stayed in a cozy yard house in the village) was sparkling clean and very comfortable. The food was delicious, innovative & plentiful. Staff is extremely accommodating and approachable. Definitely bring a camera, and don't miss out on the bonfire!

The candle-lit dinners under the clear sky, the walks on the hills nearby and the comfortable, clean and authentic houses (we were in Reussdorfer last year and Samways this year) all contribute to our lovely experience. We were also allowed with our dog which is a huge plus as most locations in Romania do not allow that.
The culinary experience was excellent, fine dining courses. We tried a restaurant nearby and we can clearly state that there is nothing better in the area than Valea Verde.
The staff was extremely helpful and kind even at late arrival hours when we had to check-in or eat at late times. There was really no request they would not acomodate which is a huge plus.

Came back to Valea Verde with our 5 year old and had again one of the most relaxing and spoiling experiences: very good food, slept like a baby in their comfortable beds. The night is so quiet that the silence can only be interrupted by the dogs and roosters in the morning. Our little girl had super fun horse riding, spotting different animals around the village and playing in their lovely restaurant garden. We even saw a deer in one of our hikes.
Valea Verde is definitely not the grandma experience, they have a Gault Millau restaurant where you can indulge yourself with tasty fine dining dishes.

Excellent! Valea Verde is a very special resort, rather a project, and a place with a lot of character. We booked a "casa" for five days and enjoyed every moment of it.

The food prepared by the staff under the careful guidance of the host Jonas is amazing, both breakfast and dinner, everything handmade and based on local and fresh products. The cooking level often reaches highest gourmet standards for a more than reasonable price. Another highlight is the impressive wine list with emphasis on the surprisingly good transylvanien wines.

This all fits well to the apartments and houses ("casas") in the village, tastefully renovated while preserving the farm house character. The casas are very spacious and provide everything you need for a stay. The beds are extremely comfortable and, combined with the silence of the environment (except the village's doggies discuss a bit), guarantee a restful sleep.

The Valea Verde staff is always ready to help and very friendly. You shouldn't expect the professional service of a standard business hotel, but that's also not intended by the resort. Instead you are feeling to be a welcome guest and friend at Valea Verde. Ulrike and Jonas, the owners and hosts, are just sweethearts and do everything to make your stay special.

We enjoyed our stay a lot, the accommodation, the food and wine and the spacious resort with its many different locations to relax. The landscape of Cund is mild and charming, perfect for gentle hikes and long walks. Valea Verde is a wonderful spot to relax, recover, and to rediscover the simple pleasures of life.

A lovely place with amazing food! It’s a scattered hotel with a gourmet kitchen. I love the flavours, the colours, the smells of the place. If you want to slow down and run away from the every day stress, that is the place you have to go to. They have all kinds of activities from biking to yoga or truffle hunting. I especially appreciate the creativity of Jonas when it comes to food! The rooms are like out of a fairytale, the wine selection is astonishing, totally recommend.
